Uncharted 3: Subway's Deception Multiplayer Discussion [New Patch Released]

managed to get into one "optimal" lag free game and did great, for the most part though been breaking even in laggy matches - hopefully a lot of EU people join next week so its balanced

Now that I've played this a few more hours I'm beginning to be as good as I was in the beta. Which means I'm enjoying this more and more.

I haven't experienced bad lag much at all. Only few times an enemy has killed me and dies a few seconds later by me.

My favourite map is probably that night map, Syria?. The least favourite is probably Chateu, there's too much camping.

I think sprint is a tad too fast and you're to agile when using it.

Got to level 14. Don't think I have had fun once.

16 here and feel about the same.

Weapons feel weird, most of them kinda useless. Perks don't change the playstyle all that much. Still way too many simultaneous kills where you die yourself as well. Uncharted will probably stay a SP game for me, I am having way more fun with he BF3 beta and that one is buggy as hell.

Strongly disagree. There isn't any tearing, but the game has mad aliasing.
Can someone post direct feed screens? Impressions on the visuals are all over the place. I've heard it looks better than the Beta, from "aliasing" all over the place. Show dem picz son.

OK, a few things I've noticed:
-I think hitboxes might have been reduced or I've had a few cases of poor hit detection. There's been a couple of times I've been certain I've had a headshot (not dead center but at the edge of the bald adventurer's dome) and got nothing.
-Mobility while sprinting really is crazy. Try running around in a circle.
-I think grenades may have a longer fuse. Blindfiring a grenade takes a little longer too but that doesn't bother me.
-I don't really like the new sniper crosshairs, either of them but aesthetically the new T-bolt one seems more out of place.

Man i suck at these games.
Granted i'm still level 4 or something (played a bunch of times), but everytime there's someone in front of me (even if i'm behind him) i can't for the life of me line a good shot, God forbid a headshot; so basically i either kill him with melee or a granade, otherwise i'm dead.
And there are players who go for the head like fucking cyborgs, lol.
So as i was saying, i suck at these games.. lucky me i'm getting it for the singleplayer.

For me, the beta was perfect. I know I sound like a broken record, but I played every single day and got to level 38.

Everyone in the beta thread said how amazing the gunplay/everything felt and not to change a thing.

So why was it changed? Was the beta feedback garbage? I'm going to hope for a patch in the next few weeks. I'm going to keep forcing myself to play, but right now, I feel like switching my pre-order to BF3. Not out of spite, but because I am honestly not having fun.

Sucks because I have been waiting for this since the beta ended.

So is there no coop at all? As I've been leveling up it says I've been unlocking coop stuff but the coop from main screen is greyed out

Something about the shooting just feels off to me. Too much recoil, hit boxes being smaller, something. It would be more fun if it wasn't that way.

Yeah, that's the problem with the game. It's not fun; not satisfying. It feels different compared to the beta. But I'll play it a bit more, hopefully my opinion about it should change.

I'm still liking it, but yeah there is something that feels a bit different than the beta. Something's off. The beta was addicting as hell and I loved it and played way too much of it.

Heh, uh... I think you're misremembering. Or projecting because you felt that way, therefore thinking everyone else must've. It was pretty stunning to see the end of the beta be met with all these people complaining about every little thing.

Also pretty funny to have seen people say they wanted the speed increase and that sprint was useless to now be whining that the beta speed was perfect and why oh why would ND ever change a thing.

Yeah, true, maybe. The beta felt very very rewarding. Addicting.

I think sprint is fine. It's blindfire + sprint that's the problem.

And I can't stress enough how bad these guns are.

Has everyone in here apologized for their pre-beta over-the-top negativity? Remember how Power Plays were going to ruin the game? Remember how Kickbacks were a bunch of Call of Duty bullshit? Remember how there better be a no boosters, no kickbacks, no-frills of any sort mode or else?

I think I've played the beta more than UC2 multiplayer. It's so awesome.

I read the old thread. Not all of it obviously, but a lot of it was good. People saying how it was addicting, etc.

Wario64 said:
So uh, can we discuss the multiplayer here? The other thread is just all about sharing.

I don't know about you guys but there's some insane recoil in this version. I only just started though so I'm pretty much playing naked. So far it seems pretty fun though

Yes, I've adjusted some, but it's going to take some more playtime. The Sniper Rifle might as well as be a catapult. I don't get why this isn't a one shot kill.

The AK seems too strong, the Micro is meh. Pistol and M9 seems good enough for moi.

Some people in the beta are on Joe's Interwebs, because I've been in matches with incredible inconsistency due to lag. Hell, there's at least one person on the Leaderboards that gets all their kills because they teleport like Kessler.

That said, still fun. It's not 1.04 U2, but it's growing on me and I want to get better (Lvl 18).

Know what's really awesome? How a game loads quickly from the matchmaking screen. No longer is there a pause between that and playing; they must be loading the map at the matchmaking screen. I do sort of miss the panning background of pictures and stuff from U2, but will happily make the trade for quicker-starting games.

Charge... Blindfire... Melee. So effective. I wonder how much longer till everyone starts abusing the speed.

I just wish there were more maps right now. Airstrip, Chateau and Yemen all feel old to me, and I actually don't love any of the other three. Syria's probably my favorite right now, but all of them lack the character and little details of an Airstrip and a Yemen.

How ND are into their second multiplayer game and it still take 5minutes to find a game is beyond me.

EDIT: What the hell is with the recoil?!

Why is everyone acting like the beta was all roses around here? Remember when people got the idea in their minds about the GMAL damage or something or the other and ran with it for pages upon pages about how ND ruined the game, until a ND guy himself came in here and confirmed they didn't even touch it? The beta thread here was a complete mess.

Anyway, this new version feels good. It's fast and smooth and the animations are incredible. I like the new AK sound and the gun feels the same as the beta's. Also the hit sound is still in so I don't know why people are claiming its removed, if it was it would be bad because I rely on it a lot for long distance fights.

Please stop complaining about the high amount of bullets it takes to kill people before playing it more. Uncharted isn't supposed to play like other 'realism' games where low HP and high damage equals short fights that equate to not much more than 'who sees who first'. In Uncharted it's about solid aim and evasion using the environment smartly to navigate. People complaining about this forced ND to patch UC2 and made the damage values far higher which ruined what a lot of people love about that game. So please give it a good chance and play for a while to get used to UC's style before clamoring for it to turn into every other game.

Yeah, there is some selective memory going on in here. The beta thread was a constant bitchfest, start to finish. I remember this one time after an update, a lot of the regulars were convinced ND lowered the health and made all the guns overpowered or something and how the game was now officially ruined. Then ND people came in said all they changed was some pistol balancing.

I could be wrong but it appears the same to me. Airstrip looks much, much better though. Lighting is not as harsh, colors are more natural. Chateau still looks great as ever. Graphics are great, just wish there was Gears 3-style motion blur. It appears to be absent.

Airfield level looks much better. I would say it looks better than the beta, but there is still a lot of aliasing. It doesn't look much better than uc2, and in general, the engine is showing it's age in spots. The desert village map looks stellar though.

Being Irish i read "mad" as being a good thing, i take it this is not the case?
I think the anti-aliasing is good in UC3. Yeah, you can see some jaggies if you look, but its not bad at all. Not once did I stop and say "damn jaggies".

BF3 beta (ps3), now that is a game that has aliasing issues.

Yeah, I think there is more recoil than the beta. I'm not sure if I like it or not though. I am playing worse than I did in the beta :/

Played it a few hours last night - I don't like it better than U2. There's just too much going on.

REALLY glad they got rid of the weird cinematics after matches that were in the beta. No more tieing up jokes :(

I thought that was only in objective-based games?

Damn the fact that no one is playing the game in hardcore is annoying, I hate having to play normal deathmatch filled with RPG! kickback users.

It looks like they messed with the pistol damage again, it went from useless to useful in the beta, to useless again.

All in all I'm still having fun, the core traversal Uncharted gameplay is still there, this game just needs a few adjustments, especially hitboxes.

Haha "why the fuck does everyone keep picking the airplane level, we played it in the beta" , some guy a couple matches ago.

:/ I never played the beta a couple months ago, that's why I'm glad it's always picked B^) , those guys mad.

I lovvvveeee the beginning part

I don't think it's a rosy view, what most posters are saying is that it feels so different that they have to relearn things.

We don't all suck that bad, there some stuff that needs adjusting.

Im going to keep playing and get better, but it is different.

Wow people complain in the beta thread abotu how the sprint was useless now its too useful?

It's GAF. I liked the slower pace more though. Because now my aim with the G-MAL is abysmal, I don't hit shit. :/

I had played the game for awhile (1.5 hours), and haven't noticed any kind of lag. Btw, I'm using a European PSN account.
