Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Wii Finally Confirmed !!!

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Nothing that runs on Wii hardware ever looks good.

Even when it does run on Wii hardware it looks better when it's not known that it runs on Wii hardware. :(

Well the Wii port is known to run on Wii hardware so it is guaranteed to look like shit.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(
:lol Awesome

When did I say importing was a requisite of being a fan? Maybe you need to reread my posts. I said not being interested in this game until it was announced for Wii would incline me to exclude you from the fighting game fan label. Since then Borghe has stated he was very much interested in the game before it was announced for Wii.
No, you said that a fan would be in the famitsu thread speculating which console it would be on, but since the content is likely to result in non-distribution to the west, importing would be required. You're just backpedaling.

And I'm not sure about your "most get American releases" comment, but whatever you say ace.
If you don't include revisions then I'm pretty sure they do, even if only eventually in some package. Then again, you also thought that MvC2 was the most recent Capcom VS game.

The kid/casual friendly minigames included and the Wii exclusive character are, at least, embarassing.
A math related minigame? WTF

I didn't expect to wake to even more whining and bitching that can be found in this thread, as well as from other forums. Holy shit.:lol

So if I install the homebrew channel to do this, there is nothing Nintendo can do about it? No future firmware, games, or anything that will limit anything I can do on the Wii?

What if my Wii breaks someday and I need to send it in to Nintendo to have my VC games transfered to a new Wii. Are they going to take one look at the Homebrew Channel and say "Your broke the ToS kid, your out of luck"?
The guys that make the HBC say that is completely free of these problems. We will see next Firmware update. However, the HBC can be completely uninstalled if you wish to do so. All the Apps store on the SD card, not the Wii.

Also I am not sure if the HBC voids the warranty, but personally my Wii warranty expired so its fine.

It's just like freeloader, you have to have a little faith in it, and back up your stuff.

So is the game even technically possible to work with PS2 hardware?

Because, I kinda wanna play this.
As of right now, no.

Seriously who knows.

BTW, I have a question about the arcade board. It was rumored to use Wii related hardware. But as I remember it was never confirmed. What's the name of the board?

needs gc controller support. gc hori pad even with its stupid button layout >>>>>> classic controller

(also needs dante)

Yes. 3.3 is the cut-off point.
Assuming the game doesn't come with an update necessary to play it. Unnecessary updates can be skipped, but if for some reason the game doesn't play nice with current Wii firmware (like Brawl did), then you'd be screwed.

But that's assuming a lot of unlikely things.

Okay, my firmware is version 3.2u ... any idea if I can just pick up freeloader and play this game?
Or you could update the firmware and get the Homebrew Channel instead, which is also costless and easy to install. :D

That was actually meant to be a bit of humor tacked onto my main point. I think you are ignoring where my post was coming from - what I was responding to - and what I was saying at the most basic level. I thought Borghe showed no interest in the game because of his comment. I misunderstood Borghe. I myself was in that thread and I offered no real speculation on what console the game was going to. So I guess I was calling myself a non-fan of the genre as well, right?

It's only assumed we will never see this game in the west. Besides depending on which console/consoles the game was announced for the trouble involved with playing the game as an import would have been negligible. Let's not argue the textbook definition of import. We all know the connotations that are attached to the word and the trouble surrounding it is the main reason people shy away from it.

Note I'm still not saying, nor have I ever said importing is a requisite of being a fighting game fan. I said he wasn't a fan of the genre because he didn't seem to care about the game until it was announced on Wii (which proved to be an incorrect assumption). If my definition of a fan[atic] displeases you then... well... I don't know what to tell you.

Lol. Keep beating that horse. I guess I gave you an opening by being wrong and admitting to it, right? Damn my fallibility.

Anyway, revisions are usually a big deal including more characters, different mechanics, etc. so I don't know why you'd exclude them. I guess it depends on how long you feel like waiting because the US got KoF XI and Battle Coliseum pretty late. No GG AC+, Sengoku Basara X, Hokuto no Ken. No Spectral vs Generation. No Rumble Fish. A laundry list of anime fighters.

i did want to see this come to the ps3 due to region free, but if capcom usa actually seems like they are trying to make an effort to get this stateside, then its cool if it comes to the wii. what i want to know is when im gonna get my damn rival schools collection...

Funny, people tell Wii owners to do this every week.

Epic post. And holy HELL at the number of bitter tears and BANS this game has caused. This is almost amazing. Is this game really that awesome? :lol People are going apeshit. Tons of bans in this thread.

I haven't read this whole thread. I hopes this comes to North America. As for controls, they have the classic control, and for the standard wii control they will make it work kke the easy mode on Capcom vs SNK2 for the Gamecube. the longer you press the button makes it register the gared motion. that helps takes the the 4 buttons down to 2 for the wii nes control style the standard remothe can turn into.

No kidding! And this will be like Jump Superstars and will never come out over here in its original Japanese format.

I am tempted to finally get a second Japanese flavored Wii but I'll need more than one game to justify. No way in hell I'm doing the Twilight hack on my North American box.

fixed :lol

Seriously though, I'm amped. A tad more amped than for SFIV, especially since this is coming out sooner.

Hot damn! I forgot all about this. Wii buy for SamSho and KOF:OC. I hope TvC has a limited edition print with a fighting stick. I remember hearing the Hori sticks aren't that good from somewhere on GAF...I think it was from Donkey show. They look awesome aesthetically at least :p

As for the comment about the Hori sticks for the Wii, they're basically the same as the PS3 Hori Fighting Stick/SC4 etc. Decent, but not outstanding. I will mod both of mine for octagonal gates and semitsu buttons real soon.

Jump! Super Stars and Jump! Ultimate Stars had more chance of coming here.

They didn't.

Edit: AAAND somebody made the same comment to posts above mine. :(

Any good PS2 to NGC controller adapter?
I have this:
1-2.jpg

but the buttons assignment with a Hori Real Arcade Pro is awful, some buttons doesn't work.

The capcom guy said he was looking in to it, i know that doesn't mean much.....

With Jump though, most of those series aren't well known here besides 4 big ones

Ok, I hope for tomorrow we can past the "isn´t my console of choice" crisis, to reach the "I must accept reality" stage. -___-U

so basically, gecko or anyreg?

let's hope it doesn't have a weird panel mechanic/storyline like JSS..man, that game was so hard to get into without a proper translation

You're embarassed by minigames?
LOL seriously. Like the math minigame is going to affect the main game at all. It's not like it's mandatory to play to get the full effect of the game... or is it? o_O

Now people who don't own Wiis, know EXACTLY what it's like being a Wii-only owner, in regards to 3rd party support.

Better rent a raft to ride down your rivers of tears.

Any other games using this arcade board?

Has the board been officially shown yet? I would think that this announcement confirms that it is Wii-based would would be good news for everyboby considering how expensive the boards were getting.

It could also be super fun, Capcom knows what they are doing so I trust if they put a mini game in there will be some entertainment to be had

I cant wait for this game to come out, perfectly fine for me to import it if no US release. I had to do that for years with the Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamecube, and even PS2

i think is enough with the tp hack, hbc, there some advances in getting ''back-ups'' running direct on the console, including japanese ones iirc.

Yatterman is more known in the West than Rurouni Kenshin?

I like Sven's thought and devotion, but I really have no hopes for him to accomplish anything. Not even Wright could sort the legal mess in this one.

Never said that. But there was alot of different series's in Jump that never came here. However with Jump theres not many companies to deal with if you were to licence stuff. In all honesty how many companies would you have to go through with Jump, I can only count 4 Shuiesa, Viz, Toei, and Funimation.

Thats off topic of course, but I'm wondering how "bad" is it with TvC. At one point on SRK, one poster made a list of all the characters up to that point and their "legal status" a few months ago, it seemed like there wasn't to much to go through, but of course theres alot more characters now. If the game never come here it never comes, its not to bad for me because i cant play it anyway :lol
