yeah, stupid us, made instructions screens and didnt describe the most important thing. The fire button is in the lower right corner. Touching the upper parts of the screen fires a missile.cooljeanius said:Also, Airbase Defender impressions: it's kind of like that helicopter shooting game that used to come on the old iPod Classics, except it doesn't really explain how to shoot stuff properly. OK, so I'm supposed to tilt to aim, but how do I actually shoot? Touching different places on the screen gives inconsistent results.

I got this because of the introductory price (I don't think I would have paid more since I already have the original) and even though it's the same game it's still pretty fun and the new music and art style is cool.SuperPac said:Robot Unicorn Attack Heavy Metal is out -

Trainyard is a puzzle solving game unlike any that you've ever played. It's easy to learn but very tough to master. Your job is simple: get each train to a goal station. Red trains go to red stations, blue trains go to blue stations, etc. You control the trains by drawing track for them to follow. There isn't a time limit or even a score; the only thing you need to do is figure out a solution for each puzzle.
The first few puzzles are almost too easy, but as the difficulty increases you'll be thankful that you were able to practice the fundamentals of drawing track. As the game progresses, you'll have to use colour theory to combine trains of different colours, use timing to merge and split trains, and use every inch of your brain in your quest to beat the game.
Thank you, that was an interesting read.nofi said:Kinda related.
I spoke to a few iPhone game devs about how they made their name on the App Store and what they did to stand out from the crowd. Maybe a nice lunchtime read?

I have to say that the earlier puzzles are very easy, but they still got that "just one more puzzle" thing going for them.
iNetHack is pretty good.dream said:I hate giving Gameloft credit for anything but Dungeon Hunter is as good as it gets for dungeon crawling on the iPhone.
Yikes, that sounded more negative than I intended. Yeah, Dungeon Hunter is pretty good.

Yes. That's what I hate.Ledsen said:You guys know you can zoom out to see the whole stage at once, right?
I just bought Chaos Rings the other day for $15, had I known about Crimson Gem I would have bought that over Chaos Rings no question (not that it's a bad game by any means, CG just looks more badass).oracrest said:Crimson Gem indeed looks good! $10 would be the most expensive app I have bought yet. I am holding off for now to get through some other stuff I still haven't played from the big sale last week.
Awesome I've been wanting to try this for a long time. Didn't get it for DS because I just don't use my DS much anymore. Looks like a perfect fit for iOS though.cjelly said:According to PocketGamer.fr Soul Bubbles iPhone/iPad is out tomorrow. http://www.pocketgamer.fr/recherche.html?search_word=soul+bubbles&Rechercher=Rechercher

jonnybryce said:I agree, it's a game that's neither entertaining or refreshing but rather a cute take on a common game design. It's success is largely due to the fact that the top lists are so influential. There are endless amounts of better games on the platform; people simply don't look for anything. It's cute, everyone else likes it and gameplay is as simple as swiping the screen until you win. Hizah!
Lots of apps are generous with free updates, but they don't all sell millionsPachael said:That, and it gets updated very often with lots of new levels, birds, things to do et cetera. For free - it's like a new game every new section, and everytime it gets updated the oldies come back in to play the new levels and newbies jump in. Not that many other apps are so generous with free updates, other than Fruit Ninja.

It's a fairly simple concept, get the colored trains to their color-coded destinations, but holy shit does it have some AWESOME ideas. For example if you have a blue train and a yellow train, and a green destination, you can have the trains run into one another and they mix to become a green train. Or if you have only one train and five destinations, you can use scissors to cut the trains into duplicates. It is REALLY fun and the puzzles are awesome - there's 100 levels standard and I'm pretty sure there are downloadable levels too.
Best part? It's a universal app, it's got Retina Display graphics, and it's currently on sale for $0.99!

This. Popcap is so slow it's comical. Even with projects that seem relatively "easy." Peggle XBLA was delayed for like a year.Tobor said:Popcap moves like molasses on this stuff.
