AntMurda said:I don't understand why Yoshio Sakamoto's group at Nintendo is soo small. Sakamoto literally has like 4-5 Nintendo programmers that work under him. If he wants to work on 2-3 games, he generally has to grab a couple of his top designers and they have to find hired guns to program their games.
Why won't Iwata give this man more firepower. Unless it's Sakamoto's own peculiar ways or shyness that have forced him into this position.
Yoshio Sakamoto has always been a brilliant graphic designer and story writer.
I don't believe it's them as it's not their style.Cow Mengde said:My guess is Production IG. They have experience working with Intelligent Systems on the Fire Emblem FMVs.
GrotesqueBeauty said:As a fan of the series this is all very confusing. I'm equal parts anticipatory, skeptical, and befuddled. I'm really happy that they're doing it in 3rd person, but the emphasis on story and melee action makes me wary. I keep wondering when they're going to revisit the series' more open ended roots again. Every entry recently seems to be a lateral side step. Sakamoto's involvement gives me more faith than anything else though.
Woah, what? I noticed something in the background out of the corner of my eye, but I thought it was just another purple beast. I didn't even realize it was cloaked. And I've watched this gif loop like several dozen times now. :lolEmCeeGramr said:![]()
I just realized that there's an invisible chameleon enemy behind them.

No, we haven't. Prime and MZM are the only ones that generally tap into the classic hands-off style of presentation and exploration, and even they have some notable caveats. There is so much untapped potential left in the formula laid down by the first three games that it's embarrassing. It's like the series is ashamed of embracing the conventions it helped pioneer, even though doing so would set it apart from other contemporary adventure games 1000 times more than any of the avenues they've pursued following Super Metroid. No one is going to arguethe fact that they've all been technically polished, but the Metroid games released in this decade have strained bonds to the classic games. What fan service goes into the details is counterbalanced by the less faithful overarching structure of the games.SpacePirate Ridley said:We have played incredible classic metroids in a small amount of time.
To be honest, by this logic, they should just drop a planet destroying bomb on anything that's hostile. If samus has a suit that can destroy ANYTHING the way she does, surely an entire ship can completely fuck over some shit.Scrubking said:If you could shoot ice beams and rockets from 50 yards away would you run up to enemies to kung-fu them?

If I could also kung-fu them, why not? I'd certainly do it for shits.Scrubking said:If you could shoot ice beams and rockets from 50 yards away would you run up to enemies to kung-fu them?

Obviously Samus is confident and doesn't mind getting a little dirty, I don't know about the rest of the guys here but I like 'em dirty, she's not afraid to get up close and personal. Shes got moxy that girl.Scrubking said:If you could shoot ice beams and rockets from 50 yards away would you run up to enemies to kung-fu them?

Most of the grapple moves end in her shooting them. She's basically just setting up for a kill shot.Scrubking said:If you could shoot ice beams and rockets from 50 yards away would you run up to enemies to kung-fu them?
Hell yes. I vote for the Ridley theme. Their version is fantastic.ninja4junpei said:I was just thinking, they really need to get the Metroid Metal guys to do the soundtrack for this or at least a song.

Eh. It could be good, it could be fun, but I'm miles from convinced. I don't have faith Team Ninja can pull off a good Metroid game, nor can do the franchise justice under a different genre or spin.
She does throw people around, kick, tackle, and smack people with her arm cannon in Smash Bros. I don't see her moves here as anything out of place.
