I doubt it'll actually be called DR2, though it's odd they're going back to Frank. I'm pretty doubtful they can make a solid DR experience on the iphone. They should have done a top down thing. Combo weapons would have made it great.

I imagine Microsoft is pretty stingy when it comes to the Game Room stuff. Capcom could be holding out for more.

considering the current state of Game Room, I'd think MS would want to loosen whatever royalty policies they have to get more publishers interested. Unless, of course, they've already decided it's a lost cause and won't bother changing anything for it.

and looking at Dead Rising for iPhone did not give me a lot of confidence. I need more zombies on the screen! the place was barren.

I don't understand why Capcom haven't jumped on board with Game Room when this is EXACTLY WHAT THOSE GUYS WANT TO DO. I know I'd want to play them on a console rather than an iphone.
game room lol

That capcom arcade sounds odd. Why would you pay for a 'ticket' but it expires after 24 hours? Thats just fucked up. Buying virtual credits is probably a bad idea anyway, but if I give them money, let me use it whenever I want. Eg on an ipod touch if I want to play away from a wifi connection I have to plan when to buy my credits? fuck off.

Dead rising 2 looks nice, but kind of lacking on the zombie count. Whats the challenge when there are only 2 zombies on screen? and imagine how frustrating the psycho battles will be with an even worse control mechanism than on the console versions!

Exactly my thoughts, why have everything to be 3D. Something like that Housemarque game would be great.

I bought Peggle Nights for 99c for my i4.

I wonder though, I have a 3G and an i4. Will the game recognize that I have bought the Nights expansion and synch it with my 3g?

Dead Rising on the iPhone? What's next a ZX spectrum version?
Well, hey, they brought Dead Rising to the Wii and the iPhone is technically more powerful than that (though it doesn't seem they will be exploiting that power and instead making sure it still runs on older iPhone devices). :(

That's hilarious...but as long as the owners don't call him out on it I guess he's safe. Could alert some big site and get people to harass him about it perhaps.
I don't think that's necessary, there's enough people involved already that should've catched this one. At this point, the original copyright holder should be the one getting the alert.

If I were a writer for a site like Gamasutra, I'd probably put some energy into researching how widespread this behavior is to check if there's a story in this. One app alone shouldn't get special treatment though. You have to remember that any publicity leads to sales.

all purchases of games and in-app items carry over for all devices attached to your account.

to be clear: it won't automatically sync the levels next time you connect the iphone 3G to itunes but you can download the key again on the 3G and you won't be charged. you will have to replay them all over again on the second device.

what? Wii? I have one of those. Was it shit or alright?

It was shit.

They built it on top of the RE4 technology base, which sounded cool, but it really is a pointless game. The zombie crowds were reduced to a small trickle of undead and the gameplay changed dramatically.

I would content that.

You mean contest? Or are you content, and agreeing? :p

Resolution is higher, and Carmack said himself that the iPhone run circles around the PS2/Xbox hardware, so it's not hard to believe it'd give the Wii a run for it's money.

Carmack said:
"As you look towards the industry in future years years, the idea that yeah, I just pulled out of my pocket the machine there that, yeah I could kill anything on a previous generation console like an XBox or a PS2 or something on the hardware thats there. It's not as powerful as the current generation but it's not all that far off."

I've never seen anything on the Wii that's left me as impressed as Epic Citadel (except the opening part of Mario Galaxy when it was released), but I'm not sure I'd argue either one is significantly more powerful than the other. Though, even with all it's shovelware, the average Wii game does look a ton better than the average iPhone game (which tends to look like crap because there's 10x more crap on the iPhone than the Wii).

I suppose visually, you are correct Minsc. But the visuals of Epic Citadel would take one hell of a hit if there was an actual game attached to it.

Cut the Rope is finally out. Made by Zeptolab the developers of Parachute Ninja.

Looks fun
Not enough hype about this game!

It's really well done!

My biggest problem w/ Angry Birds and other physics puzzlers is that physics are impossible to predict, this does a great job of providing enough constraint to keep things from being TOO random.

I hope they're as prolific about content updates as the Angry Birds dudes have been!

Just did my bit and reviewed a few games on iTunes. Nice to give some support to struggling games.
Anything that hasn't been mentioned in the thread? I'm all about finding fun things that are flying under the radar.

And how do you know this other than pure speculation? Wait till the games based on the engine come out till you start making such claims.

You all need to buy Time Geeks: Find All.

Seriously, it's a brilliant, cheap as chips (59p/99c) hidden object game with chip music and pixel art.

My review's here, but don't read it, just buy it.

I bought this, thanks for pointing it out. (Am a sucker for pixel art).

The game is beautiful and seems to be filled with pop culture references. I seem to be spending more time trying to figure out the references as opposed to finding the hidden object.

The first map/screen has the Android logo and scenes from (I think) Lost. :lol

I don't think Ozone gets the love it deserves.

Hoggy (currently Free!!) is another firm favourite that I don't see mentioned often

Lost you say?

Let's investigate...

OMG. So late to the awesome Peggle party.
Picked up Peggle ($1) and Peggle Nights ($1) on the iPhone yesterday, and I've been obsessed since then. I cleared the original's adventure mode, and am making good progress in Nights.

Great stuff, and amazing price.
The complete experience on both Steam and the DS are around $15, in comparison.

I feel like I am the only one who doesn't "gets" Peggle. I cleared the original version back when it came out and didn't see why it was fun. All you do is throw a ball and watch it drop. Am I playing it wrong or something? o.O

Also, I just finished Puzzle Agent and really liked it. If it wouldn't be for its cheap price I'd probably never look at it twice, but I was pleasantly surprised.

yes, peggle is better than any other game. if you think it's just pachinko than that reveals much more about you than it does peggle

Please enlighten me on what it really is then. I want to know!

It's a bit more than that.
There's tons of technique involved in proper ricochets, score maxing, triggering the special powers in a timely fashion, and ultimately "acing" each stage. It's like saying that Tetris is all about watching blocks drop.

Absolutely, I prefer it to Osmos (which is similar in some ways). It's definitely among my top five games! Especially when played with headphones, the game has some of the best and most beautiful sound design I've ever heard in a game.

Damn you Gaf, Leave my wallet alone!

Bought Time Geeks and Piyo Blocks 2. Love the art style in both, Loving the Lost references in Time Geeks a lot. Piyo Blocks 2 seems to have quite a few game modes that I need to explore more. $2 well spent!
