All the Flick Kick games should be getting GC support, but not sure on timeframe. Possibly before the end of the year.

There is talk of multiplayer for Flick Kick Football as well.

That would be some sweet fun right there. I kindly urge you guys to progress from "talk of multiplayer" to "it will be in the next update along with GameCenter support"

;)

How do people get 140k in the online contests? I'm only getting 60-70k max, is it just the type of ball they're using? Or am I missing something?

(playing with the free version at the moment)

Glow Ball. Get that.

Question: does the AppAdvice app also list which games are being offered for free?

It absolutely does, I find checking in with this app is the best way to find out about new apps, free apps, and price drops on apps I want.

The new ball is pretty wack actually. Back in the day you had to really focus on super cleans, now it's more about volume and scores have gone up a good deal.

I've got three achievements left:
-8 & 12 super cleans in a row. Bah these are a bitch. Thinking of maybe using Ying and making sure to get the wide net. i consider myself pretty decent at super cleans since i used to use the moki ball but there would always be some ridiculous placement or power-up fadeout that would mess up the streak 5 or 6 in.
-20k on a single shot. surprised i haven't gotten this yet. i'll spam a few more games with glow and i'm sure some lucky shot will get it.

Checked iTunes Connect. Looks like the first step for FKF will just be GC leaderboards and achievements, though we haven't uploaded a build yet.

Finally broke 80K. Still using the flick method though. :lol I see you're up to 180K now...geez.

Played Geometry Wars: Touch a bit more... Holy crap I love this game so much! I keep playing Evolved mode and get to around 7 million now... But what's with the leaderboards? Am I still scoring too low to see any other relating positions? (I heard they acted weird like that)

Peggle Nights is now $0.99. Not sure if early buyers get the $2 back but someone on TA said their receipt showed $0.99 instead of $2.99 even though they bought it a few hours ago.

Funny how I wasn't going to buy Peggle when it went on sale and now I own it and Nights, all for $2. Never played Nights before now.

Sucks it went on sale so fast. I bought Nights this morning as soon it updated, but it was $2.99 then. Hopefully I'll get the $2 back, but I'm not counting on it.

Great! I didn't want to start up OpenFeint so I'll be glad to have GameCenter leaderboards and achievements.

Damn, I must make it a priority to purchase the in-app StarDunk Premium. My addiction is at its highest thus far, but I only have 3 online contests per day. :c

By the way, I MUST GLOAT: I'm second on the GC leaderboard and only behind Astrolad by 300-400 points. That number 1 spot shall be mine! :lol

Anyhow, no one answered a question I posted a page or two back, so here it is in case someone knows the answer:

The Stardunk GC leaderboard has some updates. :D

Also.. Dammit AstroLad, let me have the top spot at least for a 24 hour period. :(

So I'm trying to get 3-stars for each level in Angry Birds.

What exactly is it based off? Score? There are some levels where I'll destroy everything with the first bird and still only get 2 stars.

and I just did the update, pretty nice integration with Gamecenter, and it looks like more levels were added.

I assume Angry Birds 2 will be coming out soon.

EDIT: ok, for example, 9-3. I destroy all the pigs on the first shot AND destroy most of the stuff on the set, and I still only get 1 star. Not sure how this works...

I always thought it was based on score. There are plenty of levels where I have to use all birds and I'll still get a 3-star rating. Usually the score is 100K+ though.

Here's an interesting nugget... The game 0.03 seconds Pro (top 25 right now) uses music from Cowboy Bebop and Goemon Adventures. It's developed by one dude, so I'm pretty sure he didn't get the rights to those... Lol.

Guess no one has called him out yet, since it's still up.
Woah, that's one of the biggest no-nos in the business. How the hell could he have thought that was a good idea?

It's kind of dumb to be honest. Like, you'll play a level 30 times and get 2 stars every time, and then the 31st time you inexplicably get 3 stars.

Now, of course, I did something different to get the 3 stars, but I can't help but think it was because I launched the bird like 2 pixels lower then I was before. There's no way to really know where exactly you are launching from, so it makes getting 3-stars on a lot of levels a crap shoot.

Nothing against the game, I think it's great, but getting 3-stars on every level seems not worth the time.

haha that's hilarious.
My money is on no consequences ever coming of this, and more people ripping off things in the future (at least in AppLand)

Wait until you try to get the score achievements! I've 3 stared all of Episodes 1 and 2 but to get the score achievement on Episode 1 for example, I need to total 4 million points. Right now I need to increase my score by 140,000 points. I've played through Worlds 1, 2 and 3 a number of times in the last few days but I was only able to increase my score by 500 to 1000 points on each level at the most. I'm pretty much ready to give up for now and just try to 3-star Episodes 3 and 4.

I agree it is time-consuming and can be fustrating, but I play Angry Birds very much "pick-up and play" and only spend 5 minutes or so on it before playing other games. I was putting more time since the GC update, but now that I have Carc and Peggle Nights, it is less played.

For Carc GAF, I have it now but I'm going to wait for GC before playing everyone online. I'm enjoying the solitaire mode now and since I'm somewhat new to the game, I'm brushing up by playing against my GF and the AI. It is a great game and I'm glad you guys convinced me to spend the $5 on it.

Which leaderboard are you guys talking about? I can't figure out the one in app.

On GC, I have just you above me. Guess I need to add Astrolad. Lol

So for the people that have it, has the problem with Peggle crashing at the logo been fixed yet? I think I'm going to use my remaining iTunes credit to get both Peggle and Nights but don't really want to buy a broken game.

We just launched an iPad version of Robot Unicorn Attack. And at a limited-time launch price of 99 cents (so if you have the iPhone version it's less of a sting to upgrade to iPad):

By any chance is that heavy metal version coming out soon?

It isn't crashing for me but I don't know if it is fixed for everyone. It is Popcap, I'm sure they will fix it quickly so you might want to buy it soon before the price goes back up.

Just here to say that Undercroft is really fantastic. And it's free.

It's an old style RPG (eye of the beholder style) packing around 20 hours of gameplay. I believe it's a port - the original was released many years ago.

how do i buy peggle nights? it asked me once after the update if i want to buy it but 3$ was too much, now it doesn't ask me anymore...

edit: nvm, found it. the new german translation is really dumb

What about those who purchased the iPhone version for their iPad because there was no iPad version?

But 99¢ doesn't sound too bad. Especially for double dipping.

Seeing this makes me wonder why thq hasn't tried making a move to put games on iOS...

Appears I was wrong, they have put things out, just nothing I have cared to look at.

Seems like they are putting to good use their starwars license, are any of the games of good quality?

So what's the word on "Buck and the Coin of Destiny"?

It's published by GameStop and based on the bunny they use in their commercials, but does anyone know how well the game plays? Is it enjoyable? It looks like it would be fun considering it has endless, procedurally generated levels, but I'm not sure I want to spend the buck to find out. If no one knows, I'll bite and report back.

This is why the launch price is 99 cents. We know a lot of people bought the iPhone version and wanted to at least give folks who're paying attention a chance to upgrade to the iPad version for cheaper.

So since there's now an iPad version, that means it would be fairly trivial to update the iphone version for retina display? ;)

I don't know about trivial, but it is on our radar. :)

Much appreciated. It's a great game, and I hope there will eventually be some gc support in it.

You all need to buy Time Geeks: Find All.

Seriously, it's a brilliant, cheap as chips (59p/99c) hidden object game with chip music and pixel art.

My review's here, but don't read it, just buy it.

Bought. Thanks.

We didnt go the "one life only" road, so you can play quite some time. Any feedback on that would be appreciated...and please be gentle ;)

That's hilarious...but as long as the owners don't call him out on it I guess he's safe. Could alert some big site and get people to harass him about it perhaps.

A dev on another forum mentioned making a chiptune version of a TV theme for his game, I asked about licensing and he said it's actually really easy (just sign up at some site that handles it) and pay something like 8 cents per sale...of course his game is 99 cents so that 8 cents is a big chunk (after taking Apple's fees and whatever other costs he has), so it sounds like he's risking just going without the license.

Touch Arcade covered it a little while ago: http://toucharcade.com/2010/09/24/b...tiny-review-gamestop-bunny-gets-his-own-game/
Sounds like it could be decent, although from the video it seems like the jump sound effect could be irritating (particularly with the frequency of jumping in the gameplay).

You could be an ass and make the iPad version into the universal retina app! (albeit less of an ass if it goes on sale for that update)

neojubei said:

Some of these games are over 25 years old which I think that's a bit much to be asking to purchase credits per game. Hire the original programmers back to do genuine sequels and then YES, I think it's worth paying for credits. Heck, I will pay $50 !!Otherwise these are the same roms being rehashed from console to console over and over ad nauseum.

In order to play the arcade games, players will utilize a virtual "ticket" system; one "ticket" will enable players to play any of the games one time, just like putting in a quarter and playing your turn for as long as you can survive. Each game will come with its own free "ticket" so that players can demo the title, and then they'll have to actually purchase additional "tickets" to play either of the game titles whenever they well please. Each "ticket" will last for roughly 24 hours, after which they will expire. But, you can only play the game once within this period.

Conversely, if you want to just play the game whenever, Capcom will offer a model where players can purchase the full game and launch it within the Capcom Arcade app, though this will only allow access to one game title at a time, and players will still have to purchase "tickets" should they want to play any of the other games they did not fully pay for.

You have got to be kidd'n me.

neojubei said:
Dead Rising (2?) is a definite purchase for me.

I'd be really interested in Capcom Arcade if I knew the pricing. With these collections I will be extremely sensitive to pricing as I already own Capcom Classics Collection Remixed & Reloaded. I think they set me back about a tenner each and contain 18-20 titles. If the in-app price for each game is 59p, I'm in. Any higher and I'll never touch the service.

I don't understand why Capcom haven't jumped on board with Game Room when this is EXACTLY WHAT THOSE GUYS WANT TO DO. I know I'd want to play them on a console rather than an iphone.

Why call it DR2? Silly Capcom
I doubt it'll actually be called DR2, though it's odd they're going back to Frank. I'm pretty doubtful they can make a solid DR experience on the iphone. They should have done a top down thing. Combo weapons would have made it great.

I imagine Microsoft is pretty stingy when it comes to the Game Room stuff. Capcom could be holding out for more.
