I want the rocket launcher and the engie items! But I own so much of that pack already :/Pandoracell said:Well, good timing for the Brink free weekend, at least.
So, since the TF2 items are never retroactive, that would mean that if I already own the pack I would need to purchase for an item, I have no way to 'buy' the item, and would have to get it through trading/crafting? I really want that Quake rocket launcher.
The DLC wouldn't download for me, just redirected me to the homepage when I clicked Install Game on the DLC page - is it because Brink hasn't finished downloading yet?derFeef said:Free weekend is a smart move. Will play for sure, downloading DLC now.

I wonder if Vert will put up a server for the free weekend.Stallion Free said:Oh hell yes.
Me, for instance. The game is supa great, don't believe console kiddies lies.LovingSteam said:Who said this?
I think so. It took a while for the download to start. But look into your game properties, the DLC should show up there.PaulLFC said:The DLC wouldn't download for me, just redirected me to the homepage when I clicked Install Game on the DLC page - is it because Brink hasn't finished downloading yet?
I was able to play fine on the US gaf server, so I would look forward to something like a weekend full of GAF Brink action.Nabs said:I wonder if Vert will put up a server for the free weekend.

Yeah, been there - done that. Just said my own opinion on Brink, don't want to start flame wars.LovingSteam said:It's not just console owners that I have heard who have said the game isn't all that.
That is a dumb reason for not trying out a game for free.jaundicejuice said:Check out Brink's stats on Steampowered before you download the demo/free-weekend. Less than 1000 people were playing it yesterday. And the game has about as much of a singleplayer campaign as either Left 4 Dead. Yeah, you can play with bots, but do you really want to?

And you think a free weekend where the game is free to everyone who has a Steam account won't increase those numbers?jaundicejuice said:Check out Brink's stats on Steampowered before you download the demo/free-weekend. No, fully Steamworks enabled.nexen said:Wait, is Brink GFWL?

Brink is one of the very few games on Steam I guess I actually regret purchasing (partly gameplay, partly unrelated reason). I haven't tried it since the latest update but performance was pretty horrible on an e8400 and 5850 last I checked.LovingSteam said:It's not just console owners that I have heard who have said the game isn't all that.
Bummer. I wanted free cheesemints. Will still play.derFeef said:No, fully Steamworks enabled.

Glad I only lost $3.38 on that.
Thanks for the reply, I'm certainly still interested. I'm trying to get thru my backlog and buying less games, but once I'm clear it's up there with Planescape as my must buys I think.Confidence Man said:Absolutely. The story is hard to follow so I'm not sure how much you're going to get out of that aspect, but it's a full single-player campaign. It's not an afterthought to multiplayer if that's what you're worried about. There is no competitive multiplayer in fact, just co-op where you play through the campaign.
It's not quite your typical single-player though. You don't save your progress while in a level, but your character is persistent. So for example if you quit in the middle of a mission you retain all experience and money and whatever else you gained, but you have to start the mission over when you go start up again. At any time you can go back to your HQ hub where you can buy new equipment and abilities or take on extra missions.

I am on Windows 7. It is working halfway now that I rebooted Steam. I say halfway because there is no sound. Awesome.Stumpokapow said:Notice: Hamilton's Great Adventure only supports Windows Vista or Windows 7.

There's never been a promotion that required you to re-buy a game you already own
Go to your sound settings and lower it to 48000 hz at the highest. Other games have the same issue if you have it above that.Dice said:I am on Windows 7. It is working halfway now that I rebooted Steam. I say halfway because there is no sound. Awesome.
Someone? Anyone?The_Player said:Guys, can you give me installation link to Brink (steam://instal/###) please? The game page is missing there.

It's ... an indie game from a small developer.Dice said:Wonderful. Amateur hour.
They're distributing the game here, so they've got rights to ban all of their games on Steam.derFeef said:
