Ronan's pretty cute.

And I was kind of underwhelmed with the Bastion demo. :/ Art and narration were nice, at least. Maybe I'll still give the full thing a chance, but not before a sale.
I don't know what levels the demo covers, but the game is pretty slow to start. It finally clicked for me once all the RPG mechanics came in to play after about 2-3 hours.

The game is easily worth more than $15 for me. Going to buy the OST released this morning to support SGG further.

I wont'call you cheap, because I'm waiting for a sale on From Dust. I'm buying Bastion full price because I want to support Kasavin and Company, which would be a much better name for the studio, now that I think about it.

Now that I've given it some thought, I'll pre-purchase Bastion if the impending Daily Deal is terrible.
I already own Limbo, and it's no Machinarium, so the Steam version will have to wait for a discount.

i will call you both cheap bastards that smell pretty bad and should feel bad

I got Limbo, From Dust and Bastion for less than pre-ordering one of these bigger games. Fuck waiting till the holiday sales, i know for sure im gonna play these asap.
I haven't preordered any those bigger games and I am not paying 15$ for Bastion when I was completely underwhelmed by the gameplay in the demo.

Also RAGE got confirmed to be steamworks so its bound to show up cheaper in another site, Deus ex style, and im smart enough to know not to get Bethesda games on release!

Therein lies the differentiator; I don't intend to pre-order one of the upcoming "AAA" titles.

I'd love to play Bastion, and feel free to call me spoiled by Steam sales, but $15 seems a tad high to me. It sounds even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that a mere $5 off the price would see me snap it up.

Perhaps I'll skip a lunch at Uni next week and use that saved coin for Bastion. And Limbo.

I'm a tight-arse at the moment as I intend to upgrade in a few weeks. :p
I won't pay full price for anything. Sales are plentiful and I have a backlog already.

This. Especially as a relatively new Steam user, I still have games like Deus Ex I haven't gotten into yet.

This is basically my cheap philosophy, with the exception of a few titles I'm very interested in. For instance, I preordered the deluxe version of Deus Ex: HR, even though it turned out later I got kind of screwed since the instore versions have the extra mission. I'm hoping that's not too big of a deal to miss out on.

Unless it is something I am super interested in, I have a great deal of time to wait for sales. It's not like I ever play games, anyway. :P

I highly approve of new games having a small sale if you preorder, though. I'm also more tempted to buy a major PC game on release if it's $30-40 instead of $50-60, even though either way I could still wait for sales.

I only pre-order at full price either games im really looking forward to, or indie games that show promise, i'll give you guys that.

Happy that i almost always kill 2 birds with one stone in that one.

So Morrowind is rumoured to be dropping to 10$ today right? Hope so, would pick that up.

edit: As for the full price discussion, yeah, Steam has made me realize it's hard to justify paying 60 bucks a pop for those day 1 releases, so those are becoming more and more rare for me. At least throughout the year, will be a few titles I get this fall at least.

Holy shit! Bastion's not only listed on Steam already, but it's out in just under two weeks? That's a sweet surprise. I wasn't expecting that to show up until fall :)

Morrowind and Oblivion 50% off individually.

Elder Scrolls pack 67% off (includes "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition Deluxe")

So...

Morrowind: $10
Oblivion: $12.49
Pack: $14.99

45 GB later, my internet connection is bleeding and I have installed every game of the Quakecon pack.

Quake 4 messes up my grid view, being named 4 rather than IV. :(

I can gift you the pack if you want. It's only $10 for me.

Thanks but I think I'll take this as a sign that I shouldn't wear myself out on Elder Scrolls so close to Skyrim's release. I mean I have already played both for hundreds of hours so I'm not missing out on much.

Shouldn't have mentioned it, fun to see people think they went on some drunken Steam buying binge and forgot.

It's a minor irritant of mine with Steam. Of course it's awesome we can get shit cheap, but it makes wanting to commit full price to anything pretty hard. Take Rage, mod tools are coming post-launch, a possible Crysis 2 style pretty patch, do I buy it day one, or do I buy it in six months when it's half the price and a better game?

Value is relative, and with games it's hard to say the age of a game really affects it's value to me, at least within a five or so year period.

Just bought Morrowind. Yippee!

And that Humble Indie pack... damn, at this point I'm just tempted to wait until the dire end, it keeps giving more and more!

Quick Question:

I just inherited a 30GB SSD so naturally it's just a boot drive. However I'm wondering if there's a benefit to installing the steam client on the SSD and making a symbolic link for the game files, or is it going to be the same as just installing everything on the HDD anyways?

Really fun game, though I wish they had added a game I don't already have =p
I recommend people starting off to start off to go to the main menu and start off a new game with modifiers "choosers" and perhaps "party wagon" (game starts you a game with no modifiers the first time you boot it). The game is too unbalanced for the Zed with random mercs (though this modifiers might make the game a bit too repetitive).

This was funny with one of the previous bundles. I forget what game got added, but people were all "Why is this in my library?"

i know oblivion is cheap and a great value but kinda disappointing since it was $6/$8 last year for goty/deluxe oblivion and $10/$12.49 now, they could at least match it.

Morrowind GoTY and The Mawesome Pack were simply irresistible. Maybe next time.

Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm can be added to EA's Origin :P

...tho you'll have to use EA's live chat to get them to add Bulletstorm for you.

That actually makes Bulletstorm more tempting since I have to maintain an Origin account anyways...hmm
