Today in DCEU: Affleck reportedly wants out as Batman

I had to google real quick just to make sure they didn't change the character origin in the new comic book or something and made Dick, Bruce's son. I haven't keep up with the comic at all, thought they pulled some fuckery.

I'm confused.. Damian is Bruce only biological son, Dick is adopted.
Umm.

Adopted children are just as much someone's kid as biological ones.

LOL
I don't even dislike him(except Injustice) I just hate the whole true heir/child thing that is layed on so heavily with Damian.
That's like 90% of where my hate comes from.

not so easy, is it matt damon

I hope this is just a rumor spiraling out of control. Affleck was the best part of BvS, and I thought he was phenomenal in the role!

What's the point? I don't understand why you're confused that I called Dick Bruce's kid if you knew he was adopted. :P
I've talked to a lot of people before that was like "noooo, Dick isn't even Bruce's son. There's no way he'll ever truly inherent the mantle of Batman." (Not that he want to)

Heck even Damian says it. So in your original post, I thought you were one of those people judging by the tone of your post.

Oh no. I am the exact opposite of those people.

I thought you were talking about the shitty "Robin" we got in DKR and was like NOPE. If Dick isn't raised by Bruce there's no point. :P Sorry for the miscommunication. ;-;

Damn, I think the best thing to come out of the DCEU would be a documentary covering behind the scenes stuff and showing how it all fell apart.

I knew Nolan wasn't going to do Robin. He hated the idea. But he compromised by throwing us a nod. I'm alright with that decision.

But yeah Grayson need to be on the big screen.

It's honestly a shame that the DCEU is so shitty, we might have to wait even longer now to see Nightwing. Assuming they'll reboot the DCEU if WW and JL ends up bad as well.

It's really a stark (haha) difference that we'll finally get to see the entire Marvel Universe heroes together in Infinity War and it's going to be amazing, and on the other hand Justice League... May or may not be completely terrible.

its crazy to me how terrible the suits at wb are.

comic book movies are the hottest shit in the world and you have the two biggest possible franchises, yet you get donkey stomped by deadpool and captain america

I don't see this happening anytime soon. If he bails out, it would be after "The Batman". But what's the point in working with an actor who doesn't want to be there and you already know he won't be around much longer?
The thing that bugs me the most it's the fact that the very first script written by Affleck was basically "Arkham Asylum: the movie". Apparently, that script wasn't good enough. Then Terrio came in and the rest is known. I guess people at WB doesn't want us to have nice things?

I bet they have Ryan Reynolds in preliminary talks for Batman.

goddamn it. He was so good!!

This.

If true, this is sad for many reasons. One, he was a good Batman and a better Bruce Wayne than Bale's. Two, it was his dream to play Batman since his early days of acting. Three, of all the things to break him when it comes to acting/directing, it wasn't the fans or any of his previous bad films, but DC/WB are going to be the ones to finally break him due to their odd decision making and disagreements.

I'd love if we could get Joe Manginelo as Batman instead of Slade Wilson. He'd be great for the role.

If not, cast someone in their early 30s. Affleck was too old for the role.

Wtf? Seriously, DCEU just needs to bring their animation movies to life. Why is this such a challenge for them? I just, not too long ago, got finished with the son of batsman and flash point which was so good. Why is live action so tough? I don't get it

joe mangianello would be terrible as batman. he's a beast though, but just keep him as slade.

i like the rumor that John Cleese is playing his butler.

I was only half-joking in that other thread about him not wanting to direct The Batman about how long it would be until he didn't want to be The Batman either. I guess it ended up being not very long. DCCU is trainwrecking in fairly spectacular fashion.

I feel like no one gives Marvel and Disney enough credit for how well they've handled the MCU all things considered. Adapting comic books to movies was never an easy thing and MCU has managed an unbelievable amount of success even though some entries have been mediocre and Avengers: Age of Ultron was straight-up bad.

He is the best batman we have ever had. Would be sad to see him go.

I think under the right direction, Affleck would have been an amazing Batman unmatched, but with the way DC decided to go, I would rather Affleck bail out and DC do a complete reboot focusing on the essentials of each character, building up the individual movies, and creating a plan for bigger movies like Justice League. I think having Superman be the world's "first" public superhero, having Batman be more of a myth in his own hometown, etc. are all good ideas that can be used for the next one. Superman being the catalyst for the formation of the Justice League as bigger threats become known and these heroes should be looking at these world ending threats instead of having just Superman take them on.

If Wonder Woman bombs and Justice League is just as bad as BvS and underperforms, there is a very good chance they reboot after a couple years break.

That's the other thing, while WB goes back to the drawing board, they can still keep DC properties relevant with the LEGO movies.

More baseless rumors gaining traction due to confirmation bias, nothing to see here.

I feel like I'm trying to have fun and enjoy the DCEU, and then a bunch of Marvel people swing through and kick apart all the sandcastles, and opine about how the inferior quality of said sandcastles meant that they deserved to be kicked apart.

Meanwhile they remain blissfully unaware that they come off as jerks who just like to kick apart other people's sandcastles.

I honestly don't believe Affleck would step down. Batman is DC's most bankable IP. While I wasn't a big fan of a murdering Batman, many seemed to like Snyder's take on the character.

I guess it all depends on how well WW and JL do this year.

This is what happens when DC purposely sets out to be the anti-MCU.

Seriously...
Take this
Batman_mask_of_the_phantasm_poster.jpg

expand it to 2 hours, bam the best live action Batman movie by a mile.

or this
Batman_under_the_red_hood_poster.jpg

More Nightwing and more Jason flashbacks and its literally the perfect DCEU movie to follow BvS and SS.

Assault on Arkham already showed they should have done that.
Literally the only problem with the DTVs is sometimes the runtime makes them feel rushed a 2 hour expanded version would be perfect.

Oh man, one of the things I liked about BvS was that Affleck was actually a pretty good Batman. If this is true it doesn't bode well for the DCEU, well, not just this, I also find the movies have been mediocre, as most people have.

Well I have 3 sources saying they were invited at bens house to discuss batman, he said he wants to quit now and he having lower abdomen pain, he said he don't give a fuck about the contract he had it hidden below the mattress which he brought and lit it in front of them with stove lighter.
One of the sources said that He had tattoos on his belly, he said he doesn't like lays but still go grocery.
