Uncharted 3: Subway's Deception Multiplayer Discussion [New Patch Released]

Had a great game of TDM on london railway there! Game went to overtime then sudden death, have to say, it really was gripping :D ND have done a fantastic job with that.

The speed is a bit weird. Takes a bit of getting used to and my KDR has taken a dive from the beta (I think it was a 2.5 and is now a 1.7), but I have only played a bit and I think once I get used to it I will be fine with it. My initial thoughts on this would be that the maps aren't quite as good as Uncharted 2's maps. I only played Syria once and it was too dark. Need to try it again with the brightness up. I love the Sandstorm rolling into that one map. It is a mess, but kind of fun and that map is pretty cool. Also, enjoyed the London one. But I guess I just don't love any of them like I did with some of the UC2 maps initially. Also, very happy to be able to use Elena again. Not using her in the beta felt wrong. I only tried TDM and Free for All.

Also, bumped into another person from GAF. I think the name was Lion... something... I forget. There was a z in there too. We were buddies for a handful of rounds. And I may have blown you up with my RPG once... haha. Sorry about that.

Just played a match on this crazy ass train. Not sure how to feel that that is sort of spoilers on whats to come. Damn it not sure. I want to keep playing.

They need to get rid of sprint altogether, I proffered how it was on U2 with no sprint. Also increase the damage of the guns slightly but not too much.

Or decrease the health, it's taking to long to get a kill.

I can't believe how bad I've gotten since the beta ended. I agree with the guy above, it does feel like killing people is taking longer. Grenades got weaker, I think. Also, the train part of that london map is the worst.

I might play a couple more hours, maybe 'til I get that subway shirt, but I'll hold off until the game comes out.

Guys for those who played the Beta in order to receive the things they said they would give (for example, play a game from each game mode, reach level 25, etc) can you delete the Beta from your PS3? But maybe not my game data?

I'll be around to see what people think about the MP.

Just keep the Save Data.

So the only people who really would have been playing this yesterday, or today even, are the hardcore Uncharted fans. People who knew about the poorly promoted event way in advance, searched for cups, secured codes, etc. Therefore, no one is "smokin' newbs" like they feel they should when playing Uncharted multi, because they're not playing with "newbs," they're playing with good players, some *GASP*... which are better than them! And that angerrrrs people.

I predict as more and more people come into the event, allowing for all you people who brag about going 34 - 2 to start feeling like Supermen again, the complaining will die down. At which point, Naughty Dog will address your original, haphazard complaints and then people will complain about that.

Played a couple matches. Seems like it takes a lot of shots to get someone down now. G-MAL especially.

But I'm having fun with it.

Lol @ me spending $75k for the fedora.

I'm laughing but now that I know thats in there I'm probably going to do the same.

So, there's no co-op in this?

Also, why are there so few skins and why is almost everything except the weapons unlocked with money and not treasure sets?

Full multiplayer my ass! (not really mad since it was free)

One of the tips while I was waiting to respawn just said that you can do an extra powerful melee while carrying the treasure. Awesome. I've had that idea for a while and I'm sure I posted it in the last beta thread so maybe someone at ND saw it or it's just a case of great minds thinking alike.

Maybe people have said this already but this feels different then the Beta. It feels like it's harder to aim. Also the movement felt different right off the bat. And the AK is not what it used to be.

These aren't complaints....yet. I just wanted to point it out.

Charge... Blindfire... Melee. So effective. I wonder how much longer till everyone starts abusing the speed.

yep, gunplay is irrelevant in this version of the multiplayer, just sprint + blindfire, you have 99% chance to go through the incoming bullets unscathed and melee kill the poor fool. What a disaster.

Man i can't tell when i am hitting someone or not .
The hit detection need some work or maybe i lagging .

God just now i play vs 5 20+ guys in some clan called RUN! and most of us were below lvl 10 WTF .

As someone who has been blindfiring since the the beta for Uncharted 2, I actually find it pretty useless now.

maybe its lag for players outside the US, definitely I've been unloading full clips at the head of guys just charging at me and killing me with a melee hit after a couple (so it seems in my screen) of blindfired shots, p2p and host advantage bs again.

Yep, it's been said. It's a complaint for me though.

Loving the aiming adjustments/whatever they did with the recoil.

I just played the desert level with the sandstorm... graphics are unreal for a MP game.

Wow people complain in the beta thread abotu how the sprint was useless now its too useful?
Because things aren't binary, and balancing is an inherently iterative process.
Note: I'm okay with the sprint.

Honestly, I'm not sure that's the case. In my first few matches I was slaughtered, then I got better. Unless all those pr0s suddenly stopped playing at the same time, I'd say it's more of a matter of getting used to the gameplay changes and shaking off some rust from the last few months.
Also, I'm not sure you need to be a hardcore fan to stumble upon a code in a fast food chain.
Lastly, first impressions should never be given too much weight. They will change over time (mine surely did during the beta).

It's harder, but definitely doable.

The only gripe I have is how auto aim was disabled but speed was increased. This is bad for g-mal users. On top of that the recoil was touched up a tad bit but which makes it even harder to aim. I was a fan of the slower paced beta. I still love the multi but this is gonna take some adjusting.

A major problem i'm finding with this game as to when it comes to close combat, it becomes a random pile of shit. Running and gunning is too strong. What happened to the knock back in UC2?

How spoiler filled does this seem? Just started downloading the beta but I'm still not sure if I should do this as I've been on full blackout beyond the 2 main trailers

Still remember playing the helicopter chase in UC2 for the first time and thinking how much cooler it would have been if I hadn't seen it all at E3

level 20. great game. I don't know what issues you guys are having but I'm having a riot with the game.

and I fucking hate idiots who play plunder but don't play plunder. We just lost the last match 4-3 and we were 3-3 all the way til the last minute but the idiots were all happier just shooting randoms instead of guarding the treasure.

grrr!

I think the game is balanced really well. I figured out how to throw the treasure :)

I'll add gaffer tomorrow if you guys are up for it.

Theres not really any spoilers aside from the locals

There are certainly some people playing who probably stumbled across the code. I'm saying that for these first few days especially we are far more likely to have an influx of diehard Uncharted fans. That makes sense, doesn't it? Even if you do stumble on a code, what are the chances you play games, play games online, have a PS3, and are going to jump through hoops to start playing that game day minus 1?

The train station is a fantastic map, the second part anyway, riding the trains in the beginning is pretty lame. Sandstorm isn't great, games on that map always turns into a clusterfuck.

Good to know. Is co-op mission mode in this? Was thinking I would just skip that if so as that's the only thing that shows you what actual portions of a level look like (at least it did in UC2)

Ok now that i've gotten more time on it, it's starting to grow on me. 90% of the time though I literally can't tell if my shots are connecting. I've got good control over the G-MAL now but after unlocking the M9 I don't think im going back to it. The AK-47 is still pretty hard to control so im just waiting until I unlock the Accuracy perk thing before I give it another go.

Just had my best game yet, top of the board, just popped up at the marked man, managed to barely escape death, then "you have been removed from the game."

Why? Is that a kick, a lag issue, what?
