The iPhone 4 |OT|

I hope the iPhone 5 comes out in June/July. My contract expires June 2nd so I"m considering multiple phones at the moment. I don't want to get an iPhone 4 then have the 5 come out a couple months later and get stuck into another 2 year contract. :(

I mean, by some of that logic, the iPhone 3GS was the fourth iPhone, and the 4 was the fifth. Doesn't explain at all why there couldn't be a new edition of the 4, same as there was of the 3.
Original iPhone (iPhone 1)
iPhone 3G (iPhone 2)
iPhone 3GS (iPhone 3)
iPhone 4 (iPhone 4)

Why not keep your current phone out of contract for a few more months? You're right, buying a 4 in July would lead to disappointment (if you're the type of user who cares about power/features)

I was a sadly misinformed individual that didn't realize there was no iPhone 2. lol

Would anyone like to point my lazy ass to a good online repository of high res wallpapers for this baby? Of a gaming persuasion, say? :)

It's been a long slog resisting the iPhone 4.

Decided to permanently take off the case on my iPhone 4. Just got tired of it. "Naked" feels so different, phone definitely seems smaller and thinner.

I'd love to go back to doing this, but the damn thing loves to just slide off things every chance it gets.

I think you're still just too overexcited with your new iPhone 4, that's probably the cause of your silly, nonsense posts...regarding repositories for "cool" wallpapers, sorry I got none. Just google "HD iPhone 4 wallpapers" and you might hit the jackpot within the first three results. I'm sure the internets is never short of iPhone (4) wallpapers.

Anyone else a bit addicted to buying apps?. l've been using tweetbot for a while now, very impressed. So yesterday l also bought...

Calcbot
Convertbot ...this will be useful in my work
Pastebot

also a few days ago l bought

camera+
Adobe ldeas

l need to keep away from that "buy now" button.

*Edit, But yeah, those Tapbot apps are so polished.

I never held my iPhone without a case until a month after I bought it. The sales person put it in a case for me before I got a chance to hold it. It wasn't until I put it another case. I was amazed how thin and slick it was.

Good man. It's so much nicer without a case.

Doesn't show humidity? Useless. High humidity with a temp of 70 is more uncomfortable than low humidity with a temp of 90, since humidity is what makes you feel muggy and slimy.

What! I'd gladly take a humid, 70° temperature over a dry 90° one. But really though, I don't really see humidity as valuable to me in a weather app because it doesn't affect what I wear. If it's 70 or 90, humid or not, I won't be wearing anything heavy. I just need to see the high/low, forecast, and chance of precipitation. To each their own though. This app is just too smooth.

Is it worth updating to 4.3.3 for iphone 4? I think I'm still on 4.2.8.
Assuming you have the Verizon iphone, 4.2.8 is the latest you can get. To answer your question though, 4.3 is worth it for native library sharing alone.

My brother just got the white iPhone4, oh my god what a beauty

Why didn't they make this earlier? :[

I got the iPhone a couple days ago, which means if apple does an announcement at next months conference I'll still be within the 30 days to return it

What part of the country do you live in? Because I can tell you high humidity sucks at any temperature. Especially if you live in Houston. :(

When I go to concerts or events, my phone can run out of battery. I was thinking of getting one of those battery pack things that makes it kind of thicker, which I would only use when I needed it.

Anyone have any suggestions for one of those?

The DLO one with the adhesive cups is pretty good, my friend has been using it for some time.

I'm going caseless with my iPod touch 4 and I'm loving it. Feels good man.

is it unlocked, too?

you could probably get closer to 700 if it's in mint physical condition and unlocked.

it has a few scratches on the back but other than that its fine. its not unlocked just jailbroken. 700 is alot no?

brand new factory unlocked 32 GB models (and even some jailbroken unlocked ones) sell for 750 and up on ebay.

475 is selling it too cheap, imo.

it has some scratches so it won't go for the highest price but you should be able to get more than 500

(I sold a jailbroken, slightly scratched and unlocked 16GB 3GS last summer on craigslist for around 550)

Thanks I took your advise I put the buy it now for 515. And I am going to just wait to see if the bids go higher. I was going to sell it to someone for 475 and end it early. Thanks!

Why do people spend $750 on one on ebay when they can go to the store and get a brand new one cheaper than that without a contract? is it just because its unlocked?

Hello guys, is it a good time to buy an Iphone 4 right now? Or should i wait for the next generation to kick in so the price drops? Or is that not gonna happen?

See if they say anything June 6-10.

I recently upgraded my Verizon phone to 4.2.8, and I noticed that the battery drains alot faster than before.

I have to get a new phone at the end of the month, and it's probably going to be an Iphone 4. Will I regret it? I assume the Iphone 5 isn't far off. What should I do?

The current rumor is that the iPhone 5 or 4S will be released in september. It almost certainly wont be a huge redesign, nor will it have 4g so I don't think you'll regret getting the 4 unless the new processor is a big deal to you.

im caseless also. i love the way it feels.
i have a few scratches on the front of my phone is there any type of polish or product that can buff out the scratches?

They really need to stop making the back out of a scratch prone mirror though.

Fully agree. If Apple doesn't go with an aluminum back like the iPad for the next Touch, I'm going to lose my mind.

I was sort of nervous at first, but now that I've had it out of a case for a few weeks I just throw the thing around. Can't see going back to a case any time soon. Not sure about the scratches on the front...haven't had one yet.

I don't think I do (Fido). 666mb update :( Hopefully it won't take up that much space in my phone; I only have the 16gb.

No idea what native library sharing does.

I synced my music from itunes to the my iphone but none of the playlists synced, how do you sync the playlists? I selected a playlist and clicked "Autofill", it loaded the songs but no playlist

In my case, availability. I can't remember the exact timeframe but it was either buy the phone for £750 from a scalper, or wait 3 weeks and pay £680 to Apple. I was desperate enough to spend the extra £70 to avoid a 3 week wait.

Don't regret a penny. I love this phone.
