yes there is positive and there is matt slobbing on the thing like a drunken coed. i dont think anyone believed nintendo was going to release the wii version with a broken control system but i also dont think matts HOLY ****ING SHIT WII CONTROLS SHIT ON GCN CONTROLS SHIT SHIT SHIT is all that enlightening or even accurate.Mr. TV Goggles said::lol So Matt is the only one who is positive?
1UP:
Zelda's Wii controls have been greatly improved since E3, making the use of secondary weapons feel like second nature. Click the image above to check out all Twilight Princess screens. [...] Although the control scheme isn't entirely flawless, it allows for a level of precision and ease of use that's an encouraging surprise
GameDaily:
First off, the Wii mote control is fabulous. It's so intuitive and comfortable that it makes today's controllers (even the much heralded Xbox 360 game pad) feel archaic. The remote needs to be within range of it's sensor bar, and it's not uncommon to have to adjust it so that everything works in tandem, but for the most part, the remote is very flexible, allowing for on the lap as well as in the air play.
Seems a little better than "alright". Hell, I think we may even call those impressions "good". What do you say, Draft?
Here's more impressions from two more websites, but since they are Nintendo fan websites you'll probably just ignore them anyway:
GoNintendo:
I felt it was extremely important to get others viewpoints instead of just my own when it came to the Wiis control success rate. The honest overall opinion of myself, and the journalists that I talked to is this. If you play Twilight Princess on the Cube, we feel that you are missing out on an amazing experience. [...] I just did what felt natural for what was going on in the game. Swinging the Wiimote and Nunchuck to perform Links attacks adds such a visceral experience to the game it truly does further the entire Zelda experience. [...] Using the Wiimote to control Links sword attacks is just too much fun. It worked for me 100% of the time.
Planet Gamecube:
[some spoiler impressions] [...] The satisfying part is getting the lock-on with a moving target, and it's made much easier with the remote controller.
Well, bless my soul, Draft. I guess this means Matt's not the only one who seems positive on Wii controls.

sometimes you realize your original post might be incorrect, overly antagonistic or otherwise disruptive. that's what the edit button is there for.Zilch said:I'm getting the GC version but you're just being a delusional prick in this thread.
edit: good job editing your original post. maybe it really is time for you to leave the thread.

Alex said:Are there any visual or content differences between the two versions? Or is it just controls and widescreen or whatever.
WindyMan said:This is hard to say, since Nintendo has not shown the GameCube version to anyone since E3 2005, and will not show it again until it releases on December 13.
From what I've heard the GC version looks slightly worse than the Wii version. Wii can do better lighting and effects, but other than that it's been said they look comparable.

gamespot impressions said:The system works well for the most part, and, most significantly, the game features a decent amount of options to tweak stuff by letting you calibrate the pointer movement, clean up the HUD by removing the pointing cursor, and invert your look
Adagio said:Hmm...I dunno! Did Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask use an aiming reticle? Boy, did that ever make no sense...
But, hey...if you can remove Navi, woot!
BorkBork said:Why would it let you remove the red dot for aiming? That makes NO sense.

maybe you get a tiny circle instead of navi? that's how it should be to begin with anywaygamergirly said:How are you supposed to even see your target if Navi is removed?
Mashing said:Because you can use the analog stick for aiming if you so wish.
gamergirly said:How are you supposed to even see your target if Navi is removed?
Mashing said:BorkBork, read the impressions linked in this thread. You can aim with the Wiimote OR you can aim with the analog stick on the nunchuck. One thing is abundantly clear, Nintendo is giving you lots of options in the Wii version of the game. Read Matt's impression for a rundown of the options.
Mashing said:Some of you need to go back and play OoT and shoot the bow and arrow. How quickly we seem to forget how it functioned (btw I always had trouble aiming that damn bow so I'm thrilled there's actually a cursor this time).
BorkBork said:Thanks. I tried to read through it, but he put the detailed options menu directly in the spoilers for some retarded reason.

Akia said:So how spoilerish is the recent 1upShow if I haven't seen the game intro or the latest trailer?
AniHawk said:Very spoilerish. To a point where I wish I hadn't seen it.
Kobun Heat said:I posted this in the spoiler thread as well (mostly because I didn't know there were two Zelda threads happening at once), but:
My impressions are going up later tonight, but in the meantime: the Wii version is superior in every way to the GameCube game. If you have a Wii and buy the GameCube version of Zelda you are completely insane.
