Hope the west send over one more bullet than needed to kill the entire Russian army.... that bullet can be saved for Putin.

Roger Waters has went off the deep end ffs

Love Pink Floyd so this sucks

This is not a shit post, but what about Zelenskys bodyguard with the deaths head logo a few weeks back. I know it’s different and has been updated but that was irresponsible letting that guy in photos as it gives Russia stupid propaganda and fuel to feed to their own stupid people who will eat that shit up.

But there clearly was a nationalist element in Ukraine and possibly still is, but it’s minuscule and does not justify anything Russia has done.

Again not shitposting or anything I’m just interested in the opinion of others and I hope this fucking war ends soon. Can’t believe it’s been over 6 months. I fear this will drag on for a long time unfortunately unless Putin goes. What a prick, all the warning signs have been here for years and we have just been taking his gas/oil, giving them back the olympics, F1, World Cups etc etc.

We’ve been sleepwalking.
Ukraine has plenty of problems, corruption, graft, etc, but they have a democratically elected government and that government wasn't committing systematic acts of violence internally or externally, nor were they violating treaties then were invaded by an aggressive larger nation for no purpose but to expand the larger nation's territory and that aggressor is committing war crimes most likely by policy (soviet tactic). If the Russian army withdrew today, peace would be restored, on the other hand, if the Ukrainians lay down their arms and surrender the population will be at the mercy of the wolves, I'm sure there'd be mass executions, mock trials, plunder, mass rape, and a thirsty power monger turning hungry eyes toward other sovereign nations.
Now if Russia stands down, I would oppose the Ukrainians seeking revenge, the good guys treat their defeated enemy better than their enemy treated them because that's what makes them the good guy.

Oh sorry I didn’t pass your test to post in here. I see it’s only reserved for one singular point of view and nothing else. I’ll not be back. GAF is increasingly aggressive and hostile more than ever. No wonder it gets a bad rap when people can’t engage in discussion like adults. I’m not defending Russia. I hate what is happening. But you can’t discuss shit in here without being dogpiled.

It was on the BBC news as well as a load of other sites, I research my sources. So it wasn’t photoshopped.

Approximately 34 seconds in to that video you can see it clear as day. Pull your head out of your ass and do some research yourself.

I did look, but you found a dude wearing the patch. Proud of you - let's now extend that to a narrative the Ukraine has Nazis and "really should be careful" because Russia may be justified or have a point.

This isn't a point, and there is no good faith debate to be had which is why we don't have them here. There is zero need to ponder the meaning of patches, Roger Waters and his stupidity, or whatever crack in the door excuse is needed to casually warn or consider Russia's position.

You also can create a thread to debate Russia's position too - but that's not the purpose of this one.

Aren't the T62's worse than what they where using in WW2 lol. Next they'll be finding some of the British Mk1's to send in.
In short, no.
T-62 is somewhat comparable to the M-60.

The problem is... Even Russia said that they would retire their t-62 about a decade ago.

And another good ol' red pill
Society is plain and simple different down(up) there

You think this thread is unwelcoming? Well you can go along and post in that other place if you really want. Or reddit.

No, it's just that a fair few of us are getting rather fed up with the both-side-ism that's, intentionally or not, softening Russia's image. Which after what they have done is not acceptable.

As for your claim about the patch: I can't see it in the image you posted. And I'm not going to waste my free time looking up that accusation. Either post a clear image or don't post the accusation. And if you do post the clear image, then you'd better have some more to back up what you are inferring.

seriously, Putin really expects that to work? anyone with the most basic understanding of tactics, logistics, and strategy knows that just doesn't work.

Thank you for your well worded response.

I agree wholeheartedly that Russia are obviously the aggressor and need to stop immediately.

This next piece is not directed at anyone and will be my final post in this thread.

I’m from a little place called Northern Ireland. Look up “the troubles”

A few weeks ago when the Queen died many people here celebrated that. This country was torn apart by decades of violence. You could say that was due to partition by the British government. I had family who were severely injured serving in the army.

I can empathise with the people who were fighting against them as if you look up the way catholics were treated here, it was wrong. I am not making excuses for what the IRA did, it was abhorrent, it has caused massive grief in my own family to this day and I’ll carry a lot of that to my grave.

All I’m trying to say is that all war is awful. People here saying they should destroy Russia or every Russian should die, should take a long hard look at themselves truly.

The longer this war goes on the lines get blurred as to what really started it. Northern Ireland is at “peace” now although has many active paramilitaries still to this day. Violence is but a minute away. It could flare up at any point, mark my words there is deep seated sectarianism still here.

But the vast majority of people have moved on, and that can only be done through reconciliation and healing. Yes, people should face justice for crime they have committed. But here we chose to release those prisoners under something known as “the good Friday agreement”.

This war is on a much larger scale, I’m not comparing the two, I’m just trying to say

“all violence is bad, and should not be glorified on either side”

That’s it. Sorry if I’ve offended anybody.

Mate… the troubles bear little to no parallels with the war in Ukraine. Not all conflicts are six of one/ half dozen of the other.

The war in Ukraine is only really comparable to the nazi invasion of Europe.

This really is the good guys vs the bad guys. That can and does happen in the real world from time to time.

Nobody is glorifying violence, but we are celebrating when Russian scum get turned into paste - and will continue to do so until they leave Ukraine.

So no… not all violence is bad. It’s good when it’s happening to barbaric soldiers bent on genocide.

So you're going to cowardly run away from this thread because your view has been challenged? Well, if you have just lied and do come back here, please read this.

I can't speak for others here, but I am well aware of The Troubles. You should well know then that the borders stayed the same after those decades of violence, mostly driven by the IRA.

It's not the same between Ukraine and Russia though. The similarities are only between the self-declared republics and the Ukrainian state, but the major thing happening in Ukraine is another country invading, something that never happened in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland was also ultimately between two countries that really didn't want to be fighting each other. In case you hadn't noticed, that war ended in the 1920s.

So, as to why a negotiated peace that doesn't see at least all Ukrainian territory returned is just not a good idea:
  • It's just not right.
  • Letting another state seize the territory of another state risks setting a dangerous precedent.
  • It would embolden other dictatorships with their eyes on other territory.
  • Russia are known to have interest in territory beyond Ukraine, and there are countries with significant Russian populations. If they gain from this, they almost certainly will try again sometime.
  • Now, so much damage has been done to Ukraine that they simply won't accept no recompense. Peace alone is not enough (not that it would likely be a lasting peace).

Ok, fair enough, you enjoy violence. I do not, that’s fine.

Thanks for calling me a coward. You must really know me and my life experience. See, you come in here and try and have a conversation about conflict, and you get told your a Russian sympathiser. In case you hadn’t noticed, it didn’t end in the 1920s, hence civilians were still getting blown up in the streets as soon as the turn of the millennium. I’ve lived in a conflict zone (albeit a small one, apologies again for it not being as huge and grand as what we are seeing today in Ukraine and my opinion doesn’t matter) and seen the damage that it does to families and lives.

You’ll also know the most recent census has shown an increase in the amount of people seeing themselves as Catholic in this country. A border poll will happen probably within my lifetime and we will see if the border remains, time will tell.

I suppose everyone in here would still have Germans paying heavily for WW2. Before you come back with smart comments about how they’re still financially paying and their army is limited. I KNOW!!! The same thing should happen to Russia when they finally stop being cunts. They should never have a military again.

But all this talk about normal Russians being destroyed etc is really quite worrying. I believe there are a lot of people their who really don’t want this war. But you all say that’s not true so it must be.

Sorry again, I’m out this time though, no further from me. But one thing I’m not is a coward, absolutely fucking not.

But can you believe that a vast majority of the Russian soldiers on the ground in Ukraine are committing acts of extreme and illegal barbarity? Because that's what the evidence is telling us. It's telling us if there are any decent Russians, then they are very, very few and far between.

I only had a pop at you above because you were trying to make a parallel between what Russia is doing in Ukraine, and how the US has behaved in its recent warfare activities - which is a massive false equivalence, only trotted out by pro-Russians or west haters. I would hope both this thread's responses, and the reports you can easily find online about what's happening in Ukraine would disabuse you of this warped perspective.

I was mainly on about the Mý Lai Massacre, I know the Iraq cause basically a one off.

Whey am neither pro russia or anti west, but yeah, Ukraine reports are diablolical. Think only the reports of anything like this recently was the bosnian war.

Painting an entire country with one convenient, lazy brush is grossly unfair.

There were Russians condemning this war from day one. Many of them have friends and family in Ukraine and don't want to be sent over there to kill people on their own land, but are being made to. Have a fucking heart.

Russia is getting painted exactly as deserved, this isn't a case of being fair or not.

Again, the exceptional few isn't going to sway my "fucking heart" towards Russia and it's atrocities. It's Putin's Russia and Russia is owning it as such. Their commoners or a majority (don't even need a majority to make a impactful stand) could/can have a different Russia tomorrow yet continue chose not to.

I'm firmly team Ukraine here but let's not sugarcoat it.

This war is the only war that’s ever mattered according to FunkMiller. I can at least talk to people who fundamentally disagree with me, still here to this day face to face. And not swear at them, talk down to them, belittle their own experiences. It’s called respect and there’s very little of it in this thread. Absolute hive mind. You’re wasting your breath unfortunately.

Edit: also I’m FIRMLY team Ukraine, I hope they HIMARS them the fuck out of there. But I know unless a peace deal is signed, thousands more innocents will die. That’s what I don’t want to see, the longer war goes on the more civilians die and that is the ultimate tragedy.

Most Russians are doing nothing and most keep silent now (even during this partial meat grinder mobilization). Look at the video above, those people right away insult the guy (Ukraine) and most are youth people, which reflects their parents.

I do feel for those who really oppose the war. Not so much for those who oppose it now, because it affects them. Russian people have all the possibility to end it today if they wanted. Those men will go and die, then be replaced by their sons and the son of their sons. Why not stop it now by saying fuck Putin and revolt. A lot will die, but at least their country will be free, then dying in masses for the ego of one single piece of shit guy.

Also, by the way mr smarty pants.

Do some homework. Great Britain, partitioned six counties in Ireland by using plantations of Protestants in to the North of Ireland.

So don’t you dare say there are no comparisons. Is this not similar to what Russia did in Luhansk and Donetsk?

So if you go back to the 1600’s who are the good guys? You can go back and back and back. It doesn’t matter, I don’t hate all English people or Irish people do I?

Imagine what an absolute idiot I would be if I hated someone because of where they were born?

I don’t consider myself to be any nationality, and a lot of people here feel the same way, it’s a lot of shite, following one flag or another. But you guys can only see Blue and Yellow. We are all people of planet earth. There are Russians who will be so ashamed of this but you tar them all with the same brush.

You’re full of it mate. You talk the talk all day long but all you do is stir the pot.

Well, you were the one whining and saying you weren't coming back here. And yet here you are, so clearly not a coward but rather one not to keep their word.

You brought up The Troubles in your ill-advised and incorrect analogy. You are the one claiming that being Northern Irish and having suffered due to them makes you more qualified to comment on what's happening in Ukraine.

We can't help you if you insist on digging your own hole.

Not even young. All women and children. The elderly men can go to the meat grinder. The old women are sweet but need an escort.

Yesterday, around 19:00, a blast furnace caught fire at the Novokuznetsk Iron and Steel Works of the EVRAZ holding.
The cause of the fire was a power surge due to which the coke oven gas blowers were turned off.
Official information is withheld.
The damage is huge!

I was being dead serious as psychological warfare, that would probably really cut to the bone of the Russian ego if all their mothers fled the country.
Hey, you know all these military sims and FPS games have the villain as Russian? And how it's the 2000s and stereotyping Russia as warmongerers should be a dumb take in gaming?

Guess the writers were right the whole time.

I'll never second guess their plots ever again.

That is either amazing sabotage with a side of massive incompetence on Russian security forces or Putin is sending Abramovich, which would be mind-blowing stupidity but entirely possible
