Does it say anything interesting?

God I hate this. Taking all these pictures *around the cabinets* yet no pics of the actual games!
Sure I understand why they do this but I want to see what's behind those curtains!

A thread with a rumor/promise that actually delivers? This is AWESOME! Loving it! I've always really enjoyed Tekken, can't wait for this.

I dunno why, but watching that trailer again, I got a vibe that Leo is Paul's daughter. I would hate for him to be killed off and be replaced by some kid, but I really wonder who's graveyard she was visiting. I mean, shes got the leather jacket, biker gloves, the boots, the blond hair, red cloth (from paul?), etc.

I hope I'm wrong on that.

Uhh. . Leo is very much a boy.

Just like Elliot.

Just like Bridget.

Just like Cuilan.

Once you fap to a trap, you can never go back. Deal with it, suckers!

It certainly doesn't look bad, but am I the only one around here to be disappointed by the graphics of all the next-gen fighting games released or shown until now?
I've always seen that genre as the the graphical showcase for consoles, and so far I don't think it's the case at all with DOA4/VF5/T6.

but even if she is a ...uhh, guy. Nobody is fapping over her. I'm more interested in her storyline than anything, I seriously think shes paul's daughter.

I was thinking the same thing.

Well, to be fair. DOA4 was first generation (just look at the difference from Tekken Tag to Tekken 5). VF5 wasnt even built from the ground up on next gen console hardware. And T6 is far from done.

You're not alone. But I would assume that it's far from finished so it might get better.

I agree, Fighters were easily the most impressive graphically last gen; not so much now.

I was hoping for Fight Night Round 3 graphics, maybe that is to unrealistic.

Dunno. I'm not disappointed even one tiny bit with VF5's graphics to be honest. I think it's not only the best looking 3d fighter by far, but it's probably one of the best looking next-gen games. I'd only put it behind Gears probably.

In real fighting games, the characters are not going to be up-close face to face but rather often 10-30 feet from each other. In that case it'd be impossible to see all sorts of super tiny details in their skin like pores or whatnot even if they were actually drawn into the models.

I strongly disagree. VF5 looks really average IMHO. Bad skin shading, very average lighting, heck I'm not even impressed by the animation anymore.
Maybe I'm jaded, maybe I've got my expectations too high, but I just can't get to be even slightly impressed by these games.

Is this on the PS3 arcade hardware?

IS there PS3 arcade hardware to begin with?

Hmm. Did anyone else notice how they were using PS2 dev kits in the making of shots? :/

I've been preaching it since DOA4 was first shown.

Hundreds of millions of polygons per seconds
Billions of shader ops per second
512 MB of uber fast memory
Advanced multi core procesors
Closed box

All applied to 2 (TWO!) characters and a mostly static, very predictable environment, and the best we can get is the likes of DAO4, VF5 and Tekken 6?

I too am questioning how much further you can go with two dudes fighting in a ring. (I've always wanted to see a fight on the back of a truck barrelling through a city, myself) I'm also sick of the smooth skin on everyone. Bullet Witch sucks ass but the skin on the chick is totally awesome and convincing.

I think those were sixaxis controllers.

I think you are the only one :/

But stop. In another videogame messageboard i saw a posting of a person who really said that even the Wii could handle such graphics.

These are crazy days...

Pictures on the first page state it is the first game on PS3 arcade hardware.

Also, I saw quite a few PS3 TEST units in the making-of shots.

I've never seen it as an abbreviation for Leona, especially since it's two letters off.

Well, maybe not so much an abbreviation as much as sort of a pet name. They do it Japan all the time, like if a girl's name is Kaori, her boyfriend might call her Kao. It's Japan so you never know what they're thinking.

I am sure your tune will change once you see VF5 in real life running on the 360. :D

How is Tekken6 comparing to Tekken5 DR PSN version? I haven't had the chance to see the PSN game live yet, but from the movies and screenshots it seems they're very alike in terms of visuals?

To do SH justice, the arcade machine would need to really mess with your head.

For instance, the cabinet could use a camera to capture your likeness and make the enemies look more and more like you as the game goes on. Every time you insert a coin, the coin return slot could bleed and make noises like a crying child. When you reach the final stage, the machine should just gas you and roll your unconscious body outside into the gutter.

Or not.

Haha, that would rock.
