Maybe I'm just a bitter old codger, but do the "here's my game collection" pics really have a place in this thread?
I wanted to post what I'm playing w/o typing, and threw my collection at the end. Not sure what's wrong with that. I can provide detailed reviews for anyone having second thoughts about some of the games I own.

Only thing that bothers me is that it tends to clutter things up with no benefit.

Just to be clear, yours may have been the trigger, but my post definitely wasn't in response to yours alone.... so please don't feel singled out.

As thewesker notes, it's just added clutter (Page Down x 8 on a MacBook for yours)... and as Fifty says as well, maybe a little bit of Facebook-style narcissism.

Glad to hear people are still enjoying Flick Kick Football. There is another update about to be submitted that fixes up an OpenFeint issue.

We also have something inspired by FKF but much bigger in the works. Will be a couple of months before that is revealed however.
I'm telling you, a GAA GAME WOULD SELL LIKE HOTCAKES OVER HERE IN IRELAND. There was a crap PS2 game a few years ago and it sold well.
MY CAPS LOCK ON MY IPOD TOUCH IS STUCK ON BY THE WAY.
EDIT: In intermitted spells it'd seem.

I didn't find homescreen screenshots too annoying before the iPhone 4 kicked the res up to 960x640.
This this this. If you need to post your homescreen icons (even if it's just the first page) and you're using an iPhone 4, resize the fucking thing. Just presume that we all think you're awesome for having a massive resolution on your phone and get on with it.

No easy way to do that. I usually upload to Photobucket through their app and then post right away. What, you want me to get up and walk over to my MacBook? Pfffft.

They just need to be used sparingly.

So who's playing Maple Story? After having always heard about what a horrible grindfest the PC version is, this game is surprisingly awesome. Love the art, music, quirky quests/stories, platforming here and there, it all makes it into an incredibly enjoyable timekiller on the iPhone and I don't think I've had any game on the device that's been this engaging and addicting yet!

can't you go to tinypic (or most image-hosting sites) and just choose the resize option when uploading?

btw, Neuroshima Hex is out. Great tactical board game that's post-apocalyptic but more similar to Carcassonne than you might think:

Game is really pretty and quite fun. Currently has vs. AI and hotseat multi (which works fine since the game has no secret information). They're saying they'll add online play in an update, so here's hoping for that because the mechanics are fairly simple but solid.

Uh, yeah, I'm sorry but I totally forgot about the huge resolution... I've been using the 4 just recently and this is my first time posting a screen-cap in this thread. It looks normal on the iPhone but I just checked on my laptop and the screens were fricken big. Really sorry. Edited the post with only links.

Don't listen to him. iPhone 4 resolution may be big for phones, but it's tiny compared to desktop/laptop displays. Is he using a 800x600 monitor?

The true resolution settings looks pretty great with Shining Force. I really hope they keep emulating more titles, and put Shining Force II up soon.

Um, I don't think the typical laptop has more than 800 pixels of vertical resolution.... let alone 960.

I tried to find this thread yesterday to tell you guys to buy Pizza Boy, but then I beat it, it's only 12 levels long, but it's a ton of fun. NES game with SNES graphics. WAY TOO short.

Super Mega Worm sucks. Don't waste your buck.

Anyone play Final Freeway? Looks like a fun Outrun rip off, but I dunno.

It's already been established that most think Super Mega Worm is awesome.

My main computer, the one I'm typing this on, has a native res of 1920x1080
My second computer has a native resolution of 1280x1024
My net book has a puny native resolution 1024x600

I hope it's Flick Kick Football 2 with a goalkeeper who moves to stop the ball, like Flick Football, but not as crappy.

It will be a complementary experience to Flick Kick Football but not a sequel :)

Any plans to incorporate gamecenter?

I'm not sure what the plan is there. I think that depends on how the OpenFeint support for Gamecenter pans out.

I'll see if I can find out more about the longer term strategy for Gamecenter.

I've suggested at least a "Flick Kick" game based on the sport a couple of times, but haven't managed to convince anyone yet given the size of just that market and limited appeal for such a game outside of it (I take an advisory rather than a dictatorial approach to what they decide to work on).

As the team gets bigger, and the Flick Kick series continues to grow, it may be something that gets more serious consideration.

Gamecenter is a massive sales-incentive for me, at least. I like having a central place to see progress, rather than a million different OpenFeintPlus+ log ons.

On a side note - just picked up Monkey Island 1 + 2. How difficult are these? I played Beneath a Steel Sky and enjoyed it, but occasionally found some of the logic a little obscure, possibly because I never played point and clicks growing up. I guess at least there are walktrhoughs someone online!

P.S - Pix'n Love achievements are insane, shooting all bats? pfff.. impossible.

They have a built in hint system if you get stuck.

Why would you need Openfeint to support Gamecenter? Gamecenter replaces it. What reason would you have for continuing to use Openfeint?

I know it's early, but there's going to be a tipping point where I stop buying games that don't have Gamecenter support. It's the official service, and I want my achievements and friend list unified.

This. Game Center arrived to put everything "Achievements/Friends List/Multiplayer" related in one place. It's the iPhone's own "Live". Sounds superficial, but developers that don't support it don't get my money. :|

OF can do other things like online save data (Jet Car Stunts uses it for replays I think) and chat and stuff. Recently they added cross platform support to interact with Android.

...but for stuff that GC can handle I'd prefer OF and Plus+ (and all the others) to die or become less visible.

We already have hundreds of thousands of customers using OpenFeint, so we can't just switch over. At a minimum we would need to be supporting both somehow.

OF is planning some sort of direct support I think, so hopefully there is a way to do it seamlessly.

Edit: So the latest update of the OF SDK already supports GameCenter. Word internally is that we'll be adding GC support to our titles that way at least initially, though I don't have a timeframe on when that support will be added. I'm not sure what the limitations of GC support via OF are at this point either, assuming there are any.

Got both MIs for my iPhone. Should I double-dip for the iPad version?

I double-dipped on MI1. The iPad version is fantastic, really sharp graphics and slightly easier to control. Still some odd bugs, like some screens I can't hit the Exit button with the remade graphics, I have to change to old school graphics to hit the exit.

My iPhone is Jailbroken, if I upgrade to 4.1 is there a jailbreak for that? I want gamecenter and the ability to play Fruit Ninja online.

Also is it safe to update the a jailbroken iPhone to new official firmware without messing up the phone?

No jailbreak yet keep an eye on http://twitter.com/comex for when something happens.

Updating will work fine, just make sure you do a backup incase

I still dont understand what you mean by Open Feint "supporting" Game Center. Can you explain?

Gave Pizza Boy a go on the weekend. Surprisingly it's pretty awesome, its basically a nice looking Wonder Boy on the iPhone. And the controls aren't shitty either. I usually hate Virtual controls but this game uses them well.

We need to have a GAF Fruit Ninja tournament.

We can do this - in fact, it would be a great test bed for future, larger scale tournaments that might be possible via Game Center. I am happy to offer prizes. However, I will need some help from you guys.

What's the best way to organise GAF tournaments? Should it have its own thread, or put it within the Fruit Ninja thread (could do some awesome bump on that) or just do it within here?

Would someone want to take on the role of an official organiser/contestant registrar?

Anything else we should be aware of?

As I understand it, you can set up GC leaderboards/achievements and then instruct OF to map through to those. So whenever you set a score or get an achievement, it automatically gets populated via OF to both networks.

http://www.openfeint.com/developers/ios

Not sure what the actually experience is from the players side though, whether an OF login is required to access the GC stuff via OF, and whether existing OF scores and achievements get populated across.

Also consider that those with 3G iPhones have no way to use any of the Game Center stuff at all -- that means a game that goes strictly Game Center can't support those players. Pix 'n Love Rush just updated to strip OF right out and now just has GC, but that means I can't see any global leaderboards anymore.

And iPad doesn't support GC yet either, so global apps are kind of borked too.
