New release: Trauma (http://store.steampowered.com/app/98100) $6.99

TRAUMA tells a story of a young woman who survives a car accident. Recovering at the hospital, she has dreams that shed light on different aspects of her identity - such as the way she deals with the loss of her parents. TRAUMA lets you experience those dreams in an interactive way, reminiscent of Point-and-Click Adventure Games. It builds upon this established formula by introducing a gesture-based interface, real-time 3D technology for dynamic level layouts, unique photographic visuals and a level design philosophy that focuses on creating a rich experience rather than an elaborate puzzle challenge. Combined with the unconventional story, it is aimed to be a compact and deep game for a literate and mature audience.

No idea if it's any good.

Trauma looks like it could be awesome, or crap.

Well, they certainly had some high profile impressions in the trailer. One impression by a tale of tales guy and one by a member of ThatGameCompany.

i bought Bionic Commando off Steam a few days ago since Capcom dropped the regular price from $19.99 to $9.99 and i gotta say its pretty wikkid. i love throwing cars around at people with the bionic arm, throwing boulders, throwing people ...swinging around like friggin Spiderman. lol. fun game. kinda surprised that it had such mediocre reviews. 1080p/60fps/vsync'd/smooth as butter/native xbox pad support.

i'm gonna have to buy Bionic Commando Rearmed sometime soon now.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/21670/

(Capcom also dropped the price of Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 from $39.99 to $29.99 ...not much, but better than nothing. those were good games as well, imo.)

Bionic Commando is great online, but I think they killed the matchmaking server =\

No idea if it's any good.

Having read the impressions here by John Walker, I'm not so sure it's anything for me, but I like the idea. The plot/idea reminded me in a way of Psychonauts. There seems as noted in the post that you can try it out on the webpage, so anyone on the fence, well, go on and try it out! A bit short though, I might add, seemingly only an hours worth.

What should I get to mod Morrowind? I checked that Morrowind 2011 thread, and the site was taken down.

Someone linked to a website that still hosts it earlier in this thread. Also, there is a torrent out there with it that has a few seeders. Also on TESNexus if you go to files, categories, there is a Morrowind Category with a ton of mods.

Thanks. I checked a few pages back, and found it.

For Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals, have it haven't played it yet but when I did my obligatory is it worth $5 at the time I found the reviews to be decent plus there's a movie that I believe you should watch before you play the game because IIRC the game drops you in to this universe that you know nothing about.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_(2004_film)
Excerpt:
Immortal (French: Immortel (ad vitam)) is a 2004 English language, French-produced science fiction film, directed by Enki Bilal and based upon his comic book La Foire aux immortels (The Carnival of Immortals). The film combines live action footage with computer animation, and received mixed reviews. It is notable as being one of the first major films (along with Casshern and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow) to be shot entirely on a "digital backlot", blending live actors with computer generated surroundings. Immortel goes one step further than those films, however, in also having live actors interacting with semi photo-realistic CGI "humans" (as opposed to films such as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and The Lord of the Rings film trilogy which featured fantasy creatures).

Benoit Sokal, the man responsible for both Syberia games, is involved with Nikopol so chances are it's decent. I'm going to pick it up along with Trauma.

So....Trauma, well, right...I guess if you're really into hipster, indie bullshit games you'll probably really like it. It reminds me of that Dinner Date game "Oh, let's have some guy talking to himself for 20 minutes, games as art all up in this bitch, motherfucker!" You actually get to do stuff in Trauma, but well, it's just not very gamey.

Looks like this weekend has been fairly successful for Zenimax. I'm glad to see them go all in with their Steam support, unlike certain other entities.

The comic series by Enki Bilal is brilliant. The movie is meh at best; starts alright, but can't keep the atmosphere up, and it has some boring stretches that are hard to get over. The game has some weird puzzles and is very linear, but not horrible.

So I guess you should start with the comic series. Then check out the game.

What a glorious month for Steam! Limbo, From Dust, Bastion, Rock of Ages, Edge, Trauma, Deus Ex: HR.

My wallet is crying. I'm also looking forward to Dead Island right after Labor Day weekend when I get back from Dragon*Con.

Goddamnit I just realized that I missed out on the New Vegas DLC. If I buy it full price, does that mean I can feel satisfied with myself since I'd be supporting Obsidian more than the half-price cheapos?

How in the hell am I suppose to keep up with all that pc gaming goodness with a 100+ game backlog?

Rock of Ages up for preorder! Normally $9.99, will be $8.99 for 10% pre-order discount:

Comes out August 31st.
Yes! I loved Zeno Clash, so I'm definitely down for Rock of Ages day one.

Their discription of it is pretty great too.

A rock-solid combination of rock-rolling action, deep strategy, and captivating art and music from different ages of history, this is a game of crush or be crushed!
Two castles stand opposed; one is yours, the other is your enemy’s. They're a jerk and their castle sucks, so you’re going to try to smash it using an enormous boulder.

All they have to do is lower them another 10 dollars and then they'll be able to break the 10 dollar barrier during the major sales.

Atlus is a great publisher :D

Dang, I didn't know Atlus published PC games. I haven't played Zeno Clash yet (bought it in the last sale) but I'll put this one on my wishlist.

Bought them day before they went on sale during the summer

Pretty much all Capcom titles dropped $10 last month. Dark void is now also 9.99. RE5 is 19.99. Flock dropped to 4.99.

i grabbed Dark Void as well. that also seems good. the buddy that does the voice of Nathan Drake (Uncharted) does the voice acting for the main character in this, too.

seems kinda like a sci fi Uncharted ...with better shooting mechanics. more like Gears of War style shooting than Uncharted's, which i prefer.

it also has hardware PhysX, which is a nice addition.

I've been quite interested in Dark Void, more as a curiosity than anything. It's made by the studio that Kim Swift now works at.

Nikopol is designed by Benoit Sokal(Amerzone and Syberia games) so by that pedigree it's worth to try at that price for an adventure game fan.

Hmm... Looked pretty interesting, chuck-full-of-humor, great game based on the videos to me until I noticed this in the description:
Use an amazing variety of units to defend your tower and knock your enemy off course.
I pretty much have no interest in the tower-defense genre, so this is taking away a lot of my interest in it. The rest of it looks great, but unless the tower-defense components are minimal/ignoreable for the most part (which it doesn't really look to be from the screenshots), not sure if I'll get this... The wrecking stuff with a giant boulder definitely peaks my interest, but having to deal with a strategy/tower-defense component makes me reluctant... Will have to think about this one, unless it does turn out to be something that even people who aren't fans of tower defense can really enjoy.

It was developed by White Birds, but I don't think Benoit Sokal had anything to do with it.

Well Benoit is/was the founder of White Birds so I believe he something to do with it?

It's a great adventure game with a really cool setting. Unfortunate that they weren't able to continue the storyline after the ending. Really the graphic novels though, after playing it.
