That's awesome. I didn't realize she was that tall. I wish I had tall counters -- bending over sucks when washing dishes etc.

Yes, she's very well known. She popularized French cuisine in the US with her famous cookbook and this show. These episodes should be from early 60s (1963?).

As opposed to "The French Chef?" A lot of Food Network programming is garbage, Julia Child was legitimately a great cook and a great teacher. I learned more watching a few episodes of Child's show than I ever learned from the Food Network.

Food Network is entertainment, a Julia Child marathon would be education.
