The GTA: Vice City R/C Helicopter Mission...Worst Ever?

Is this the worst mission of any game from the past 20 years? I nearly put my fist through a wall completing it and nearly quit the game entirely...

Is this the worst or was there another certain mission that makes your blood boil just thinking about it?

I did it on my iPad just the other day. OP needs to get better at playing games :p

Rockstar made it too reality. I got a toy R/C helicopter from my brother, and it is so hard to control.

San Anreas R/C plane mission was impossible with mouse keyboard then, gamepad only, in fact many of the missions were impossible with k/m.

IT MUST BE NOTED: They made the plane mission MUCH easier in the game of the year/playstation classics whatever rerelease it was.

If you have played san andreas recently chances are you played a version of that mission that is MUCH easier.

Vice city was worse. At least with the San Andreas missions they put you up high so you could learn in the air.

Vice City's RC mission was hell on Earth. And the plane mission when you're dropping flyers was somehow worse.

Is this a joke? The vice city RC mission is stupidly easy. I always get it on my first try. Just fly high enough to avoid the construction workers.

The San Andreas one is nightmare fuel though.

I couldn't believe how easy it was when I finally played it on Xbox. After using KB+M on a PC years before which caused me to rage quit I was dreading getting up to that point. I think the mission where you have to protect Vance at the garbage dump was the most frustrating for me in Vice City.

Well the VC helicopter missions weren't that bad, but the Zero missions were awful: The PS2 version was so hard it was made ten times easier on every other platform out there.

To be honest, I can't remember the RC mission in Vice City (playing it on iOS so I'll probably get to it soon).

But Zero's mission with the mini plane in San Andreas is the worst shit ever. I love GTA, but fuck that mission. Awful.

Huh, I never had any problem with those missions. I had to replay the one in Vice City a couple of times maybe, but that wasn't as hard as I heard from my friends and on the internet. Hell, since GTA went 3D I only had two missions that blocked me for weeks, and both were in GTA III.

i remember san andreas being long and running out of fuel based on flying technique. I do not really remember the vice city one

This. Zero's missions in PS2 San Andreas were hell.

My brother quit playing San Andreas due to that stupid RC plane mission and I've never made it there myself so I dont know the pain lol

But the vice city one was pretty easy back on ps2.

I'll try to beat San Andreas one of these days B^)

I got pissed off the first couple times while doing the mission last week actually (it was where I gave up on the game years ago), but I reconfigured my control setup and found my innner zen and did it on like the 4th try.

My biggest issue with returning to Vice City and the older GTA's is the sheer amount of random bullshit that can fuck up a mission. The missions themselves are rarely longer than 5 minutes so it felt like the game was padded out by retires from stupid mistakes. I did pretty much every mission in the game, but skipped the taxi, police, etc. missions because I wanted to move on. I'd love a remake with mission structure more in line with Gay Tony.

I didn't know the Vice City one was hard for people. I always thought that was really easy.

The San Andreas one is legendarily bad though.

It's not that the mission is hard, it's short and simple. It's the mindbogglingly shit controls and terrible camera. The difficulty comes from how terrible the helicopter is and how hard it is to maneuver in the tight stair cases and do so quickly.

I have no idea how I did the GTA RC plane missions when I played them the first time, don't even remember them sending me into a rage. And this was with mouse and keyboard.

They're impossible now. With any control scheme.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Vice City one was a piece of piss.

The San Andreas ones were forged by Lucifer himself.

I recently finished the Vice City R/C mission on pc. I couldn't believe how awkward it was to control that damn thing.

The plane mission from San Andreas is just .... I don't even know how something can be so frustrating.

Both are pretty hard if I remember correctly. San Andreas one is the stuff of nightmares.

Maybe they'll put one of these missions in GTA V.

That helicopter mission was the last one I played in Vice City--I gave up on not just the game, but the series.

I skipped San Andreas but did pick up GTA IV--and after 5 hours wished I hadn't. Terrible controls, lousy/no checkpointing, a character that controlled like he was riding a bicyle (that Euphoria nonsense), needy friends--I was not in the camp that thought GTA IV was the greatest thing since ice cream.

However, I enjoyed the two expansions. They finally adding checkpointing that was worth a damn, streamlined the experience and removed a lot of the bullshit, and to me, finally figured out how to make the series fun. I loved the motorcycles in TLATD. It'll be interesting to see what direction GTA V takes.

This was a bad one. Another bad Vice City one was one where you had to get into a white van and getaway but there were too many freaking dudes (Cubans?) shooting at me and I kept dying over and over.

That RC plane mission was a pain in the balls alright. Took me numerous attempts to finally beat the friggin thing.

Dunno if it's the worst in the series though. That mission towards the end of the first game where you had to crush all of the vendor carts dotted through the city within a time limit sucked big time as well.

The San Andreas one is tough, but it takes me a maximum of 3 tries to clear. Two friends challenged me to do it 3 or less (as a cover to clear it for them lol), and I managed it both times.

I don't even remember there being one in Vice City, so it can't be that hard at all.

ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN CJ!

above was worse

Had to look this up on youtube because I totally forgot bt it, looked easy enough in the video but then again I don't remember my own experience with that particular mission. Though it got me reminded of how a lot of chase sequences in GTA games are designed to put you through predefined obstacles before you could actually complete those missions. *groan*

And what's with characters from GTAV commenting on these youtube videos anyway...

The helicopter mission on Vice City was easy, seriously I finished it in two tries on my iPad with touch screen controls.

The RC Plane mission on San Andreas was way harder, and if you said it was easy please do not talk unless you played the launch PS2 version. The launch PS2 version had a glitch where your fuel depleted even if you were gliding, meaning you had to complete the entire mission in under 5 minutes. This was patched in the Xbox, PC, and GOTY PS2 editions.

I did beat it on the launch PS2 version, but it was by far the most frustrating GTA mission I have played.

But it was an optional mission man.

It was, but the next mission was cities apart. I was too determined/lazy to let this one go as I did all of the optional missions up until this point. I used to be a completist until I played this fucking game. Ever since, I've stopped giving fucks about optional missions.

Fuck. This must be the reason why I couldn't finish this shit!

Yeah I definitely had my PS2 copy on release day. Jesus so many times you would just run out of gas on the way to the last target.

Well shit I didn't know it was a glitch. That makes me feel kind of badass for doing it back in the day, even if it took 60 attempts and multiple controller throws.

I quit GTAIV on Four Leaf Clover, I know I'm lame = / Still stuck on it to this day. I can make it out of the bank, through the alley, through the subway, then when I get to the driving it all comes apart.

Closest I ever got was after coming out of the subway I escaped the police search radius, after switching cars three or four times due to damage. Got detected again after I got the cop badges to start flashing then got exploded while trying to switch vehicles again when I got stuck on a fire hydrant. It's been over 2 years since that attempt.

I love the Vice City helicopter mission and can beat it pretty easily, but my brother quit the game over it and pretty much stopped gaming altogether, so...

As for Supply Lines in San Andreas, it was a good challenge on PS2 but my old ass did it so it couldn't have been that hard.
