TheSameCoin Rumor: DriveClub delayed till 2014

Was NFS Rivals officially pushed back to Nov 22 (or was that just a rumor)?

Would be very weird having a Sony console launch with no racing game of any sort.
 
I feel like the fact that Knack is already packed in with the Japanese PS4 pretty much guarantees it'll be the PS+ game for US/EU too. They've already shown willingness to give it away with the system, no reason not to with PS+ too.

As its looking like DC will be delayed I'm starting to get fairly curious as to why

If the article in the OP is to be believed the delay is until spring 2014

I cannot imagine optimization taking that long

It either has to be the biggest bug ever or they feel the need to add a significant amount of content

Also curious why the delay came so close to launch. I can understand Ubisoft being tightlipped about WD up to launch but Sony being the platform holder would want to get ahead of this as quick as possible and handle people's expectations accordingly

I don't know, I just feel like we're going to be suprised if we ever figure out why it was delayed

Does anyone think injustice could be a possible replacement for driveclub if it is delayed considering it just appeared recently out of nowhere as a launch title for the ps4 and oddly their are no xbox one and WiiU editions of the the game?

And I think you overrate the number of people who play offline only. The best-selling games are almost all multiplayer-capable, are they not? Sure there are a few high-selling SP only titles like Skyrim, but you would figure most people who own that game also have CoD or BF or ME3.

I agree with you. And next gen, more and more games will have seamless online MP integration in games. But I wasn't trying to make a point that alot of people don't play online. My point was that there are alot of non online players who still buy PS+ for the IGC and discounts alone

Good point. If this is true, why possible 4-6 month delays this close to launch? That is a lot of time.
 
LttP... But I really hope this isn't the case. There is no other game I want to play as much as Driveclub on launch :(... Please Evolution, don't do this to me...
 
All these people banned from this thread, were they because of "lol ps4 has no games"-comments or something else?

Basic thought would be a racing game on PS4 might cannibalize some GT5 sales on PS3 considering there's what 3 weeks between releases in the US and only one week in the UK?

Sony planned it that way from the get go, if they wanted to change it they'd do so a hell of a lot earlier

But somehow this lack of mysteriousness seems to work against me sometimes. Like verendus just pops out of the woodwork and it's like HOLY SHIT HE POSTED and everyone goes nuts. Meanwhile I post all day so it's like "oh, another mort post." That's not to say I'm not appreciated, I know I am, but it can be frustrating... especially when other people get credit for shit you mentioned.

These posts give you personality on Gaf Mortimer ;) keep up the juicy insider info. I like how you explain your insider info in your posts. You put your account on the line by trusting your sources. That's guts right there.

Also keep calling out those super vague "insiders". Yes some are insiders like you say while others are blowing smoke by beating around the bush....then theirs cboat...


Back on topic. Kinda bummed if this is delayed was certainly looking forward to playing the PS+ version first on it. My launch consists of Killzone, BF 4 and maybe AC4
 
This is 63 pages, has there been any other confirmation than famousmortimer's in the OP? Worst news I've heard all week, this was the only launch title I actually wanted..

The delay if as big as it is puts it out to spring next year means something larger than even a jump from 30 to 60 fps

Sony misjudged it and doesn't want DriveClub underperforming and being forgotten due to GT6 coming out right after it?

Then move it to spring to further help infamous compete with titanfall?

Assuming this rumor is true, I don't think it's such a big deal. I always thought the game looked somewhat lackluster, and the fact that it was going to be a launch title was worrying considering the studio said the game was only 35% complete a few months ago. It was also telling that Sony was going to offer it for PS+ at launch, which is them basically devaluing it right out of the gate. I think if this actually was coming at launch, it would disappoint because it would probably be rushed.

Now that the game is delayed, they actually might be able to get it running at 60 FPS and make sure the game shines. I think this can only be a good thing.

Famousmortimer has checked up on it with some insiders and they confirm it so it's pretty much guaranteed at this time

If i was a betting man I'd place it on the next GT showing up in around 2yrs (±1yr delay not included).

The main reason i'm not getting a PS4 until, likely, late next year is due to the fact that GT6 will undoubtedly keep me entertained for months and KZ:SF day one DLC has already soured me on that game. On the flip side i can still place all those PS+ PS4 games in my download queue and hit the ground running when i eventually get one

Assuming this is what you meant by "the other way around", no. Such a thought would not have gone unnoticed for so long. That would be a gross underestimation of Sony head honchos' IQ. They've been so meticulous so far. I agreed with your original comment. If the delay were true, it's neither 60 fps nor GT. :)
 
I'll be surprised if Sony gives us anything at all. They already have a couple of f2p games, multiple cross buy games, and Resogun.

If anyone truly preordered PS4 only for DC, then cancel your preorder and i'm sure someone will snatch it up right away. They don't really have to give us anything. I'm sure they would give us something just to deflect the bad news with good news. But more free games? Doubt it. Especially Knack since it was doing better in preorders.
