For the wii, were it ends up in the console race will determine whether it's a worthy system or not.
If it's first or even second or even if it's a very close third, it will get plenty of support... If it ends up a distant third, like gamecube, then it will be a machine for nintendo gamers. This will all play out over the next two years... If it's leading in japan after two years and close in the other markets, it's probably gonna mantain whatever market share it has by then.
That's why everybody who has a wii should root for the non gamers and casuals to buy the system... They're the ones who could eventually grow the userbase big enough to make the machine a huge success. A larger user base results in more cool games for everybody, regardless of the demographics. The DS is proof of that.
I'm buying one, and i'm personaly hoping for tons of brain training/nintendogs type games because i want to own a successful system, simply because success = support.
