Super Mega Worm & StarDunk got Game Center updates. HELL yeah! Both are excellent games.
Super Mega Worm is indeed awesome. I actually just beat it tonight with a score of just over 400,000.

I really hope that the upcoming achievements are retroactive.

Bought Grand Theft Auto for the iPad last night. My first time playing Chinatown Wars and I must say I'm pretty impressed. Updated graphics look very good considering this was originally a DS game. Having a blast with it so far. Totally worth $9.99!

I feel bad now :( I only had one code for GAF. I will distribute a promo code through Twitter in about 9 hours from writing this post (11 pm GMT+3). Follow @onemorecoin for that, and feel free to unfollow later. It's an Arabic account and you don't have to torture yourselves by following it. The giveaway will be in English just for you guys. Hope everyone's happy now!

Now, I do have an important question. I have a 3GS, with tons of apps and games. What's the proper procedure for migrating to iPhone 4? Will I lose anything in the process? For example, will I keep my progress in Angry Birds and my Canabalt highscores, etc?

You will lose nothing.

NOTHING!

Sync your old device, then, when activating the second one, choose to restore it from archive.

Saves, setting - it'll all be there.

Quick question, how is Crimson Gen Saga on iphone? i've read some average reviews but personally I am fine with a little grinding and fetch questing, gaf thoughts? It's £2.99 so a good price for an rpg.

Sega's putting out Altered Beast and Gunstar Heros next, not sure I'm going to get either one though...

It's an awesome game for that price get it! Great animations, some VA, and nice graphics with only minor UI flaws :)

It feels like a proper console JRPG rather than a mobile phone game. The only issues with the port are 1) no support for multitasking (though you can save anywhere) and 2) a lower framerate than the PSP version (though it still runs smooth and consistently). It actually feels more polished than Chaos Rings.

stardunk is quite fun. i saw it recommended before but only now got a chance to try it out. don't be too fooled by the ratings, they're from people complaining about the fact you have to log in to a Plus account or something

Gaf should I buy Shining Force for the Iphone?
Despite the virtual d-pad, I find that it plays well on the iPhone. I'm not sure how I'd get through my work day without some turn based action. Here's hoping that Sega ports the sequel.

Super Mega Worm is awesome, I don't think the appeal will last forever but I'm hooked at the mo, even got a blister on my left thumb so I've had to stop for a while :lol

Shame it only has 2 stars as some people say it isn't working on their device.

Change that "will" to "should" and you'd be right. You should lose nothing, but my friend did lose his Angry Birds & Implode progress, even though everything else on the phone copied over with their saved data.

I know, I can't believe it either but I can look at his iPhone 3G, and have him make a backup with the game in progress, then restore the backup to his iPhone 4 and the game installs as it should be when he restores a second time to be sure, those two games begin from scratch.

Just a word of warning. Personally I didn't have the problem he has. Everything I've tried still keeps it.

Kingsburg is out. One of my favorite board games right now.
Stealing some impressions from BGG since I think they're spot-on:
First impressions: Incredibly beautiful graphics! Really does justice to the beauty of the print version. The help system is genius! Game play, however, is a little odd compared to say BSW. I've barely begun my first game so I hope to have more to say about it later.

My first overall impression of the quality of this release is that it is a notch above Small World, perhaps right with Tichu, but not quite up there yet with Samurai and Carcassonne (because they have better online multiplayer capabilities). Of course I value online multiplayer abilities more. From a 1-player game perspective, this game is right up there with those others. Can't tell you much about the AI yet.

Way way back I had to go through like 3 restores to get all my data back in order, but the recent updates (4.0 and 4.1) have been fine for me.

Other than possible screwups like that, the Com2Us stuff is locked to the device. So if you have a Baseball Slugger/Home Run 3D/whatever it is now save when you go to a new phone your data will be gone and you have to make a new account to play online. Supposedly they've made this suck slightly less on newer games but it's still a retarded setup I think.

Do you really need another copy of Altered Beast!? :lol

I must have at least half a dozen myself in some form or other and they're all crap.

Naw, he bought Crimson Gem Saga after my glowing recommendation i bet! Altered Beast isn't even out! :)

They missed out on Altered Beast 2 though... there's something about that game, even though it is mostly crap, the He-Man / Hulk like power-up concept is interesting.

It's pretty fun. I'm having a good time with it so far as well. I've only played slider mode, going to see how Tilt controls work when I get off work.

I lost every save and high score I had. Everything.

ChuChu Rocket is a great fit for the platform, can't wait for it!!
Yea I am so pumped! one of my favorite DC games, now bring me a a PSO 1 port and I will die happy with my iPad in hand :lol I think PSO could work since the spells/attack were on screen the whole time (the icons I mean).

So I'm getting an iPad next week. What are the games I have to consider buying? Already bought Plants vs Zombies HD!
If you like board games I can't recommend Carcassonne enough. Just a great game.

I bought Crimson Gen Saga and am liking it so far but quick question. Is the iPhone version the same as the Atlus translation? I never played it on PSP but just wondering since I don't see Atlus listed at all on the app description.

What is this? Looks fun, and I like the nes box art.

I'm really enjoying Pizza Boy. Fantastic platformer

And i don't get the Lumines hate. I think it plays very well. I just wish there were more skins!

Fairly sure it is the Atlus localization.

It’s light fun and has a great art style. it not going to blow your mind but I say yes, it’s worth having.

Uh oh... iPhone has achievements.

Now do I renew my cell contract to get an iPhone 4 now or hold out for the Windows Phone 7 line-up?
Might as well wait, it's coming out pretty soon isn't it? Of course that's assuming WP7 will gain traction...if you're not so sure about that you should probably wait longer to see how it does I guess.

Ehhh. It's alright I guess but I probably wouldn't buy it again, my main gripe is that it takes way too long to ramp up in difficulty. It's polished and all but it's not all that fun.

Hey guys! Scramble Challenge Edition by Zynga has the inviting feature! It's free, and allows you to play in real time using Game Center. For anyone who wants to know how that part works, check it out.

iPhone 4 GET! What a sexy beast.

Now how do I restore my 3GS backup? When I first connected, it wouldn't let me because I had to update to 4.1, and now I did. Now what?

Edit: uh sorry, nvm. Right click on iPhone icon > restore from backup.

If you already have an iPhone isn't it a no brainer? No need to rebuy apps and it's going to be getting some very awesome games in the future. The phone as a whole is pretty amazing too, if you haven't seen one, find someone who has one and download Epic Citadel (it's free) before you decide - it really shows off the retina display and is the best 'game' by a large margin to show what the phone is capable of graphically, once games start using engines like that you'll be glad you have it.

No one really knows how WM7 will go, but iOS should have the upper hand for quite some time - I'm more interested in PS1/PSP ports than 360 ports myself anyway, and of course the original content will probably be far better on the iPhone for some time too.

The main overhead for making a universal app is creating a second set of UI and menus for the iPad. The other challenge is to then keep the packet under 20mb's!

Hoping that Apple will raise the limit again soon...

i'm not complaining, i actually think it looks great on ipad! i wish more developers would turn their retina display-supporting apps into universal apps, is all. flick kick football is very obviously the iphone 4 version running full-size, but it still works well.
