Yeah they obviously don't care about the character or even if their movies are good. They just want to get that Marvel money. He's probably a fan too, wouldn't surprise me if he's pissed at they way their handling the IP.

Yep, I reckon so. They probably have him signed up for a good 5 films I bet, and it won't be easy to get out of that contract. If they have to recast Batman again they'll probably just scrap the lot and reboot the film universe altogether.
 
I kind of hope this is true if it will cause a DC movie universe reboot.

Let's just try again. New cast for all the characters, clean slate, new vision and art direction
 
If he really wants out I'm sure he and WB could come to some kind of financial settlement. Affleck and WB are pretty close, not just for DCEU. The ramification for the movies would be huge though. I think they'd have to just blow it all up.

I've resigned to not seeing Helena(either) or Kate Kane in movies.
But Dick, Jason and Barbara absolutely have to happen.
Tim, Cass and Steph need to happen.

Yeah, Helena (Wayne) is never happening. If Bertinoulli does it will be ala Justice League Unlimited or Green Arrow where she's not part of the Batfam.

The most likely are probably Dick, Damian, Jason, and Babs.

I would love this. The only problem is, it's a temporary fix. Nolanverse isn't friendly to the DCU as a whole and eventually we need to get to a point where we can have good DC movies beyond the Batman corner

I think I kind of just want a Batman Beyond movie
 
Honestly while i don't like any of the movies this probably just a bullshit rumour, we just had talks about a director and Ben Affleck is likely obligated to do batman and more than likely stepped down due to live by night and the stress. While WB is a mess in regards to DC, i doubt it has gotten this bad.

gross, dudes fine in civil war but he looks a bit dorky. which is appropriate for the character. Jack O Connell would be a dope Terry McGinnis tho. him opposite Bale...:whew:

Scripts are being thrown in the garbage. Directors are being tossed. Shit is bad at DC WB right now. And they're still making money..

I think Ben is probably obligated to be in one solo Batman at least, but I could see him exiting after that.

Yeah, Holland wouldn't be good for it, that's just the first name to come to mind and I can't think of a better one off the top of my head (I'm not familiar with young actors nowadays).
 
I prefer the leave The Dark Knight Trilogy alone unless Nolan really want to do a Robin/Nightwing sequel, have Batman return and he's really confident in the script.

Otherwise I would just leave it be.

I sadly keep hoping Supergirl can do Helena Wayne somehow if they ever get to PowerGirl. it isn't likely though.
I really feel they will eventually do Batwoman, even as a 1 time thing to develop Maggie.

Everyone else including Cass and Steph have too much movie potential in WB's eyes even if they don't actually use them.

People aren't being serious, at least I hope. Because there is less than zero chance of Nolan and/or Bale returning. Anyone who thinks there is even the smallest of possibilities is out of their fucking minds.
 
actually never mind that, cast Jack O Connell as Dick Grayson WB, do it.

edit: more jason todd actually. these guys need to bring in the robin legacy.

There is no point in continuing the Nolanverse without Nolan or Bale. Might as well start from scratch.

To be honest I'd rather they just ditch the Cinematic Universe ambitions and go back to solo flicks. You can still do some loosely connected stuff if you want to within specific movies, but you don't have to be tied to making every movie fit together. Do more of an Else worlds Cinematic Universe.

I dislike BvS and Suicide Squad as much as the next person but that would be kind of shitty of him to just exit when this, admittedly bad so far, movie universe is just starting. Maybe he just doesn't want to do a solo Batman movie, which is one thing but if he is completely exiting he'd being screwing over tons of people their jobs and of their hard work.

I don't see how any of that is his problem. Yeah there are contracts but it's Hollywood, those can be amended. The movies are just not up to the standard he was probably expecting, and these movies are huge undertakings, requiring a lot of work and dedication for a guy like Affleck, and more importantly, taking up time where he could be doing something else worthwhile.

Crazier shit has happened, if at some point down the road they (mostly Nolan, because it sounds like Bale is game if Nolan is) want to do a one off 'The Dark Knight Returns' movie it would get green lit in a second.
 
Such a big thread for a terrible rumor. GAF has a hardon for ending the DCEU.

IDK... didn't like SS too much (although the characters were cool), I liked BvS for what it tried to do. It's got its... imperfections... Jesse I'm looking at you.

I guess we'll find out definitively soon when they do press tours. Someone is gonna ask Ben if he plans on staying on.

Can I please just get Batman Beyond? Please?! Idc who directs. Nolan picking back up and running it as a sequel to Rises can work. I just need a Batman Beyond movie. Sick of seeing Bruce Bruce Bruce yet no Terry.

I had to google real quick just to make sure they didn't change the character origin in the new comic book or something and made Dick, Bruce's son. I haven't keep up with the comic at all, thought they pulled some fuckery.

I'm confused.. Damian is Bruce only biological son, Dick is adopted.

I know some people loves Damian, but I rather not have him before Dick or Tim.
