Steam Summer Sale '16 "Post your haul" Thread- GAZE UPON THY BACKLOG & DESPAIR

Not much this sale:

Concrete Jungle
Six Sides of the World
Dropsy
Gemini: Heroes Reborn
American Truck Simulator
Rebel Galaxy

Felt okay about American Truck Simulator at only 20% because of the map rescaling and the free Arizona expansion, plus I like supporting SCS. Rebel Galaxy was a last-minute addition, thought about waiting longer but decided to splurge. Concrete Jungle got a few GAF mentions and I've seen bits and pieces on Twitter, plus I saw it last sale from the discovery queue and thought it was neat. Everything else was cheap enough to take a chance on.

Total cost was about $50 CAD, two thirds of which was ATS and Rebel Galaxy.

In an effort to somewhat limit myself (considering I already have a backlog of 30ish games) I mostly stuck with a policy of only buying stuff that was 50% or more off. Didn't go broke, so I suppose it paid off. The haul:

Civilization V: Brave New World
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack
Age of Empires Legacy Bundle
DEFCON
The Binding of Isaac
Luftrausers
Please, Don't Touch Anything
Downwell

The Damage: $23.90

I didn't buy a lot this time since I still have an enormous backlog I should at least continue. So just some cheap games from my wishlist:

The Last Tinker™: City of Colors
Got this for my girlfriend, since she's into 3D platformers. Looks kind of nice!

Geometry Wars™ 3: Dimensions Evolved
I can't be bothered with story mode, but to be able to play the classic modes is really nice.

Stardew Valley
Controls on a controller are kind of wonky so far, but love the Harvest Moon on steroids gameplay.

Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming
Fun little JRPG homage, everyone should get this!

Hand of Fate
I played 30 minutes so far and I like the concept, which sounds stranger than it is: card game, text adventure with batman combat.

Tomb Raider GOTY Edition
It's only 7.50!

Stardew Valley
Love it. Its a very relaxing timesink with a BIG "one more turn" mentality.

Dead Rising Franchise Pack (2, Off the Record, 3 and DLC for all)
Loved Dead Rising one way back when. Played 2, but I'm willing to go back and play it again, as well as OTR and 3 before 4 this winter.

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition
Got this to co op with a friend. Not sure how I feel yet. We suck pretty bad as we haven't fully grasped it. We get the combat, but still lose. Need to do some reading on it.

Shatter
Good brick breaker with AWESOME music. The soundtrack edition is 20 cents more so do yourself a favor.

Shadowrun Dragonfall
Haven't played yet. Excited though.

Ended up getting:
DOOM
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Shadowrun Returns
Shadowrun Hong Kong
Shadowrun Dragonfall
D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

One of my friends gifted me Ys VI too. Dunno when I'll actually PLAY any of these but it was a good sale for me.

I bought $200 in Steam Wallet cards at Best Buy with that sale they had for $180 and that was the "limit" I set but I splurged and got a GeForce 1070 and wanted a couple higher end games to put it through its paces and went over to spend around $225 total ($205 out of my pocket with that discount on the cards).

Bioshock - $2.71
Papo & Yo - $2.24
Soundodger+ - $1.99
Kalimba - $3.39
Camera Obscura - $0.49
12 Labours of Hercules - $0.50
Parallax - $2.49
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Launch - $22.49
Circa Infinity - $3.99
Timberman - $0.49
Lowglow - $1.99
Recursion Deluxe - $1.24
LostWinds: The Blossom Edition - $3.74
Just Cause 3 - $29.99
DOOM - $35.99
ClaDun x2 - $7.99
Savant - Ascent Steam Store and Retail Key - $0.99
Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon - $3.24
The Room - $1.24
This Starry Midnight We Make - $2.49
Turmoil - $7.99
Leap of Fate - $9.59
Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden - $3.99
The Swindle - $5.99
The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human - $4.99
Poi - $8.99
Dungelot - $2.49
Refunct - $1.49
The Hurricane of the Varstray -Collateral hazard- - $3.19
Idle Civilization - $2.99
Plantera - $1.79
Slime Rancher - $15.99
Otem's Defiance - $2.79
Learn Japanese To Survive! Hiragana Battle - $2.79
Inexistence - $2.99
Solitairica - $7.19

DOOM, Just Cause 3, and The Witcher 3 I normally would have let drop a bit lower before buying (or in The Witcher's case I have it on PS4 but haven't even touched it). This is roughly tied with what I've spent on one or two of the sales before as I usually hit closer to $100-200 without going over usually.

Nothing too fancy.

Goddess Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
Ori and The Blind Forest: Definitive Edition
Darksiders II: Definitive Deathinitive Edition
Resident Evil 6
Batman: Arkham Origins.

Very little. This is probably the sale I spent the least on since I first started using Steam, actually. My biggest purchase was Zero Time Dilemma, which wasn't even part of the sale.

Ended up also grabbing:

Subnautica
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Transformers: Devastation

Really wanted to get VA-11 Hall-A, SteamWorld Heist and Phantom Brave but money's a bit tight right now and they all had little to no discount, so they can wait a bit. Now I'm getting that last minute urge to grab one last thing but I have no idea what. Probably should just ignore it...

I thought about getting Bulletstorm but I was worried about all the GFWL issues. Did you already look into that and test it to make sure you can play it? I'd suggest doing that during the refund window just in case you have issues since it seems some people in the discussion forum for the game make it sound like it can be impossible to play on certain set-ups.

I loved the game on 360 and would really like to see another one eventually. I think current rumors are that a possible remaster might be around the corner after People Can Fly got the rights back? Not sure if that was debunked or it's still floating around.

It was a slow year for me, didn't really have many games I don't already own or haven't played to warrant another purchase.

Not much damage was done here. Bought a lot more last year.

Would have bought Witcher 3 if cheaper, but I'm not going to be able to play it for a while so might as well wait for the price to drop for that game and expansion when I can play it. So I think I'm done... unless someone can convince to buy something else...

I am interested in the telltale games, but I'd much prefer to play them on Android because they are perfect for the situations where I have to travel and want to play something light. Problem is that I don't know when they are on sale or if they even are with the in app purchasing.

Really enjoying the games I've bought, completed the room, nice little puzzle game. Started Dex, but I think I'll prefer it with my one controller.

Altogether, probably only about £15. Might buy a couple more before the end

Max Payne 2
Max Payne 3
Transformers: Devastation
Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut
Ys Origin
Bioshock 2 + Minerva's Den
Tales from the Borderlands
Crypt of the Necrodancer
Transistor

About $50 total.

Bought the following (not all Steam sale):

1. LostWinds
2. LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias
3. Ittle Dew
4. Enter the Gungeon
5. Odallus: The Dark Call
6. Oxenfree
7. System Shock: Classic
8. System Shock: Enhanced Edition
9. VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action

Transformers Devestation
Blood One Unit Whole
Hexen
Serious Sam 3 dlc
Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Still considering Ys Origin, Axiom Verge, Shantae: Pirates Curse, and Momodora.

Axiom Verge and Momodora are both fantastic and well worth it. I forget which Shantae is which but the GBA game that was ported seemed okay from the hour or so I played but I'd put that below those two games. If that's the more recent Shantae game than I don't have any experience with that one.

Ys games are neat but I'm no expert. Would that be your first? I think most people are fond of that one but I've only really put time into I and II and I think the series is a good time from that (and I think most people would put those two below most the other releases).

Total damage 53.58 euros for my personal purchases:

The Fall 1.99e
Momodora III 0.99e
Crypt of the Necrodancer 3.74e
Subnautica 11.99e -> for VR
Transformers: Devastation 9.99e
Pony Island 2.99e
3DMark 4.99e
Chariot Royal Edition 5.09e
Raiden IV Overkill 3.74e
Monkey Island 2: Special Edition 2.49e
Civ 5 Complete 5.58e (got everything else from a bundle before, but was missing the last expansion and the probably-useless mini DLCs)

Also just traded Fault: Milestone One and TIS-100.

Was tempted to buy Doom, and probably would have if I hadn't just discovered and started playing Shadow Warrior (2013) from my backlog. Fantastic game and kinda scratches the same itch, now I can wait for a better sale on Doom.

For work I bought reference games for VR, storytelling, game mechanics:
Windlands 15.99e
Apollo 11 VR 9.74e
Unseen Diplomacy 2.99e
Water Bears VR 7.99e
Solus Project + The Ball 14.14e
Audioshield 14.99e
POLLEN 11.49e
Half-Life 1.99e
Half-Life 2 1.99e
Undertale 6.99e
