Will the PS2 sing star disk work with the PS4 version like they did with the PS3 version?
Edit: I guess not.

DLC works IF it's also available on the PS4 store. (Why is it split?)
THE HORROR.If this is a forced app that gets plastered all over the front screen, I'll be trading the PS4 in
Will this be a forced icon on the PS4 OS too?
They better not stain my PS4 OS with this shit as well.

1st world problems right here folks ... jeez
Hmm, blog comment says it isn't possible because PS4 can't play PS2/PS3 discs but that's not what was asked. My old ps3 couldn't play ps2 discs either but it could read the data and load the songs.

Yeah, but this guy seems to actually be a part of the company working on it. So, I don't know.
I'm hoping he's stupid. We'll see at E3.

Firstly, that meme is banned, because it's fucking moronic, secondly, caring about user experience and invasive advertising is not unreasonable.1st world problems right here folks ... jeez
Look at these young, trendy, happy, attractive people playing Singstar. Maybe if I play Singstar, I can be like them?
That was absolutely TERRIBLE. How could they even do this on the PS3 OS to begin with!
They're working on an AAA PS4 game.

It follows confirmation that Sony will live-stream the PS4′s Japanese launch event this week.

They will also work, with the graphics programmers and Lead Artist, help deliver our next-generation lighting solutions.
Any guesses as to what this is? The mention of vehicles is interesting, certainly.
Why do they even need a smartphone app if the PS4 controller has a built-in mic? Seems like deving just to dev.
Also, it's sad that a smartphone app easily tops a PS Vita app as a design/project priority for marketing the game.
Finally we won't be limited to playroom for ustream porn. In ready for some karaoke porn!

Controller has a SPEAKER. Not a microphone.
So that headphone/mic jack on the DS4 is not a a dual headphone/mic jack and I've been doing it wrong this whole time?
This. I put some hardcore bucks into the PS3 Singstar and don't really feel like paying for that again.
Semantics.
You said the DS4 has a built-in mic, which it doesn't. It does have a mic/headset jack.
Audio jack isn't the same as a built-in microphone. Yes it's bundled, but using a phone is more intuitive. And controllers are expensive. Most people probably have ready phones.

It's not something they have to do but they really should. It would only made people already enclined to pay for the game and to buy more songs to keep doing it rather than to have the impresion to be fooled and not playing Singstar anymore.
They can make the downloaded songs not playable on PS3 after transfer. That's cheap but I can make the sacrifice so I can play again on my big TV in my living room with friends.
Blackberry app?
Interested in the app, but will the latency not be an issue?

Seems they went beyond what was shown in the documents.
Are you guys serious about wanting to sing with your Vitas?

Is it confirmed F2p because they did announce that new collection of 30 songs.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-21-use-your-phone-as-a-mic-with-singstar-ps4As for the game, it comes in two flavours. One is the disc version - the first new SingStar disc since 2011's 'SingStar: Back To The 80s' - which costs £24.99 and includes 30 songs (expect detail on the new track list at E3 next month). The second is the download version, which is essentially a demo. This is free (you don't need a PlayStation Plus subscription) and includes 10 songs each a minute long.

Buzz and Singstar games using smartphones as the peripherals is a stroke of genius.
I do hope you'll be able to redownload songs bought for the PS3 versions on the PS4 because I'd hate to lose access to that many songs. : /
Maybe some of them... Wouldn't keep my hopes up.
The Singstar DRM is horrible.
