Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Most TV shows are having their Summer break, but there's always Toonami.

You know what I wanted someone to ask at Momocon? "What the hell was up with Wulin Warriors?"

B-Dubs:

I just don't get why the scene exists the way it does in the first place, there's literally no goddamn reason for it to.

I figure its some function of "look how evil Ragyo is!" and "look how much power she has over Satsuki!". Controversial stuff like that isn't inherently off the table for fiction. The issue is the way the scene is shot, framed, animated, whatever is way too titillating. Its like they tired to have thier cake and eat it too and as a result is comes off as extra gross.

So, if Akame Ga Kill is airing on August 8th, is KLK getting pre-empted for the 4th of July or are they airing the OVA?

I assume pre-epmtion

I mean I get that but they just went way too far with it. If you're doing something like that it shouldn't be fan service-y.

This is another issue I have with Fairy Tail (spoilers in case anyone cares).
There's a scene in a recent arc where Erza is stripped naked and chained up. She's tortured, but the way it's drawn is highly sexualized and titillating. Constant close-ups of her ass and cleavage (since it's a Shonen manga and can't show nipples), the whole thing is gross and borderline pornographic.

Mishima really just wants to be drawing porn.

You know, there was a time where I fought to get onto the Wall of Shame (For SmashGAF, admittedly). I'm fine with only posting once or twice every few pages now.

Speaking of me only being around once in awhile, it's cool to see Michiko & Hatchin made it onto the block! However, which show is it replacing, and which show is Akame no Kill replacing after that?

EDIT: Oh. I was typing this as Seda was posting. And hey, maybe they'll marathon Kai near the end/middle? Or something?

Alright, I think Sailor Moon Crystal replaces Michiko & Hatchin, and JoJo replaces Akame ga Kill!

I think both those shows are just a matter of time.

Michiko & Hatchin will replace Final Act & air June 20.

Akame ga Kill will replace Kill la Kill & air August 8.

Michiko & Hatchin is replacing Inuyasha: The Final Act on June 20th.
Akame ga Kill! is replacing Kill la Kill on August 8th.

On that note the June 20th schedule might leak this week, although I doubt Michiko will slide ahead of KLK/SAO.

Actually, seeing Kill la Kill's end date does make me question if we'll get the OVA episode (which would be hard to do since it's about 27 minutes & the ED contains more scenes), but it counts as sort of a "true ending".

But we have July 4th, so I feel like we're gonna get a "well screw it, we know ratings won't be good, here's another marathon or something" night.

They could say that that scene was intended to show how evil Raygo is, but like all the fanservice defenders of the show claims is "satire, the intent to titillate was obvious.

Naruto Shippuden would be a much better show if the main character was Asuma instead of Naruto

Right......I agree with you.

The ova is considered episode 25 and for all intents and purposes it's the ending of the show. I could definitely see them ignoring it but it would be a mistake to do so.

You could say the same thing for like half of the secondary cast.

Sure but Asuma is in the show banner in the OP of this thread which is why I name dropped him. The banner would make a neophyte think he's the main character.

I get a good laugh when people say it parodies "modern anime" when in reality it constantly references older anime. You know, back when anime was apparently 100% good shows and there was no fanservice or moe or whatever to ruin it :p

Also what is and isn't satire is often lost on people :p

Yeah I kinda just rotate through currently relevant characters sometimes. I'm sure I'll put a Shikamaru render there soon enough.

I like how the filler arcs are acknowledged as filler and thus take place in an alternate universe rather than trying to jerryrig it into the canon show
