I installed Banjo and I'm not finding "little to no" load times, but it's definitely smoother than streaming off the disk.

Ninja Gaiden 2 install sounds dope as hell though.

4) Sign in on 360, go to video section, download Netflix application.
5) Open app. Choose to use a gold account. Select your main account. Get activation code.
6) Find proxy, go online to www.netflix.com/activate

AstroLad said:ok, i have to say i'm taken kinda aback by some of these responses on a gaming forum where people are known for taking time off of work for other "megaton"-type events like mgs 4, gta iv, excetera. maybe the reaction would be normal from my non-gamer co-workers (not that i would tell them, or that they would even understand what i was talking about), but from gaf it's a bit disappointing to say the least.
so maybe i should explain my reasoning for getting up at the asscrack of dawn and taking a few (three, not five) days off:
-NETFLIX: i will probably spend a solid afternoon just catching up on movies and shows that i've been to lazy to order from netflix in physical form. you just can't beat the convenience factor here.
-AVATARS: yeah ok it's "lame" in the eyes of the so-called hardcore. whatever. i think it's cool as hell. i never felt "lame" buying avatar packs and multiple themes to switch up my visual style, and this looks to be even a hundred times better than that, so the argument is a moot point.
-PARTY SYSTEM: nothing wrong with spending a few hours catching up with old friends scattered around the country. will make playing gears and halo that much more fun--easier to jump from game to game like sony has been promising (and not delivering) since forever.
-HARD DRIVE LOADING: going to literally breathe new life into long-forgotten games with improved performance, etc.
and that's just the tip of the icebird. let's just say i wouldn't be surprised if there are a few "surprises" in store on release day to please the hardcore fans that have been dying for this update since, well, forever....
That's actually a lie. It told me like 1 hr 20, and after 20 minutes just zoomed to the end.Wario64 said:Just got a 120gb hdd in preparation for this. Circuit City is selling them for $99 so go there if you couldnt find one at Target. This was at a CC location that is NOT closing, btw.
Damn transfer is taking 1 hour and 10 minutes. I want to install some games already. I only had 5.8 GB free on my 20 gig too. That's with NO demos or videos downloaded. Crazy. Damn XBLA and Rock Band tracks.
That's bullshit, unfortunately. Still plenty of load times in Banjo, but they are definitely shorter. I have a shit DVD drive, as well, so it's smoothed out the framerate a lot for me (as it has done with other disc-intensive games like FIFA 09.)[Nintex] said:Hype +10

Fuck you, disc read errors!
I'm certainly interested, but the reports have suggested that loading times for many of the more troublesome games aren't improved. Dead Rising could have used a boost, for instance, but it actually ends up loading slower at points. Here's hoping Sonic Unleashed sees an improvement as the previews thus far have demonstrated lengthy load times.Keavy_Rain said:91.7GB to install my entire collection, which isn't all that bad. More likely than not I won't install my entire collection because I'm not playing my entire collection right now but I do plan on installing Rock Band 2 as soon as the update is on my HDD because the 360's noise is a problem when playing a music game.
Anyone else as excited about this as I am? I so cannot wait for tomorrow morning.

Pretty sure the NXE kit is the 60GB Starter Kit.Gary Whitta said:The NXE is great but its functionality is going to be gimped for people with only the 20gb drive, especially if you plan on using game installs which is one of the best features IMO.
I upgraded to 120gb for this, got a good deal at a Circuit City that was closing down. I had been looking at the new and cheaper 60gb HDD, but that appears be aimed at Arcade upgraders and so has no transfer cable. What I'd like to see is a 60gb HDD with a transfer cable aimed at people who want the full functionality of the NXE, or at least a drop in price of the 120gb unit to something that isn't so much of an insult. Sell it as an "NXE kit" and make a killing.
