I just cancelled my PS4 pre-order with Amazon

I just can't justify picking one up to play one game (Resogun) when I will have the XONE and at least 5 titles that I am desperate to play (Forza5, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Crimson Dragon) and if I am doing that I may as well pick up BF4, COD and AC4 for the XONE as well.

I will probably now get one when Infamous drops next year.

It's now being reported by a lot of sites like IGN so the rumour is very visable. The devs should have responded by now.

I'm sure there is a lot of scrambling going on. Devs probably know it needs more time, execs pushing for 24 hour crunch and offering virgin sacrifice for a miracle. We'll probably find out if Beelzebub took the offering by tomorrow.

Know what you mean, if it wasn't for Killzone I'd just get Black Flag on X1 and wait it out until next year. Two consoles in a week is a boat load of money in the UK at the moment. Launch wise the X1 has a much better line up for me now, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Forza, Crimson Dragon. I'm even keeping an eye on Ryse in case it turns out decent.

I can understand Watchdogs being delayed when they have six versions to get ready with two new consoles but I really didn't see fisrt party delays coming at all.

But I can see how from Sony's point of view it would be better to delay it, make it good and also launch in the post-lauch lull period. Frankly, ps4 is going to sell out until January anyway.

That ad has more to do with the Xbox One. ESO is there to counter Ryse, Driveclub is there to counter Forza, and a surprisingly mech- and vehicle-heavy Killzone appearance is to counter Titanfall, which is easily the biggest One exclusive so far.

No, because this whole thread made me think about it. I always order new tech just because I love it and want to have it at launch. When I was reading through this thread I realised that I would be buying one to only play Resogun, Driveclub and possibly Killzone.

Add this to the XONE stuff I am getting and I would be spending £1200 in 2 weeks on 2 consoles.
I was PUMPED for Watchdogs and now that's gone I can pick up the 3rd party on XONE and save a LOT of ££ until after xmas.

I think I am better off going XONE until Infamous drops and more titles are announced that I am going to play.

I totally agree. Although Killzone isn't a system seller for me. It's just not an IP that I am really into.

A good option if you are in the UK is www.boomerangrentals.co.uk. I have contacted them and they are supporting all next gen at launch. £6 a month.

Was getting both Watchdogs and Driveclub at launch along with Black Flag and Killzone, so half my launch games delayed. I would think about cancelling until next year but I'm a massive Killzone fan, loved it since the PS2 game so I'll be keeping my order. Maybe move my NFS Rivals order from X1 to PS4 to fill the gap.

What I don't understand is how can someone make a pre-order for a $400 without being fully informed on the lineup, cause certainly DC isn't the reason to give up on a pre-order. X1 linup is better with or without DC.

I think that they will pretty much have parity at launch and in the first year. Maybe a higher framerate here and there on PS4.

I don't think Driveclub being delayed or not is important here but I do feel that the PS+ initiative is.

Sony were aiming at XBL users switching & with charging for Multiplayer via PS+ & having Driveclub free day one was a big carrot & a decent softener to current PS players upgrading to PS+. It also set a decent bar as to what the service entailed for newcomers, So I'm more concerned with the PS+ ramifications of Driveclub being delayed than the actual title itself?

Sony have to be careful with a replacement "IF" Driveclub is delayed, moneyhat a AAA & they potentially set the bar too high as that may become what's expected from the service from day one which being Launch I do feel the 1st year on PS+ won't be a wash with AAA ( well not for the 1st 6 months at least). On the other hand if they replace ith a lesser known indie title that no one has any interest in then PS+ becomes less appealing.

It's a tough call either way.

Gimped graphics on PS4 on purpose and leaving that much untapped power will still result in smoother framerates with much fewer dips. So even if the look is exactly the same, the performance during high density action will still tell the tale.

Still, you should have at least waited to cancel your pre-order until there was official word from a Sony spokesperson. Kinda silly cancelling a pre-order over an internet rumour that hasn't been substantiated yet.
