Yeahit's gorgeous, but the big screen actually makes the controls worse, in my opinion. Still totally worth playing, but the psp has the best version to date.Musashi Wins! said:Anyone tried GTA Chinatown Wars on iPad?
Dilbert said:I have 3 GC-compatible games, but only one of them (Flight Control) shows up in the list. The other two (Azkend and Fieldrunners) do not, even though I have switched Fieldrunners over from OpenFeint to Game Center and started games of each.
Is there something else that needs to happen?
Right...and I've played them, and they aren't showing up. That's the question.Gooster said:GC-compatible games show up after you've played them once.
I'm enjoying it more than recent console GTA games. The controls take some getting used to but once you do it's a top game. I've got the buttons halfway up the screen.Musashi Wins! said:Anyone tried GTA Chinatown Wars on iPad?

I'm guessing they don't run but maybe someone will surprise me.

Haven't played the game in question...but you drag down to scroll up everywhere on iOS.animlboogy said:ugh, that sounds terrible. Why would anyone ever do that?
I have the iPad one, it's decent. Watch some videos of it to get a better sense of the gameplay, I couldn't tell what it was like from screenshots but it's pretty obvious when you see it in motion.Gooster said:Anybody play Spirit? Looks kind of fun, don't feel like spending the dollar until I hear impressions. :lol
Yeah it was designed for 256MB on the 3rd gen touch. It's had some memory issues on launch but that seems like an OpenFeint issue as much as anything else. Rebooting the device should free up enough memory on first launch to get past the initial OF screen.Ledsen said:Aside from having half the amount of RAM (which likely won't matter), the new Touches have the same game relevant specs as the iPhone4...
I love how instead of redoing GUI stuff at a higher res, they just mapped everything to 1 pixel, so what were once huge buttons with medium text, are now tiny buttons with incomprehensible text. :lolGooster said:There was an update for Stair Dismount Universal last night that now upgrades the game for Retina and apparently uses less memory now.
I remember this game back in the days of Windows 95. I was stupidly hooked then, and hooked now. It's fun for a free app, and if you want three more different-shaped characters it's 99 cents.

I can't even describe how in love I am with iOS gaming as of late. (and this feeling is mostly
uninfluenced by the fact that I'm developing for the platform..).
If I could travel a few years back in time and tell my younger gamer-self that *mobile games* would become my most played platform
... I'm pretty sure that information would shock me more than the existence of time travel :lol
Echoes said:Sinnce getting the iPhone 4 I've been gaming less. Most of my games don't support the Retina Display, and they look fricken ugly. Not to mention the loads of pixelated icons scattered everywhere.
Disappointing. From now on I won't buy any game or app that doesn't support Retina.
Call it what you want but I also tend to avoid games that don't have Retina support. Shit's an eyesore once you adapt.Minsc said:Sucks for you (that visuals matter more than the game itself).
Oh, that's definitely not the case. I may have exaggerated it a little. It's just that Retina games looks much better than regular games. See this for example;Minsc said:Sucks for you (that visuals matter more than the game itself).
Of course. On the 4 it's a liiiittle bit "off", while on the 3GS you can clearly see that it's 1:1.345triangle said:would the pixel art in monster dash even look any better with retina display support than it already does?

Don't get me wrong, games don't become instantly unplayable. I just don't feel inclined to play a game I spent money on unless retina support was included. One of the main reasons I upgraded to an iPhone 4 was the gorgeous display. I'd love to see it get as much use as possible.Minsc said:It just seems silly to me to have some criteria where you write off every iPhone/PSP/GBA/NDS/PSX/SNES/GEN etc game ever made because it isn't 300dpi or higher (and even newer gen console titles don't have the clarity of the iPhone if you really want to go there).
I'd kill for an Ogre Tactics port to the iPhone (given the same treatment as the FF:T one), huge pixels of the PSP version and all. To have some sort of condition where if the pixels are too big the game isn't playable seems pretty awful to me.

Bought. I can gift it to you if you want. It's only $0.99.Echoes said:Guys, it appears there's a new "Tappi Bear" game with a special 1$ launch price. It has all the 4 Tappi Bear game plus a new one.
I don't have any Tappi Bear game but this seems like a very good deal, because each individual game is sold for 1$, while this app has them all for a buck for a limited time. Edit: supports Game Center.
LOL I have 0.81 in my account, time to stock on gift cards.
Thanks a lot for the nice offer! Got me a 50$ card as soon as I typed the post (though I'm officially broke nowAgentWhiskersX said:Bought. I can gift it to you if you want. It's only $0.99.
