Silent Hill arcade? Tekken 6 to be shown tomorrow?

So I was right all along...Namco is using a Cell-based board for this game. Anyhow I can't till game arrives in the arcades...

That is so awesome! I can't wait to pull out the shotty on those who love to use Jin's lasers.
So true. :lol

The only thing dissapointing so far to me is the lack of self shadowing. Everything else looks ****ing awesome. :D

Zafina's fighting style looks like a mix of capoeria and drunking boxing.

If their cries slowly changed to low gurgling/choking noises it would be GOTY for the next twelve decades.

Um...haha?
Um, if you played fighting games before tekken you would realize their characters aren't original. They didn't pull a Data East, but it isn't hard to figure out where they got "inspiration" from when designing some of the characters.

I don't think he was talking about Tekken.

What's the name of that cross dressing nun-looking MALE from that other fighting game?

Whatever the case, Jacky from VF needs to PUMP *clap* LEO up.

Well of course they got inspiration. A ton of fighting game characters are inspired from popular characters in film/books/other videogames. However calling them generic is crossing the line. They are unique at the very least, none of this "Joe Karate guy" and "Big-breasted wondergal" like some fighters.

I just take issue with the word generic. Unoriginal is fine but generic is just..no.

I hope this is an early version of Tekken 6. OK, I can get used to the new, more "realistic" art direction (muted colors and so on), but they need to bump up texture detail in the environment, throw in some special effects, lighting and add spectators. I think VF5 looks better.

That trailer of Tekken 6 made it look pretty early to me. The char models are decent, but the stages are pretty bland and lifeless apart from the "urban warzone" one. No way does this look better than VF5.

It looks like its coming along well since the last E3 trailer, but the new characters are seriously "meh"...

NO, instead Tekken has matchups that feature a Ken rip off VS Blade or Tiger Mask VS Sarah Bryant. Nothing Generic about that.

so a dude with a leopard mask for a head, a kangaroo/lizard with boxing gloves, a 'roided out Vincent Price with Wolverine hair, a cripple doctor, a cybernetic samurai with a skull face, and a dude that looks like Mario Van Peebles are generic?

christ... I feel out of the loop... @_@

I can't get over "Silent Hill: The Arcade." It just seems like a giant dump in all of our faces.
First three definitive releases: SH/SH2/SH3 - last three: SH4/Origins/The Arcade.... OUCH. :(

:(

And I like SH4. And I am gonna give origins a chance, even if it looks more like a poor RE4 knockoff than SH.

Woahhhhh I'm loving this. Jack looks crazy, and Bryan Fury..........Gah, I hope they get that trailer on PSN in 1080p glory.

Like one of the other posters said, there'd better be create-a-character. I mean SC3 had it, why can't the Tekken team borrow that from SC? With that, the customisations and the ranking (preumably T5DR's casrd system++), this'll be really good.

The only qualifier is that they don't do a SC3 (to consoles first). Please release this in arcades then do the port Namco. kthxbye

Yes, Tekken is generic. VF and SF are much more original.

Edit: Love that new character. Rock Howard with cowboy boots. I wonder if Namco will do a country music version of "Children?"

yeah bryan with the gun gets me thinking>.> what other weapons are in the game :lol ok let me stop this isnt mortal kombat-_-

ok. You've made your profound statement that has surely changed all of our opinions.

Congratulations. I'm getting the champagne right now...

...you can take it with you on your way out of this thread that you clearly aren't interested in.

Tekken's character designs are far from generic (and this is coming from a big VF fan). If you were talking about Tekken 1 I'd understand I guess. :lol

If they ever start to go that route, i think I will kill myself from depression.

I don't actually think bryan will actually use it during the gameplay, seems like it was just added onto the trailer. Maybe after he wins a fight he shoots it in the air or something.

Those crashing waves on that one stage are sick. Animation on Zefina looked tight, and yeah looks like Namco figured out next gen a lil bit :) Finally somebody gets hair right in a fighter .

1: No they are not.
2: Why are you here?

yeah maybe the gun is a accessory like the saxophone on bruce if anyone played tekken 5
I have a feeling it's one of his new victory animations. Weapons would really **** with the balance.

I am interested in Tekken. Tekken 5 was the best game namco made last gen. They greatly improved the gameplay in the last game. Can't wait to see what improvements they make in six.

Knowing Bryan I imagine he will be putting that gun to use on his opponents after he wins. The winning animation from Tekken 4/5 where he just beats the crap out of them is absolutely sick(especially hearing the crunching noises and such).

No you're wrong.

Oh and the best game Namco made last-gen was Breakdown. Tekken 5 was pretty damn good though. :)

It looks like a solid step up from PS2, but I expected more. PS2 TTT was a huge visual leap from T3 on PS1 and this doesn't seem anywhere near the same jump.

The hit sparks look retarded in this day and age. They should do REAL 3D SPARKS and not stupid colored blobs that look dumb in clean HD.

The stages seem pretty meh as does the lighting and the characters don't seem to be hugely more detailed. I'm glad it doesn't look like the E3 shit but it's sad that it's probably on better hardware than VF5, yet looks a step down in graphics. I don't even think it looks as good as DoA4 atm.

Screens were disappointing, but I feel a little better after watching the trailer. Still I was expecting more from Namco.

If anybody was wondering what the spiderman/ps3 font looks like with the number 6.

and compared to the tekken 6 logo..

pretty much the exact same but extended at the top.

Yeah I agree. I would of rather him laughed in the end of the trailer instead of that noise me made. His laugh is so damn awesome. :P

Which means it will go BEYOND PS3!
Uh OH

Hmmm....my opinions......

Well, this is what I will say. If VF5 was running in 60fps like this was, I would declare it the better looking game by a noticeable margin. Is that fair, you think? I personally hold it to be the truth.

The characters are seemingly high-poly -- nothing looks blocky or anything of the sort, but I feel...cheated by watching that trailer. It didn't look too amazing to me.

Tekken 6 looks pretty good, I'd like to see a higher-resolution and less-artifacted video before I make any conclusions but the environments look a little barren. Not a lot of life in them like there was in Dark Resurrection.

I'm completely apathetic about the two new characters though, I have zero desire to even try them out
