It's a buck. There's a demo. Deal with it.
bububu all these other awesome games have been free. i don't care i'll wait for it to be free or play all these other great games that i got free :D in this day in age there is no excuse for games to cost anything

I feel like a moron because I am terrible at angry birds. I can't get past like level 6. I've really only messed around with the Android version, but I assume it's pretty identical.

I'm the same. I don't "get" Angry birds. I'm awful at it and the levels that I have completed were never so entertaining that I felt like going back and getting 3 stars.

I'm the same. It's a fun distraction, but I never really get pulled into it. A good game, but it doesn't rank among my favorites on the platform.

Cut the Rope really nailed it for me.

I'll admit that this is how I act when it comes to iOS games.

I agree, it's a game that's neither entertaining or refreshing but rather a cute take on a common game design. It's success is largely due to the fact that the top lists are so influential. There are endless amounts of better games on the platform; people simply don't look for anything. It's cute, everyone else likes it and gameplay is as simple as swiping the screen until you win. Hizah!

Hey guys just bought a new iPhone 4 and i've been playing Words with Friends and Doodle Buddy a lot with my friends and am really loving it.

Are there any other online/social multiplayer games like the two mentioned above? I just want some other games that i can play with my friends while i'm at work/school etc.

I hate re-posting my own shit but it kinda got lost in the iTunes scuffle a few pages back.

AppShopper app has added push notifications for updates/price drops on your apps and wishlist.
Also ngmoco released GodFinger All Stars, Was about to bitch about it being a new game when it looks the same but it says existing players data will carry over once logged into +Plus.

Meh, it's still probably my favorite game on the platform. It's not "deep" by any means but I tend to find myself playing it more than anything else despite having five folders full of games. It's perfect to just pick up and play, and it's not tedious and doesn't require your complete attention.

Do you not enjoy Peggle either? Peggle, AG, Cut the Rope, I consider these to be the same genre, physics based puzzles.

Oh man, Knight's Rush is definitely one of my absolute favorites already, never before has (virtual) button mashing been so much fun on the iPhone :D. And damn... I'm in love with the game's art.

Love Peggle. Love Cut The Rope.

Do not love Angry Birds.

I think it has to do with the panning screen. I can't see where my birds will land when I take my shot and it's a lot of very, very subtle angle correction repeated many, many times to get stuff to work.

and if that first shot is off on a level, restarting the level means having to guesstimate the angle of that first shot again based on where you think your finger was the last time.

So how does one go about getting 1228 in Zen Mode of Fruit Ninja, anyway? Seems a little high. no?

Yeah someone asked that question over at TA and Phil from Halfbrick basically said that wasn't possible so it must be some sort of cheat/hack/nerd thing going on.

LC, you know you can zoom in and out, right?

I just buy apps I like the look or sounds of. They're generally so cheap. Why quibble over paying for the games when they're so cheap? I've spent more on a cup of coffee without questioning the price. I also like rewarding developers who put out kick-arse titles.

Finallllly. A knights rush sale, ive been waiting for this.
insta-buy. I was about to buy it for 3 dollars because of the update, didnt buy it before because it said there was no save.
so excited to play it :D

Is anyone playing "Knight's Rush" on an older iPhone 3G? If so, how does it run on it? I've still got a 3G and it's a bummer to buy games that run as slow as molasses on it.

"Cut the Rope" is awesome and runs really well on my 3G.

Playing Bit Trip Beat on my phone, good port, but the lag is destroying any hopes of attempting a high-score. I wonder if my 3GS is just too slow. : (

Not sure why Angry Birds gets compared so much to Cut the Rope. Yes, use of physics is key in both games, but the play nothing alike. I find Angry Birds to be a lot more trial and error based, while Cut the Rope has a lot more hands-on gameplay and controls, and I prefer it because of that. Overall aesthetic and polish is also great, and so is the mischievous music. Just too bad that there's no high res support for Iphone 4.

Runs butter smooth on iphone 4.

I enjoy AB but feel it's quite a bit worse than Peggle, and a lot of that is due to inaccuracy issues in AB. Peggle lets you use the dial to make careful shots that often aren't necessary, while AB requires, at times, pretty deadly accuracy but without a similar accuracy-enhancing system. I also wish the trails would last for all birds. And no toucans.

Basically I'm willing to replay Peggle levels for score but not AB levels for stars.

How is Dungeon Hunter? Is it good as a Diablo clone?

I hate giving Gameloft credit for anything but Dungeon Hunter is as good as it gets for dungeon crawling on the iPhone.

Yikes, that sounded more negative than I intended. Yeah, Dungeon Hunter is pretty good.

I think Angry Birds deserves all the praise and sales it gets. It offers casual game play but depth for the hardcore gamer that wants to 3 star the levels and find the secrets. This combined with the price and the constant updates that have increased the content five-fold is what got it where it is. Most developers would have added a few levels then started charging for dlc which turns off tons of customers.

As for the price discussion earlier, I know it sounds silly saying that you are unsure of a $1 game but the facts are that there are tons of games to play and a few purchases a week adds up to over $100 in a year. I personally think free games are great but it has got out of hand. $1 sales should be the limit for great games. I don't understand why developers make them free but now people wait for free games even if they are only $1. I don't usually hesitate at $1 but understand why others might. Games $3 and over cause me to hesitate but not for long if what I read and see looks great to me, as was the case with Carcassonne and Space Miner.

And Carc has held strong at $5 the entire time since release -- whoo!

Awesome, Monster Dash got an update that includes Game Center support, New level, new weapon and new monster. Love this game!

Which is why I don't own it. It's funny how the App store makes $5 a big deal...
Yep your loss. I've got 50 gaffers on my carc friends list who feel otherwise. And it's never going down; actually going up to $10 when the universal update drops (although God only knows when that will be). Good on them.

Basically, better polish.

Angry Birds is close to the best someone could do in that genre, the other game copies what it thinks made angry birds successful, but probably comes up short in places. It is like taking a bit of tracing paper over a world famous painting - you get a similar looking end-product, but it just wont be the same.

Angry Birds will also have more support down the line due to the significantly larger install base.

This I know, but pappa needs a job, and $5 is food at the moment.

Don't worry, many of the levels are horrendously designed. I'd honestly spend my time playing Gerbil Physics on the 360 instead and something else on the iPhone.

Yes, even though I held off for a couple of weeks I'm glad GAF convinced me to buy it and I hope it never drops in price. This is one game that is worth it. I could see a $3 sale before it goes to $10 but this will never be a $1 game. I say this without evening jumping into online play yet as I'm waiting on GC support.

Games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja wouldn't make it at $5 but are awesome $1 games and I hope they never go free either.

I know it has been discussed before but the App store pricing is tough. I hope things don't increase much as I love my free games but Apple should enforce some rule with no price drops the first 3 months and limit price changes to once a month aside from holiday sale timeframes.

Is anyone else having an issue with GameCenter games stalling? I could be wrong about that brig the issue but it's the only link i can think of just now.

Cut the rope has been stalling (and one time crashing) at the end of levels just after completion but before he score screen. Was just playing Monster Dash and it stalled for about 5 seconds when I started a game then once it unfroze the GameCenter welcome appeared.

This is on iPhone 4.

yep, I get 'thinking' stalls all the time.

Officially completed all of the levels in Cut The Rope. Gonna try to 3 star em. Still want more levels NOW.

Anyone know why my Fruit Ninja achievements aren't porting over to GC, and the game won't let me re-unlock them in GC? Only game that's giving me trouble.

You probably just have to restart the GC/FN apps. I had the same problem the first time I loaded it, but the second time they all unlocked.

If you ever wondered who bought expensive ass DLC: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-rayswefarm101110

The rigors of a 162-game season and the stressors of the playoffs send the Rays scurrying for an outlet, and they’ve found it on a 9.7-inch screen and a game that resembles the popular Farmville. The players download the app for free, and then start building their dream farm, replete with everything from broccoli rows to blackberry-surrounded baseball fields.

The We Farm devotees around the clubhouse compare their plots and commence the trash talking. Originally, it bottlenecked toward Shields, who in July started playing the game in the clubhouse so Ashtyn’s crops stayed in good shape. About a month later, he convinced others to join in, and they’ve been trying to match him ever since.

“He’s like 3,000th in the world,” Price says with admiration.

Price, competitor he is, wants to catch up. Even though he will pitch the most important game of his life Tuesday against former Cy Young winner Cliff Lee(notes), Price can’t forget about his farm. In Kansas City for the Rays’ final regular-season series, Price purchased a “Grow” add-on for $99.99 – “plus a 20 percent discount,” he notes. For his not-real crops, he spent real money.

Not quite as much, however, as Upton, the Rays’ center field whom the We Farm addicts point to as the most jonesing of the bunch. Teammates say Upton has spent hundreds of dollars on Grow, and when confronted on the subject, he says: “No comment.”

Knight's Rush looks so awesome.. Thinking about buying it. More impressions please?

And does it support Retina display?
I dont really like games with onscreen controls, but I really like this one. I think it is not even worth wasting a second thought over $0.99. just get it.

dont know about retina, but it looks really great.
