Uncharted 3: Subway's Deception Multiplayer Discussion [New Patch Released]

I think I'm just going to stick to TDM since that is what 80% of people are treating Team Objective as. Developers need to get to back to ranking systems that require winning in objective games. If you let people level up by just running around and shooting, that is all they are going to do.

Yeah, and remember how the AK47 was still overpowered by its blindfire? I'm glad they fixed the micro at the end, but the AK also needed fixing, but they didn't do anything about it.

Those details from that mod do sound like a glimmer of hope. Hopefully more details will come soon.

Anyone else getting PS3 freezes when you try to rewind a cinema file? I remember reading about a lot of PS3 freezes back when the beta was on, but I never had that problem until now. Also, how do you upload to YouTube? I press the record button, but after I stop recording, I don't see the option to upload to YouTube.

Well, they basically gave the middle finger to everyone that loved playing Uncharted 2 after the patch and let's not forget the lack of updates to fix glitches that were game breaking too.

that's the CoD curse that will change the way games are played for years, most people just cant grasp the basics of team-oriented game modes, or they just refuse to cooperate fearing it would affect their precious KDR, it happens in every online mp shooter released after CoD, specially Modern Warfare 2.

AK blindfire autoaim has been reduced significantly from the beta.

The sprinting could easily be fixed if it only worked for a shorter distance, had a cooldown, and still kept you in that tunnel vision where you can't easily control side to side (like how Gears does it, or like in the beta).
 
So how do you get the Subway items in-game? I live in Sweden and they aren't running the promotion here, but how do you get them in the US?
 
felt a little shafted by Subway today. The promo signs say "30oz soda" (ps: jesus christ), OR harvest cheddar sunchips. But Sunchips only get you items. Only the soda gets you into multiplayer.
 
Sorry I don't have a decent camera or capture equipment but my background in the multiplayer screen is what looks like a
burnt Flooded Ruins. The ground is all charred and burning.

ND does use some terms weirdly. In the beta the Come Here booster said that you can see the enemy on your radar and the "stopping power" bit of the heavy bullets description made a lot of people confuse it with the stopping power perk from COD that adds extra damage.

as far as I know; clothing items can be unlocked by treasure collection - I have them all now. Hat+shirt. There's also a Nathan Drake subway outfit which you'll need a code for. That and the Nathan Drake AK97.

Yeah, mine just froze while I was rewinding too. Once you've recorded the section you want go back to your cinema files and it should be there as an edited file. Select it and convert it to video then choose to upload it to youtube.
 
I have to say that my favorite maps by far are Yemen and Airstrip. Chateau is clusterfucky and I haven't got a feeling for the other three yet.

After you record something you have to back out, and at the top of your match list will be a game with Edited on it. You then need to convert that to video, which will be uploaded on youtube.

I keep getting a black screen when I try to rewind, I need to exit completely instead.
 
I'm STILL downloading after starting the DL last night. How you guys are getting through the hammered servers is beyond me.

So has anyone actually won anything besides the multiplayer stuff? Like the Subway gift card, or a retail copy of Uncharted 3? I've gotten about 6 codes now, and haven't won anything yet. :(

Mine too. Btw, you can upload the video to the xmb (but at the same quality :/)
 
Sprinting I don't think is as much an issue as the hipfire/lack of some aim assist. I like that there's more manoeuvrability than in the beta but I wouldn't mind having the speed reduced. The real frustrations for me come from when I think I should be hitting guys but they just hipfire their way out of death.

Someone on another forum I'm on won a copy of the game on the first day.

this is all but confirmation that the game will play like this for weeks / months after launch until they decide to patch it (if they agree it needs fixing, that is, they might test it and think the game is right as it's now, same shit as UC2 1.05). They're not risking breaking the game code when the game is already gold or about to go gold now, last-minute bug fixes then discs manufacturing and duplication coupled with shipping and delivering to retail chains will eat the remaining time until launch day.

Killzone 3 all over again.

I honestly can't believe they didn't see this coming. Didn't they test their own MP and find that this would happen? It's SO DAMN EFFECTIVE to sprint and blind-fire that I'm literally in shock they didn't know what it was going to do to their game.
 
Love the mechanics of the beta, but it takes way too many shots to kill someone. Half the time, head shots don't even register, or do any more damage vs body shots. UC2 level of health was perfect IMO.

Yeah, this was what I was thinking too. I'm not even sure they'd be able to completely overhall the multiplayer component. Based off of fan reaction, it would be really, really extensive.

No, no, no. It doesn't really take a lot of bullets to kill anyone. It's just that the recoil of the weapons makes it seem like it takes a lot of them to take someone down when in reality, it doesn't. It also doesn't help that the hit detection from the beta is gone and now that sprint is too fast, it makes it easier to dodge bullets. Health is fine.

yep, they had a vision for the multiplayer, it was brilliant with some minor flaws, it was called UC3 beta back in July. But something happened within ND headquarters and they pulled a 180º, game is nothing like the summer beta now and we just had confirmation that it will play like this for at least months until it gets patched if it ever gets patched in the first place.

Sony pressure? CoD pressure? mp designers being on crack? we don't know, what we know and we have confirmation is that multiplayer will be broken and boring and chaotic and silly for no reason as no one asked for these changes... or did they? I thought almost everyone agreed summer beta was nearly perfect?

edit: now I'm contemplating just renting the game for singleplayer & some coop or buying when it hits 17,99
 
I literally can't bear to play this play this as it is now. I loved the summer beta but I have never seen such ridiculousness in a shooter ever. I unload a full clip into dudes then they turn around and kill me like it's nothing! Bullets hit like feathers and accuracy might as well be a thing of the past.

get used to it, as they won't touch anything until months to come... or maybe never. They are wasting a masterpiece of an engine on a completely shitty and broken multiplayer game.

One thing I dont understand. You had the beta. You got feedback. A majority of people said they were fine with recoil and in general, the mechanics.

You release a new beta. Everything has changed.

Why?

You talk about changing one system, and it affecting the others and having to take careful consideration.

So why was....

-recoil for the ak-47 changed
-recoil for the g-mal changed
-recoil for the para changed
-sprint made extremely effective
-slowdown when shot removed
-game speed increased

Thats a lot of shit to change, don't you think?

Yup, it was a certain wall but sniper rounds were coming through it. Not sure if it was designed that way or not.

Some else I noticed today. Plunder on Desert Village is really broken. The treasure can spawn where the HMG does in TDM, which is literally one throw away from the capture point for the team that spawns at the lower end of the map.

You want to blindfire/melee? This is your gun. The rate of fire on it is INSANE. I was doing so good on it, some of the times, I didn't even bother meleeing. The gun would just rip through them like cheese.

This is without the mods. ROF or blindfire mod on this thing?

I was messing around with exporting clips to the XMB and using the PS3's video editor to combine them together so I made a little fail montage of me trying and failing to kill this one guy.
I snipe him and he gets hit by my team-mate's grenade then I pump him full of pistol bullets. He doesn't die.
I throw back a grenade at him and snipe him. He doesn't die.
I empty a clip of pistol bullets firing at him and chase him. I die.

I do manage to get my first grenade throwback kill against someone else. I'm getting the hang of it but I still prefer when the triangle prompt was more visible.

yup, it's insane.

It sucks at aiming because of the recoil so like I'd say maybe 4% of people who use that gun actually try and aim with it.

one thing on that video that stuck out to me was when he got with a grenade and you hit the guy with the sniper, but he didn't die. IMO, that should have been a death.

Now I've got what looks like
Highrise in the evening time.
 
Also a couple of minor UI things:

-When choosing guns in the loadouts, the mods don't save so you have to go back in and re-equip them
-You can't see in the scoreboard who is talking and therefore who to mute.
