The physics are completely different now.

1.6 is the same as it's always been, and even with the move to the Orange Box there are bhop scripts that still work with Source. There are a handful of people on a local GunGame server that use them purely for the sake of getting knife kills.

Since when does steam defrag's your hdd? I run deus ex yesterday and said you have high fragmentation do you want to defrag? i did but its the first time i see an option like that. Was it always there?

Yeah, it's been there for a while. At least since 2007.

However, I've heard it doesn't do a fantastic job. Run a program like Auslogics to defrag your entire disk.

The Saints Row 2 Gamer's Gate debacle gave me a mini scare and I thought I'd ask just to be sure. I'm thinking of buying Deus Ex: HR off of either Greenman Gaming or Get Games to activate on Steam, and I live in Sweden. Is there any difference between the versions I get off those stores and the one I get if I buy it off Steam directly, or is it all the same core release of that game?

Batman being without GFWL turns a "dunno, I'll get it when it's cheap" to "Day 1 purchase" for me.

GFWL can fall off the face of the earth. The majority of PC gamers fucking hate it.

Dragon Age 2 worth $10?
Some would say differently, but as a big fan of DA:O on the PC, I would say you're better off getting anything else.

Maybe if you were a console fan of DA:O it would be an improvement? But I never touched the console one. The PC version, going from DA:O to DA2 was just utterly insulting, in one of those "can't stop watching this trainwreck" sort of way.

One of the most used bhop scripts for 1.6 no longer works anymore. When they tried to fix the crouch running, they pretty much removed a lot of scripting to prevent further exploitation of crouch running.

Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will be on Steam:

Steam will have it. RT @Tim_Static: Definitely need some info and show peeps how to get the MKAK for PC. I dont think its common knowledge.

I'm not sure if there's a Dragon Age 2 demo around, but I think I tried the demo on an Onlive-like streaming service a while back. I really didn't care for it. =/ I liked the Witcher 2.

When it came to the demo I had fun playing as a mage on PC, but not a warrior on consoles. That's what I started DA2 as, but I stopped since I remembered I could import incomplete saves (and kind of want to finish DA:O first anyway.)

Odd Choice. Never been a major fan of Mortal Kombat, but I may pick it up down the road at the right price.

i haven't played through Dragon Age 2 yet, but i did complete Dragon Age Origins.

graphics and combat seem better in Dragon Age 2 from the little i did play of it.

the graphics with the high res textures patch are pretty sweet, in fact.

Oh shit, Post Mortem!

It's linked to the Still Life games, though I'm sure if you know what Still Life is you knew that already.

That price for DA2 over a D2D is hilarious. It makes you wonder why they bothered with the whole "pull it from Steam" fiasco, it's obviously not worth so much to them anymore.

Graphics themselves are better, the art style is not.

The combat looks better, but it's exactly the same with faster animations while the mechanics stay the same.

Also the combat is worsened by the fact the first game combat was all about tactics and setup, now this is just spamming by mobs that jump off from the rooftops randomly, killing any major tactics you could have had.

Is Robin Hood anything like the Commandos games? Judging from the screens, it looks like it may be similar. Has anybody played this before?

Its a very well received Commandos clone. Waiting for a sale, though. But if you loved the Commandos clones you probably wont go wrong with it.

okay. but where does the real hate for Dragon Age 2 come from?

does it have a terrible story or something?

i like the graphics and combat so far ...so if those are the only negatives that you have, i'll probably really enjoy it.

No's ones going to argue there but we were talking about its value.
You can get Witcher for 10$ on GoG.

If you are just looking for an RPG, not really expecting much. Basically something to put 25-30 hours into, killing 2 weeks. Why not. Its only 10$. If you have a backlog and contention with other titles, most likely better ones. Spend your money else where or save it. It will only get cheaper and its not like you need to show them your support anyways.

There is a demo for it too.
