It's ... an indie game from a small developer.
And how many of those have I played with sound that worked? A couple dozen at least. :p

they have daily deals as well for the quakecon sale, so don't buy anything till you see em. they had oblivion goty for like $6 last year to start.

Quake 4 up
All Quake games appear to be on sale
All Bethesda stuff is up on sale

Looks like this ball is rolling

Sigh what the fuck is wrong with me, reading this made me all giddy, " wohoo they're on sale?! ". Then I realize I already own them all...

Quake 4 is 20$ atm, that is way to high for me to just be replacing my disk copy.

That doesn't mean you can't be more forgiving.

Check out Brink's stats on Steampowered before you download the demo/free-weekend. Less than 1000 people were playing it yesterday. And the game has about as much of a singleplayer campaign as either Left 4 Dead. Yeah, you can play with bots, but do you really want to?

Hell yeah I do! It's easier to tailor the experience to my level of game play. I would much rather play with a bunch of bots I can control the difficulty of than a bunch of strangers who are pros.

So, can anyone explain the difference between Arsenal of Democracy and Darkest Hour to me? They look pretty similar, and I already own AoD (but haven't played it) but I can't tell if the Darkest Hour is worth it.

That is a dumb reason for not trying out a game for free.

And you think a free weekend where the game is free to everyone who has a Steam account won't increase those numbers?

daviyoung said:
I don't have a download quota so I try everything that's free.

It's a multiplayer-centric game, that isn't particularly good, with barely anyone playing it. It's your bandwidth.

Q3 only with Team Arena? No sale id, no sale.
Nope, there both of them in my game library, Quake III Arena and Quake III: Team Arena. Anyway, why the hell d'you need to buy it? Did you ever heard about Quake Live, mate? :)

I mean in the sale, you can only buy Q3 in a bundle with TA and I don't want it.

As for Quake Live, I don't like it.

Also FO3 GotY Ed is only 25% off, so looks like nothing for me today.

Oh, dear lord, it's $3.74 to me! Double Fuck You, 1C.

Sorry, you probably saw the Crossworlds game of the series, I totally missed the part that the entire pack was on sale, so the 2,49€ is only for The Legend. I sorted out my post a minute ago so that the entire pack and individual prices are shown.

I am on Windows 7. It is working halfway now that I rebooted Steam. I say halfway because there is no sound. Awesome.

The game is very glitchy. I have issues with it as well crashing all the time. Waiting on a patch.

There will be more than "barely anyone" on the free weekend.

If free weekends for other games, like Monday Night Combat for example, are any indication, it won't receive all that substantial an increase in the total player base and the community will die again after the free weekend. And you're still left with the fact that Brink is essentially not all that good.

It's like being excited you found a bologna sandwich on the ground. With bits of glass and dirt ground into the bread. And it's stuck to the pavement by some freshly spat out chewed gum.

The_Player said:
Are you trollin me? Can't see shit.
I don't like to miss opportunities to troll people, but I'm serious. The price shows up for me on the game's page.

Also it seems like there will be daily sales, so hold off on buying anything that's not Doom or Quake (and I assume Brink).

60 bucks!

If one game is worth the 60 dollar price point it is probably this one, but still damn the man. Why am I paying console tax?

Yeah I'm not happy about that either, but I expected it after seeing Rage for $60. At least Rage is steamworks though so you can probably find it in the $40 range.

for those at work

Since I've upgraded to Windows 7, the disk version of Call of Cthulhu I have always takes an eternity on the installer and never boots up after it's finished 'installing'—I've even used another copy of the disk to similar results, so I presume there must be some compatibility issues.

Does anyone have any positive experience playing the Steam version on Windows 7 to encourage me to buy it during this sale? Not that I was exactly holding out for that $2 to be knocked off the price, but it's as good a time as any.
