Did the first beta have auto aim? I forgot if it did.
I know the T-Bolt had insane auto aim in the Beta, where you just had to press L1 and fire and you had a garanteed hit when your aim dot was near the player. Moving targets where a bit harder, but there was definitely auto-aim.

I was messing around with exporting clips to the XMB and using the PS3's video editor to combine them together so I made a little fail montage of me trying and failing to kill this one guy.
I snipe him and he gets hit by my team-mate's grenade then I pump him full of pistol bullets. He doesn't die.
I throw back a grenade at him and snipe him. He doesn't die.
I empty a clip of pistol bullets firing at him and chase him. I die.

I do manage to get my first grenade throwback kill against someone else. I'm getting the hang of it but I still prefer when the triangle prompt was more visible.

Wow. Pretty much some of my experiences.

That's sad as hell. You can even hear the audio cues confirming the guy is being hit but just won't go down.

I've had plenty of experiences in this game like that and I have to say, it's caused me to rage quit.

Will picture export be in the final release? It wasn't in the beta, which I assumed to be because the graphics weren't finalized, yet it's missing here as well.

this is all but confirmation that the game will play like this for weeks / months after launch until they decide to patch it (if they agree it needs fixing, that is, they might test it and think the game is right as it's now, same shit as UC2 1.05). They're not risking breaking the game code when the game is already gold or about to go gold now, last-minute bug fixes then discs manufacturing and duplication coupled with shipping and delivering to retail chains will eat the remaining time until launch day.

Killzone 3 all over again.

That all means nothing for the MP part of it since the game can go gold yet still work on a patch. The game is gold for about 2-3 weeks before it hit store shelves. That time can be spent making a MP patch. Single player is done/done but multiplayer can keep changing up till the second it launches with a patch.

I don't understand though why Resistance has dedicated servers but this has none, should solve a lot of problems

Insomniac probably pays for the servers themselves, Sony must not care enough to do that for UC3. I dunno.

That would help with lag but not with game design choices. I mean right now lag is the least of the game's problems.

I think I'm just going to stick to TDM since that is what 80% of people are treating Team Objective as. Developers need to get to back to ranking systems that require winning in objective games. If you let people level up by just running around and shooting, that is all they are going to do.

uncharted 2. plunder. don't do anything. shoot people for 20 minutes. But that's not a reflection on the game but on the mindset of the gamers.

I gotta say: I have not encounter this much ridiculousness in the subway MP game. I've actually played a lot of team objective and plunder games where we both teams are playing the objective games - only had maybe 4-6 games out of 100s where I was like wtf are the clowns doing? ( and you can tell because when you die, you cam trail them and they're running around hiding somewhere or not running anywhere near to the objectives)

yeah, this. I mute all but but my friends. sometimes when the chatter isn't too bad, I let it run.

a) hard to tell whether or not you're sniper shots are hitting home. They look like they're missing as the circle doesn't even have him centered or close to centering when you shot.

b) from his POV, the 2nd bit of the video - it shows that he managed to dodge a grenade and then he AIMed and shot you to death with his longgun (which disproves a lot of the "you can't shoot someone to death from midrange complaints")

the ledge pull down was quite amusing.

there's still some core problems like... plunder map layout. Is it sooo hard to make it 2 rounds ND? Because metro is the most imba map i've ever seen. Ok, one team deposits after a wall, the other in a totally open zone with 4 open passages. Makes sense.

Heh that's nothing! Non-americans get completely assfucked when it comes to lag in Uncharted 2&3. I personally have learned to deal with it. In UC2/previousUC3beta when I shoot someone most of the time I guess when to stop, so I don't waste bullets and time. Enemies appear dead on my screen 1 second after I've actually killed them.

I always melee before I die because it apparently hits 10 feet in front of me and manages to somehow trade a second after I've been killed. Pretty amazing fists.

snagged 3 codes today, got the multi-player from the drink, grabbed the premium theme and the gun unlock, need to get 3 more codes so I can grab the rest.

To be clear, I wasn't using the video to complain about the game. It was just meant to be sort of funny as this guy keeps escaping me under strange circumstances. I did kill him with little trouble at other points in the match, he also had an uncanny ability to stealth kill me while I was fighting someone else.

a) Shots always look a little off in cinema mode. In the first cut I do hit him once, I saw the hitmarker and you can see the blood splatter in cinema mode. I think he had regeneration on which is why he recovered enough health to take the grenade and my pistol shots. In the third part you can see the blood splatter from me hitting him when he's knocked down but he could have had 1HP left after that for all I know.

I thought the end was pretty funny too. Maybe I should have put a fail trumpet sound effect over it.

Anyone else using the cross battle adapter? I am having a very annoying issue. When walking my character wants to kneel constantly. If I run it is fine but walking is very annoying.

Everything else seems to be working well. This is the first game I have noticed this on.

I participated a little bit in the early bitching but...

After more time with the game, I'm not ashamed to say that this is easily the most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer game. I find myself smiling from ear to ear or just bursting out laughing more than I ever did with a game. I honestly feel bad for any ND staff who read this thread.

The hip firing + melee while running around in circles is only annoying in death-matches. In Team Objective and Plunder it's just part of the core gameplay and it's fun as fuck. It's just the way it's meant to be played, it works and it's fun. Team Objective/Plunder is where it's at, people. I don't even bother with TDM anymore.

It would be nice if the hip firing/sprint speed was nerfed only in TDM (to encourage aiming and mid-range gunplay rather than close range hipfire bumrushing) and kept the same in all the other modes. But I'm totally fine with just stricyly sticking to Objective and Plunder and I know I will probably sink months into it when the game releases. Fun. as. fuck.

Anyone else trying the Missions (betting) once you get to level 15? Does the timer only count the in-match time or all time from when you activate a mission?

what are you talking about

You can bet $3K on whether you'll pass a mission or not. If you win then you get $9K. You can complete each mission only once as far as I can see. Some of them include getting 18 kills in 30 minutes or 12 kills with a certain gun in 30 minutes and so on.

sara_is_anxious said:
running in circles blindfiring is now the most fun ever and the way the game is meant to be played?

In Team Objective and Plunder, yes.

Combat is secondary to the objectives. When combat does happen, it's usually in very close quarters and very fast paced, so you run around and hipfire/melee/toss grenades. It's meant to be chaotic, that's the style of the game.

You could say the exact same thing about a game like Gears of War "rolling around in circles and trying to beat your opponent to the punch with shotgun blasts is fun?.... well you have low standards"

Have you even bothered with any of the modes besides TDM?

huh didn't notice this at all

I don't know if there's a limit for exporting videos but I was able to convert a whole match (9:40) then use the video editor to put it on youtube. I notice that if I do it that way videos can be viewed in 480p whereas the clips uploaded from within Uncharted 3 are only 360p.

Anyway, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PMt7iCCs3o
It's a Team objective match on Airstrip. My team wins every round, except deathmatch where we draw, and I go 20-9. I think I start doing pretty good from deathmatch onwards but the game didn't give me any Double downs or Triples when I'm sure I should have gotten them.

I put on the win 2 TDM Bet, then immediately got paired up with a terrible terrible team... twice! In two games I was the only person who had a + k/d ratio. So I lost that bet. Haha.

Yea, they gotta fix the mission timer. Doesn't make sense that it's keeping time between matches at all.

You can only do 1 mission at a time, and you can switch missions anytime you want in the menu.

Why do you use the sniper in such close quarters combat, and scope to boot? You were getting absolutely smoked in the early parts. Why not switch to the M9 or even AK, that would have served you much better.

I'm not even sure why they put ADS in this game since all everyone does is blindfire.

-_-

I'm still on a quest to go positive in a TDM game, closest I've gotten is 7/9 :/

Played it this afternoon. It's okay, it just seems completely off.

The run/gun complaints and the iron fist melee complaints have already been covered extensively, what I noticed was just how busy the whole thing was- nothing like the Uncharted 2 MP at all. There's sound effects for boosters, medals, kickbacks, powerplays, respawns and a voiceover to boot. Visually, there's icons all over the HUD. Everything's too damn noisy.

The maps seem okay, but in it's present state it's not going to be the 100 hour time sink that the U2 MP was for me, that's for sure.

I got bored of the G-MAL and the AK in the beta and switched to the sniper for the extra challenge. I did alright with it and I've been trying to get good again since this started. I don't particularly like any of the other primaries apart from the G-MAL.

*sigh*
I hate when people think they're really good when all they use in a match is power weapons..
a guy just went 17-4, solely because of the fact that he used that sniper that one-shot kills.. and if he wasn't using that, he was using a rocket launcher.
Next match we played, it was at Underground London, so he didn't use many power weapons. This time around, he got 10-14 :lol

Gotta use what you have available. I frequently check power weapon spots if I spawn near them or am just running by - that's why they're there. That's how the game works - you think I'm going to leave a rocket launcher there when it's pretty much a guaranteed kill for me? No way.

Played for about an hour this morning on team objective (awesome mode). Was pleasantly surprised, given the mood of this thread. Most of the issues seem to be overstated to me. Then again, I'm not really any good.

What booster allows you to equip two mods on a gun?

It's not available in the Subway demo, it was in the previous beta though. It may have been removed entirely, we don't know.
