Gaethje is a very, very dangerous opponent, and I could see him defeat Khabib...I wish for the opposite to happen, honestly, but I would not be surprised by any result at this point. Good fight incoming...

I'd make the argument that any of the top 5 of that division could easily be champ, well, all top 5 of the Lightweight divisions have been champ at some point. But that weight class is so top heavy with talent that any given day, any of them could easily be champ. MMA math just doesn't work for that class.

Not a fan of Khabib but I think he takes a close fight after weathering some scary moments in especially round 1.

The only issues I see are the no live fan support he’d usually get there and the fact he’s lost his Dad this year.

To be fair, Conor defended those takedowns pretty well. He also won a round, which I can't recall anyone else doing recently against Khabib. I also recall him saying his foot was fucked up going into that fight. Not saying the outcome would be any different the 2nd time around.
He won that round cause Khabib was insisting on fighting standing up until his coach told him to stick to wrestling.

I’m not understanding the guys comparing Connor to Justin striking. Connor is dangerous but Justin is throwing evil intent and he’s throwing it in volume, and the attack to to the lower body is equally brutal. No comparison. Connor is a sniper, Justin is a buzz saw. Ferguson always had gaping holes in his defense, but I can’t recall a more brutal beating in the UFC.

Ferguson's last 7 fights before Gaethje.

Gaethje has crazy stamina considering how hard and vicious he throws. He really put it on Tony, I thought that Gaethje was gonna be a harder fight for Tony than Khabib to be honest and I was right. Connor has a left hand shot and about 2 rounds worth of good stamina. Connor would get smoked by any of the top 5 of the division. It's why he hasn't fought any of the top 5. He want's a title shot and a hope that his staggering left is enough to get the job done. Connor now isn't the same hungry Connor we saw all those years ago.

What are ya'lls thoughts on Whitaker vs. Cannonier?

Yeah I mean as far as blood but those shots Tony was taking were just unbelievable to me. Cannonier is scary man, that should be a good fight. I haven’t watched either guy enough where I feel pretty knowledgeable about them as fighters. But definitely to me the Justin/Tony fight was the only fight where I was wincing watching it, it was more scary than entertaining after a point. It was like the real life meme of

You HAVE To watch Whittaker vs. Romero 1 + 2. Some of the best fights of that division. Watching Whitaker trying to chop down Romero was something else. He also tore up Darren Till pretty good. He was the champ too until he lost that fire and Adesanya took it from him.

-------------------------

And my boy Tai Tuivasa really needs a win. God I hope he wins. I really like having him around the division. He's my Mark Hunt sub, even if he's not as good.

Watching khabib hit whatever ball he wants in that pool interview killed me.

Watching the tony vs justin fight, everyone not familiar with tony would think that justin has pillow punches...

It's nothing short of inhuman how tony was still able to stand, call me crazy but i think that 10 punches from gaetjie are enough to ko even an heavyweight, let alone 50+ punches...

Even if i hate conor, i think he will smoke dustin pretty easy.

His punches are the worst type of punches because you don't see them coming and they shock your brain more than a stronger punch that you can see coming, and dustin doesn't have diaz chin.

I think a guy like olivera with supreme ju jitsu is a far more dangerous opponent, dustin only has a good choke.
Even islam is a worse matchup than dustin.

Cannonier right now has that aura of being unbeatable, i don't know how to explain better.

He really looks fucking calm and scary.

Yeah, taking shit like that changes a whole career. I foresee Tony getting KO'd in the future by stuff he was shrugging off before.

I don’t think anyone could ever be the same after the beating he took

I mean... Conor has already beaten Dustin before, but that was a long time ago and Dustin is a much different fighter and a much better fighter than he was then. I think it'd play out a lot differently. But you are right, Conor has such a flashing left straight. But I think Dustin's chin is stronger than you give him credit for. He had an absolute slobberknocker of a fight with Gaethje and Gaethje has a lot of power too. I think Gaethje, Poirier and Ferguson would all beat Conor, especially at 155. 170 I could see him having a better chance as he doesn't have to cut nearly as much and has a lot more power. But 155? Conor couldn't touch the top 5 of that division.

------------------------------------

And Cannonier does kinda have that aura. I'd say too though that it seems like Whittaker got that fire back he lost before he fought Adesanya. I could easily see their fight lasting 1 round, or being a FOTY contender too. Both are incredible fighters.

I think that conor can beat both dustin and tony, having some problems with justin and mauled by khabib.

Conor fighting dustin means that he is 110% sure of winning, a loss would compromise him vs pacquiao or him vs floyd 2.

Well Dana said they have a tentative fight schedule in January but the UFC wants to do it at 155 and Conor wants to fight at 170. I'm under the impression that Conor can either fight at 155 or the fight won't happen. Here's hoping. 🤞🤞

I really hope that he does box Pacquiao or Floyd again so I can bet against him and make some money.

i think all the money made him lazy, he is only gonna cut weight to 155 for another shot at khabib.

i'm actually surprised by dana opposing to this, he is probably riding khabib and chimaev's dicks and there is no place for conor at the moment...

how much money you can make? they are gonna be huge favourites against him.

I'd do straight bets against my friends and family that for some reason think Conor is still top of his game. If there's one thing we can give McGregor credit for is the cult of personality he's built around himself.

Khabib will win, I guess. But I hope that Justin will be able to give a competitive fight. Maybe Khabib will be exhausted by losing weight as always.
