That doesn't include the base Source materials though, which are required to play the game right? If someone didn't already have those for HL2 or whatever the download would be even larger.

You guys are debating the size of the game, yet the very fact they multiple people are getting multiple sizes proves it; You need extra Source Files when downloading a fresh copy of TF2. If they are not already installed (say from a fresh Windows/Steam install) you're game will be a larger download.

How do pets and powerups and stuff factor into Faerie Solitaire's gameplay? Is it just a solitaire game with fancier trappings?
They're just an added collectible element, they don't factor into the actual card game.

By the way, it is not the same solitaire as most people know (from the built in Windows game) which is Klondike, Faerie Solitiare is based on Golf, which you can read about on this Wiki page. It's a much faster paced game and also much less frustrating.

I remember reading that they released an IOS "HD" version. Maybe they'll update the PC assets. It still looks good at 1080P but a little higher resolution graphics would scale better.
That's the plan. The mobile version has some other changes too such as having true wild cards (as opposed to the extra 2-10 cards in the PC version), scoring is calculated differently and you can retry hands. I think there are more changes coming as the mobile version still hasn't implemented the pet element.

Here is a preview of the higher resolution card art: http://i.imgur.com/KpO3I.png

Well, that should be a fun challenge but I'd be wary of it doing anything for the achievement.

My guess is that it's truly bugged or there's a hidden battle nobody has found yet.

Hopefully if it is bugged, the game keeps track of this stat somewhere so you won't have to replay the whole thing once patched.

Well, they're looking into the achievement now and it looks like you were right. You need to fight every available battle once for the achievement.

I might hop into it later - after I downloaded your gift ;). Thanks again :)

Did anyone try fighting the Silver Stones every time they came up? I wonder if that counts.

I probably fought them about 5 or 6 times. Relatively easy and they actually give you some decent money in return :).

Did get beaten by it once though...

I'm at the Wyrd Sisters now, that damn wolf is tough, 200hp. :(
Good luck, the last three battles are horribly unbalanced.

My hint:
Try to build a couple of royal/straigt flushes, those are the only things that can even things out.

An update for you. There's a thread on their forums on this. There's a workaround (run the program in XP SP3 Comparibility Mode). Their programmers should be addressing it as well.

Still didn't fix it, I also tried reinstalling C++ Redistributables and .Net Framework to no effect. It may just be this computer, I'll try it again on my home computer this afternoon.

Only got to play a little bit of Faerie Solitaire before having to crash for the night but it is a fun little card game. I can see liking it even if you don't like solitaire - it has a light puzzle aspect to it, the graphics and music and nice and soothing, and there are stats and progress rewards that are good little hooks.
I recommend snapping it up for the price they are asking. Can't really see how you couldn't get $1.70 worth of entertainment out of it.

Does anyone have any idea how to get The Sims 3 Create a World working with the steam version of the game? It doesn't seem to register the game being installed when you run the install.

They start on thursday

Edit: and its a Dino D-Day free weekend

I spotted that, but normally, there's a Friday deal that lasts the whole weekend as well.

Can't find any proof of it though so it might just be me going insane :P

Haven't really heard anything good about Dino D-Day, but i'll give the game a try. Doubt i'll like it enough to shell out $5, though.

I can't download Dino D-day. Keep clicking the "download and play now!" links and nothing...doesn't appear in my library.

Anyone else?

Is there a way to check in Steam what kind of DRM a game has? I would like to stay away from games that require an always on Internet connection.

What?! Nuclear Dawn on the front page?! Bout time. Too bad you can't actually preorder it like it says haha

It seems to be pre-purchase able now though! 17,99€ for one copy, 10% discount on that one. Four pack is 59,97€.

Pre-purchasing will give you access to an upcoming beta scheduled to start end of August.
It's SteamPlay, too!
