To add to the playtimes of Fallout 3, I'm at 19 hours even in the GotY edition. That's main questline without much deviation and no DLC.

It's not a daily deal really. They threw it up there to promote the sniper hat.BigJiantRobut said:Wait, Brink is today's deal? Wasn't that the first day's deal?

BigJiantRobut said:Oh, so what is the daily deal? Because it says "a different deal each day" up top, but Brink's been 50% off all weekend.
StuBurns said:So from 25 to 250 hours, seems like your mileage my vary.

If it's your first time? Play as either Warrior or Mage (Paladin is relatively underpowered), and go for a "no loss" challenge.legend166 said:I beat New Vegas yesterday, and the next game in my backlog I'm going to play is Kings Bounty: Legend.
Any advice before I get started?

A big part of the game is managing your troops, and when they die you often have to spend a lot of gold to replace them: this part is really frustrating for most people, and gold isn't exactly abundant starting out. The "no loss" challenge is to get through each battle without any troops dying (and not being resurrected before the battle ends). It's hard, but perfect for beginners:
a) You save a lot of gold and get over the "goddammit I need to buy more archers" frustration that plagues most new players.
b) It forces you to approach each battle strategically and actually learn the game.
Another bit of advice is to avoid fights for as long as possible, and spend your early time exploring, collecting treasures and charts and stuff that are lying around. If there's a chest that's guarded by an enemy, you can aggro them and kite them away, then circle around and loot the chest before they catch you. Do this to build up your bank before you start fighting stuff.
Also, get the rage chest as soon as possible. It's the reward for the third mission (I think?).
You might prefer to start with Armored Princess, which is better-balanced and slightly friendlier to newbies, but the beginning of AP kinda spoils the end of the Legend. In either case, the 1c forums are invaluable for guidance.you save the world
Yes-ish, but there are ways around it. I am new to the King's Bounty series myself (only started after the Steam Summer Sale) and went straight to AP after running out of gold in The Legend, but what I've noticed is that the shops do have limits (like, 3 archmages) but sometimes there are multiple places to recruit (like, you can find archers all over the place).Blizzard said:Wasn't it the case for King's Bounty : Legend (perhaps all of those games) that you have a limited number of almost every unit? So if you lose too many archers, you can literally never replace them?
I seem to recall that early on in King's Bounty you were given some super weak units, and it seemed almost impossible to keep them alive. I might restart some time.

This! I really want the couch mode.Exuro said:So I messed with Onlive yesterday and the spectating feature is amazing. I'd love to see something like that come to Steam. Also, when in the world are they going to release/reveal big tv mode? It's been like half a year since they announced it.

Hate to break it to you, but it's the first 10 hours that suck.JaseC said:Oh, I'm well aware the meat of the game is quite good, but it's just unfortunate the opening of the game is so dull.
Petrie said:Does anyone know if you can activate the keys from Origin titles on Steam? I want to grab one of the battlefield games thats $5, but I'd like to be able to simply use it with Steam. Possible?
Also would you get BattleField 2 complete or Battlefield Bad Company 2?

I posted what I think is the correct list earlier in the page (so I think the answer is no):Petrie said:Does anyone know if you can activate the keys from Origin titles on Steam? I want to grab one of the battlefield games thats $5, but I'd like to be able to simply use it with Steam. Possible?

Kerub said:Hey, I'm desperately trying to get Quake 3 working on my Windows 7.
I've tried using radeon pro to turn off crossfire, compability mode with all possible options. And combining these in different ways.
It's still not playable. Everything flickers and when I move the mouse everything around the pointer starts to flicker.
Please help?

Steam has spoiled me. I have too much of a backlog to spend more than like $10 on anything.Sinatar said:Red Orchestra is coming soon.

The game might be interesting to try out but the ugly faces are really offputting.
I think it gets good before that, I'd say the first bit I really enjoyed was going thru the kiddie secret caverns.Dice said:Hate to break it to you, but it's the first 10 hours that suck.
