Only played a couple of matches but this is some of the most unfun MP I've ever played. I really enjoyed UC2 but pretty much despised the beta. I actually feel like they still managed to make it worse somehow...I don't know if gears just spoiled me like the last beta, but the hit detection is horrible, the spawning is some of the worst I've seen and frequently spawns me right in front of people. The gunplay is being ruined by sprinting + melee.

I'm glad they atleast made sprinting useful now, but maaaaaaaaan. I'll try it out some more, but UC3 is getting downgraded to a rent at this rate.
 
Just did 5-0 plunder game, went 17-6, I captured the treasure 4 times. First time this multiplayer made me feel good. :P

edit: Oh and for that I got $12K, lol. Meh.
 
Starting to get the hang of the AK now. I can actually aim better now. Still the game is much more playable with the M9. Feels pretty nice outside of the stupid sprinting.

There's too much time in between the kills. On top of that, the video seems bugged - the game only registered 1 kill when you threw the grenade on the turret and the game didn't register the shotgun kill at 30 seconds. When I say "game registered", I mean your name killed xxx. EXPLAIN YOURSELF lol.

Tripled one was tight though.

Although I did end up getting a Connect Four yesterday in FFA Yemen. Ended up killing 9 or 10 people in the span of less than a minute or so.
Yes, I did it all using the Para/melee combo.

There's like a 6 second window or so to get another kill to chain it. It's not too hard if people are around and you can get a little lucky.

I thought it was no longer than 4... hmm, I knew the timer was more lenient than in UC2, but didn't think it was THAT lenient.

Was really shocked at that when I started playing the beta. Got two legit Five not alive medals in the beta pretty quick. In UC2 I got 2 as well but only because of the stupid rematch glitch.
 
Man, matches should NOT END IN A TIE. That's so not fun and kills any excitement.

Joined a Plunder game in progress, my team was down 3 - 0 and the opposing team was about 15 seconds away from scoring again. In Yemen, now we're down 4 - 0 with like 10 minutes left. Just getting wiped.

We fucking rally back, 4 -4 that motherfucker, and I'm literally 5 seconds away from scoring the winning capture, only for the game to say "TIE GAME LOL OH WELL!"

If we can't just have a "next capture wins," since there are probably games where that would go on for an hour, how about an extra minute, and then if nothing, "Sudden Death(match)" where you can either still get the last score, or last team standing wins. Even do a full player reveal so there is no camping.

But fuck, how do games still do this? It's not just Uncharted, it's all over the place. Ties blow. Ties are for shitty sports, like soccer, not Uncharted dammit.

The only reason I keep checking this thread is to see if ND has anything to say and if a patch is coming. Hopefully someone makes a new thread? Not sure I want to keep torturing myself. I really hope that even people doing well are complaining/posting constructive criticism. This is not the game I expected after the beta. I've yelled "this game.... WTF!?" too often while playing.

games had sprinting before cod got big brag.

plus I still don't see resemblance to cod at all except maybe the perks/boosters.
 
You know I find some things weird that they had previously fixed, like how the game often doesn't keep the same group together between rounds

Extinction is when you kill 5 consecutively I believe. The Five not alive is when you kill everyone on the opposing team at least once.

I was reading the ND forums and people have been giving a lot of decent feedback this time around. Sure there's the crazy ones, but most of them mention some of the stuff we've discussed in this thread. Here's to a future patch that -hopefully- fixes some of these issues. I want to love the MP, but right now there's too many things that prevent me from loving it.

Anyone else try the carpet bomb kickback? It sucks so much now. Instead of five grenades, it's three now and instead of the grenades splitting up when they landed on the ground, now they split up in different directions when you throw them in the air. And it costs 7 medals to boot. Not worth it in the slightest. The only good thing I can see from this is that it doesn't cause team killing, but the end result is a terrible kickback.
 
Man I am SOOOOO TIRED of the game not capturing the one damn match I want it to capture. It happened in the beta and it's happening now. Between the two it's been like 4 in a row "hey, I really want to watch that cool moment again... lemme just go into Cinema mode real... oh, it's not there... well maybe it will show up a little later..." *A LITTLE LATER, MEANING TWO HOURS LATER* "... MOTHER FUCKER."

The same reason they put in, oh, kickbacks, or the buddy system, or customization... they think it improves the experience.

"It worked fine without it." Maybe Naughty Dog thinks this works better. And guess what!? Like I said when it was announced AND during the beta — I did. I asked for it. Me. Yes, I wanted sprint. I wanted Drake to move around at my will like he does in single player when there are enemies around. I want to be able to do that in multiplayer and in the campaign. And two years ago while playing U2 I said "hey, what if I could just press this stick in and sprint? I'm not aiming, that would be great."

And yo, it's great. Enough whining about sprint, for pete's sake.
 
I do remember them saying that the slower movement was intentional and that the game was designed around it. hmm, well.

In a sense the grenade splitting up was kind of cool because you could throw it back while it was still in 1 grenade form and give them a taste of their own medicine. Unfortunately I never managed to get any multi-kills doing that in the beta. And now I can never see the grenade tiny throwback icon in time anyway. Also, you really missed sure foot when the carpet bombs were going off all over the place and you were stuck in the knocked down animation. It's odd that they brought back fleet foot but not that.

If you are looking for a major gameplay mechanics patch, I'm not so sure we are going to get one so soon, if at all. I don't think ND has ever called this a beta. The beta was back in July. For them, that was the time to make adjustments and whatnot. They have a month left till release. Anything that changes gameplay significantly is probably not going to happen at this point. The best that we can hope for is for small adjustments so that is has some semblance of the beta.

Trust me when I say I am right there with you. I hope Naughty Dog reads this thread and really takes into consideration everything that has been said. At this point though, I am spent. The icon on the XMB calls it a beta, and it's referred to as a beta in the online agreement.

wow hahaha, UC3 defense force already? man the mp as it is now is a turd, if you're carefully aiming down the sights and shooting an enemy's head / upper torso yet they just sprint towards you through your bullets and kill you with 2-3 "blind fired" shots and a melee hit... that is called bullshit and garbage, yeah, the mp game as it is now is pure garbage.

If you watch the trailer when kickbacks were first revealed that's how it was to begin with. I was pleasantly surprised it was changed for the beta, and loved using it and even having it used on me. It's fun, and like you said you could throw it back, which was awesome.

But no more. The one thing they nerfed was the one thing I didn't want them to nerf. And I still don't know if you can even throw back 'nades. I think I've seen that the icon notification has changed to just triangle appearing much smaller over the red grenade arrow itself, but I'm not sure.

And man, the boosters and kickbacks just aren't very fun now. They're so limited. I swear, ND held back on all the cool extra stuff to make it so no one was over-powered, but made blind firing, hip firing, running, melee all way stronger. What's the point? Make the fun, goofy shit that happens during 10% of the game the strong stuff.

The beta didn't record matches that you joined late, I presume it's the same problem here.

Watch a cinema file and record the section you want. In your cinema files this section should appear as an edited cinema, you can convert this to video and from there you have the option of saving it to the XMB or uploading to youtube.

If you finish reading my little essay and the other posts I've made since then, you'll see that I have a pretty big problem with the gameplay mechanics right now, mainly the soften/melee combo. It sucks, but it's effective, which is why I use it when appropriate. I'm just not nearly as upset as everyone else in here.

I agree that should not happen at all, but I wouldn't call it garbage. It just needs that stuff patched in. Speaking of needing patches. I can only play like one or two matches, sometimes not even that without the game freezing. I cant't join my friends either. Pressing triangle in this game= insta-freeze!

As much as everyone loved Jak (and Crash?) and the first Uncharted, U2 was clearly on a whole other level of awesome. Perhaps the best game this generation, and people were feeling that Naughty Dog had come into their own.

But... what if it was a fluke? When I thought of U3 in the past, I thought to myself "there's no way they can top the feeling U2 had when it came out, or even match it." I would be more than satisfied if U3 were to U2 what Majora's Mask was to Ocarina.

But what if it's more like U3:U2 :: Mario Sunshine:Mario 64?

I'm sure the single player will still be amazing. The tech is still amazing. They just don't seem to have a grip on competitive multiplayer.

RPG kickback is so goddamn stupid. No meaningful telegraph and no way to avoid it. You could be the best player in the world, but get into a fight with a guy holding that kickback and there's nothing you can do. It feels like the game is cheating me.

G-MAL is still awful on moving targets (pretty much all of them) and the AK still can't shoot straight.

Fleet Foot is fucking annoying. Hitboxes are small enough, so add in a fast strafe and 1v1 gunfights are hilariously awful to play.

Spawns are poor for the most part.

That is all.

It's not that blindfiring has been strengthened, it's that aiming is such complete garbage now that there's just no other choice to but rush down like a fucking retard and hope for the best. Now combine that with supersprinting and you get a game designed by goddamn numbskulls I swear to fucking god. This experience has been saddening, infuriating and disappointing. Only thing they haven't fucked up yet is the health, but you just wait.

I really have no faith in them MP wise, but I doubt they'll mess the SP up. Top 2? Maybe not, but enjoyable overall and better than 1 is all I want out of it.

The fact that they made huge changes to health a good ways in UC2 shows me that they don't really know what they're doing with this. UC3 already changed a lot from the beta to this, and even if they do big tweaks in the next month before the actual release that ends up on a base more people are happy with, time has already shown us that there's nothing stopping them from completely changing it again.

Yeah, this is one of the things that's annoyed me about kickbacks from the outset. In Uncharted 2 power weapons made it about knowledge and map control. I didn't have to run around with an RPG on my back while I used a pistol as my main but I would take it to deny it from the enemy team. Now at any point someone can pull out an RPG or grenades that explode on contact and there's nothing I can do about it.
