Ultimate and Final Doom are two different things. Ultimate is Doom 1 + one extra episode. Final Doom is two Episodes that are essentially expansions from teams other than Id.

You should start with Ultimate Doom. Once it's installed, just start up zDoom and it will see every Wad on your PC.

BTW, I just installed Quake 3 Arena and there are still active servers, even with Quake Live. That's awesome.
 
Okay, guys, I need help.

I tried playing Oblivion GoTY in Steam. The setup menu pops up, so I then press play game. Somehow the game crashes (Windows error) as soon as the Bethesda screen shows up =/

Yeah Q3A still lives because people like running tons of custom stuff on servers that I don't believe they would be able to in QL.
 
They need to make an up-res'd Quake 3 Arena; some higher resolution textures, new higher poly models and environments, nothing extravagant mind you, and have the same gameplay, same weapons, same maps, same levels. Sell that shit for 20$.

I'd kill for a genuine Quake or Unreal.

"153 games" Steam tells me now that I grabbed the Quakecon pack/RAGE/Skyrim deal and used my Humble Bundle pack codes. GAF, I think I may have a small self control problem . ;p

Is that a twinstick shooter? Is it any good? I might be in on that. Actually, see if someone from the US would be willing to host... it's a bit cheaper that way :)

Also, quicky for SteamGAF... should I wait for a sale on Limbo or should I jump in?

I'll be in for two copies, one for my brother (though I don't know how it would be best to gift to him... email?) and one for me. Find someone from the US for a fourth and we'll get it cheap, too!

1) Add internet browsing program to steam
2 Change steam target to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" www.quakelive.com
3) Change program name to "Quake Live"

I know you'd likely already know this but realistically all you need is the notification going up for your friends to know and then they'll join you themselves :)

Anyone else having framerate issues with Darksiders? I know my PC is way faster (i5 2500k w/ GTX 570) than it needs to be to run the game without issues, but the framerate is not great, especially in outdoor settings. :/

Are your drivers up to date? I beat the game using an NV 460 1 gb and even forced 8x AA and I was at 60 fps most of the time. You shouldn't have any issue running it.

Yea, I'm running the latest drivers, this is actually a brand new computer. I'm happy with performance in every game so far except Darksiders. I've heard there may be performance issues with Nvidia cards, but it sounds like you had no problems.

This irks me! Oh well...it's not unplayable or anything, just disappointing...dunno how to pinpoint the issue either.
 
I played more SiN 2 earlier, I'm starting to enjoy it actually. And I found a possible solution to my SiN 1 problem, so I might be playing that later.

Ya, my 5850 had problems with the game. Never had a stable frame rate, and it never felt like 60 fps.

Is vsync enabled in-game? That murdered performance on my system. Forcing it through D3Doverrider didn't cause the same problem.

I had this as well. A community made fix solved the problem, unfortunate I don't remember what its name, it was something from Nexus gate though. Try the unofficial patch it might solve the problem if it didn't I will search for that fix for you.
 
I'm having a problem with Starscape. How do you get the Scientific Discovery achievements? I'm already to the last zone but all I've unlocked is the first one (and I can't remember how I did it).

I thought maybe I just had to clear out a zone then find the friendly alien ship, but that didn't work for zone 4.

The patches will detect where Oblivion is installed and whether it's a Steam game right?

Same. If someone who can buy it for $10 felt like gifting it for paypal though I think that'd put me over the edge.
 
Meh what a waste of one of the QuakeCon days....Brink, same price as it was before. I was hoping it would be some kind of Misc. day (Hunted, Call of Cthulhu, Rogue Warrior, etc.) :/

I'm disappointed Rogue Warrior hasn't gotten cheaper. I know I'm gonna think it's a shitty game, but I'm still drawn to it.

I must fight the urge.

Regarding Brink and it's deal price, or the lack of.

We might have to wait some time, for all we know it could be a pricing error.
I don't think it's time yet to scold em for not lowering the price.
 
£15 is too much for brink, got it on day of release and regret it badly, the gameplay and concept is great but it runs very poorly and often quite laggy ingame, it feels half baked hwich is a shame as could have easily been the next TF2/BC2 team focused multiplayer. Not many people are playing it, however this is a sp mode but the AI team mates will not be very useful.

buy it cheaper at retail if you really want to play it, it's steamworks.
