The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Yar, it seems like there are still some bugs surrounding customization. People say that you could customize the spot outside the wine cellar with some statues, while in my game there's this permanent giant vase there.

You could hang the painting you get after you rescued Dandelion in the main quest (the one given by some halflings) and the painting you buy from the auction in Heart of Stone. I read that you should be able to hang the Olgierd-Iris painting too, but somehow I can't.
I think I still had the painting from the auction but I must have sold the other one (if that's possible?) because I don't seem to have it anymore.

Ah ok. I just loaded up the game to double check, yep I'm missing both those paintings, but I did find out that I can put Regis' statue outside the wine cellar.

Regis' statue?

He's not
dead.
He's mentioned in the
Witcher Ciri
epilogue. The dwarves from the
Isle of Mists sell a Golden Chalice to one "Mr Mirrory".

So I loaded an end-game save for the base game as I'd read in yours (and I think another) about this addition from the HoS expansion for the
Ciri as a Witcher
ending in which
there's a bit about the dwarves from the Isle of Mists and an O'Dimm reference
. Didn't see this however in either the cutscene or storyboard visualization. Is it only for those who've started the game after installing the HoS expansion, or a specific place it's seen?

Kind of relived anyway as I loved that ending as it was.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

They're large bases on the map. I think there are three in total, can't remember where they are off my head. You can stroll into them any time for a fight, they're not quest related. The game will pause to display a help tip when you first get near one to explain a few things.

Once they're cleared you can no longer fight in them, so some leave a few alive so they can respawn.

Main and side quests. All the spaces on my walls are filled up.

I only have about 3-4 placeable things, including two from B&W, and I've completed everything. Most things can't be placed even when they should, like the Olgierd painting. Not to mention the trophy stand can only hold the trophies from B&W, nothing else. It was a poorly implemented idea imo.

How do I trigger that quest, i.e.
what should I be looking for in that forested area?

A
bandit camp
.

Hanse spoilers:

They have 3 major bases, once you trigger a fight someone will go try to light a signal fire. You kill him or put out the fire, or they get infinite reinforcements. One is in the northwest, one the southeast, and one central east. One is underground, one is in a tree house, and the last in a delrict castle.

I think that's what it was called. Looks like a Greco/Roman statue and it sits about two thirds the height of Geralt.

The reginald statue from the
missing 'family jewels' quest
, right. I think it's the only thing that can be placed there unless someone who took the (ending spoilers)
Unseen Elder path
knows if the statue you can loot in the cave also can be placed (which seems so much cooler).

Hopefully in a future patch CDPR can just have all of the paintings/shields for sale somewhere. Maybe the Ducal Camerlengo or the specialist dealer in Novigrad.

Yeah sorry, Reginald, that's the one.

How do you remember all this shit? Lol. I'm like a goldfish, as soon as the game's finished I forget almost everything.

I took that statue. "The Statuette of a Winged Demon", yar? I can't actually check because I got the permanent vase bug outside of the wine cellar. However, that statue is labeled as "Junk" so I doubt that it could be placed.

Yeah, that one. May load an end-game save and check as it has me curious. Wonder why it would be loot otherwise, seeing as it has no other purpose.

Update: just checked and nope, not placeable. This is the item for those interested. What a pity. The
Cantata sword
is pretty nice though.

Which armor is that?

So just started this last night after blowing through HoS (which was excellent) over the weekend. Got my vineyard and just did the quest for the enhanced mutations.

Would it be fair to say if the content of BnW was released as 'The Witcher 3' there wouldn't have been a soul questioning the amount of content? I mean I'm still pretty early and all, but looking at the map I'm pretty sure I've played smaller open world games that have been full price. The goings on have been pretty great so far as well. Oh, and it looks absolute tits as well. Staggering really for 20 bucks

One question I had from HoS (if I can ask here) Around about half way through quest spoilers.
The old lady you meet at the auction. The one who knew Ves and likes collecting Witchery related stuff. What happens if you do HoS before Kaer Morhen? Surely there's different dialogue after she asks about him? I'm pretty sure you can access HoS anytime after white orchid so....

Also I gotta say the
sunglasses
that you can buy in that mission was the best 350 Crowns I've ever spent. So fukn good

Yep, there's different dialogue. You can actually
ask Vesemir about her when you get to Kaer Morhen. I think he mentions that he might look her up after the battle, but doesn't want to beforehand given the odds they face :(
I've only seen that on YouTube videos though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got that dialogue tree. They were an item once.

I actually got two of those statues. So yea, just a random junk loot.

The armor is Grandmaster Griffin painted white, I assume.

Just finished...

I... feel empty. And I cannot bring myself to delete it off my HDD to make room for others in my backlog.

What do I do GAF?

Wake me up when 2077 is out.

People on PC should really look into mods if they aren't already. Super easy to install/remove and you can basically mod out 90% of the annoying shit/jank. Makes for a much better experience.

How far am i into the main story when I'm just about to go to a
party with the duchess after discovering that the Sangreal wine was given to bandits and the one blackmailing the vampire?

Hahaha! I feel EXACTLY the same. I wish they gave you a reason to keep exploring the world. :(

Why would you remove the toxicity effect? I love it.

It's a little strong for any build that walks around with decoctions active 90+% of the time. I like the mods that give Geralt more cat-like eyes, paler skin, and white eyebrows and HW beard. He looks more like a freak (which he should look like), but his face doesn't look like Madonna's forearm.

You know I just Googled that because you made me laugh and got me curious.

And now I cannot unsee that.

I want to get mad at you but I know I only have myself to blame.

Finished Blood & Wine just awhile ago. This is the best DLC of W3 and probably the best DLC I ever played in a long time. That said, can anyone confirm me if there's any other secondary quest developed as well as the one in which
the lady there is cursed and transformed in bird
? That was a really nice quest but for now all the others look like standard random side stories.

Finished up the Skellige Deck last night, fun deck, but even just playing NPC's that had the deck before I finished mine...they are so susceptible to scorch cards.

There are other VERY well done side quests (Extreme Cosplay comes to mind despite the difficulty) but none of them are that long or detailed. My suspicion is that the tourney was actually designed to be part of the main quest but they couldn't manage to make it fit with the story so they just repurposed it as a side quest. There is SO MUCH work put into that whole sequence.

I have a question about the ending/post-game:
If you visit Orianna and learn her secret, is it possible to ever cross swords with her later down the track?

So, when are you supposed to be
visited by Dandelion/Ciri
after the main questline?
Yennefer's
been here for a while, and I've been running about applying glyphs 'n such to my Grandmaster stuff, yet still haven't received a visit.

[EDIT] - Whoops. Messed up that spoiler tag.

Pretty sure you only get one visit unfortunately.

Finally reached
the land of a thousand fables.
Too bad I've read about it beforehand, so it wasn't really a big surprise.

Game's goddamn amazing, though. I'm already dreading finishing it.

D: So
Dandelion/Ciri
only turn up if you have the
forever alone
ending?

That sucks.

Agreed. A MASSIVE mis-step.

The game does such a good job building your relationship with
Ciri that it is bizarre that it thinks you would rather see Yen/Triss over her.

The
Ciri
ending has a pretty glaring translation error though, so I'm fine with missing that meeting.

wine handover ambush.
