What the fuck. Seriously all you've done is rag on this game. Stop fucking playing and leave this thread. Its ok to have an opinion, but its another thing to just beat it like a dead horse.MoonsaultSlayer said:The worst game I've ever experienced.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I'm not even sure if it's a bug or not. Any decent amount of playtime would tell you that it's annoying and a bad design decision but ND haven't acknowledged it as a bug as far as I can tell. Another odd change is that there's no That was Embarrassing medal anymore and I'm certain it was in the beta. Or am I just imagining that?Rewrite said:Why the fuck is it that when you drop the idol in Plunder or Treasure Hunter, you're automatically equipped with your pistol? Making large feedback posts can be such a waste of time, but I'm so passionate about this MP that I want it to be awesome. It's also pretty cool when you see some of your suggestions make it in game.I never got round to making any large feedback posts for the beta and I doubt I will now so I'll just have to hope somebody's seen the points I have made.

Hate that shit too. Why make the sniper different from the other guns? I mean you are already scoped in as it is...electroshockwave said:And what's the deal with throwing grenades when you aim with the sniper?
Yes. These:DigiMish said:The ones on the sides leading from the center - yea - those are pretty annoying.

And does anyone have a The Long Ranger medal? I don't think anyone on the ND forums have one. That shit is so broken. I've given up trying to get one.

So fucking awesome, man! You feel like such a badass when this happens. I haven't used cloaked and I don't intend to, but it's nice to know that it helps to get stealthy kills. I personally don't have a problem trying to get stealth kills, but I know a lot of people do.Agent X said:I actually got three marked men in a single round!

lmfao
+++++++++++++A lot of the booster levelling is broken because ND decided to go with medals instead of a simpler system. In Modern Warfare 2 (this will be one of the few times I use that series as a positive example) getting the Pro perks is fairly simple and naturally falls in with the style of play you have when you use the perk: get x amount of kills with stopping power, destroy x amount of enemy killstreaks with cold-blooded, resupply your ammo x amount of times with scavenger. But a lot of the medals in UC3 don't really match up with the booster. Scoped in helps me in mid-range fights when I'm being fired upon and need to retaliate quickly not when I'm camped out 70+ metres away from the enemy on the other side of the map.
And the other part of it is that all of the kills you get with stopping power, for example, count towards your overall goal of getting the Pro perk. But the way medals work is that you have to get a certain amount (sometimes of a certain type) of kills within a match. You can play a 100 matches where you kill two enemies from over 70m away but they contribute nothing to getting the level 2 booster because you don't get the Long Ranger medal. You can have a 100 matches where you get 2 stealth kills but they count for nothing because you don't get the assassin medal for getting 3. It reminds me of annoying stuff like the air support ribbons in Killzone 2 as you had to get a certain amount of kills per match with the airbots. When people complained about the difficulty in getting the ribbons GG buffed the airbots and made them incredibly annoying.

Yes. These:

It NEVER works until your second attempt because your first attempt has your character do the jump animation like when he jumps from a high place. I never had any of these problems with UC2, but in UC3 (this version and in the beta) stuff like this happens when it shouldn't!

Honestly, ND deserves to be ripped up a little because all of their decisions regarding this MP have been pretty much poor. Like I said earlier, it would be nice to have a bit of discourse with Arne in this thread to understand why they made all these changes. It blows my mind that they think this game can compete with the heavy hitters this fall in its current state.Loudninja said:.....

I doubt we're the target audience. It seems obvious that those who are enjoying themselves are the demographic they're going for rather than fans of Uncharted-like gameplay in mp.Lingitiz said:Honestly, ND deserves to be ripped up a little because all of their decisions regarding this MP have been pretty much poor. There is a ton of potential here and we all know it from the beta, the only question is if ND can get it together in time for launch. Right now, i'm not sure.

It definitely feels like this is the case. Its a classic combination of strict developer vision and catering to the casual crowd. It destroyed games like Gears 2 and its could do the same here.MoonsaultSlayer said:I doubt we're the target audience. Yeah it really is unfortunate that developers can't recognize it. Despite the marketing for BF3, the MP does at least offer something different instead of working off very derivative mechanics (not the platforming elements but the perks, killstreaks, etc.).RyanardoDaVinci said:There was never anything they could have done to make it compete.
The COD crowd will only play COD, you might lose 5% of them to all the other MP games out this fall combined.
The next COD-like phenomenon will play nothing like COD, all devs need to understand that.
Did COD play like Halo?

Anyway, they need to fix the level reset bug before Monday. I want to play the new maps!

Games like Gears and Halo didn't blow up because they played "Me Too!", but because they offer something much different that brings in a crowd that will stay with the MP through thick and thin.

Exactly! This is why it's so frustrating to me! Naughty Dog had an amazing fun game by the time the beta ended thanks to all of the feedback. They just had to fix a few things like the ridiculous AK47 blindfire and other stuff to make it perfect to me. Fast forward to today and this version of the MP feels so different. And for what reason? I don't understand. I HOPE that this version has a big turnover just like the beta did - you know, with the fixes ND made that were really good that improved the MP experience. *crossing fingers*Pranay_ said:The Beta at the start recieved a lot of complaints as well, but in end the beta was fantastic after the fixing.
Let's single out a single post out of the many I've made because that'll help make my argument better!Loudninja said:So how did that post add anything to the topic?Does it help ND in anyway?
I don't see how they are any more or less MP focused than UC is. Both series have campaigns that the developer works hard on. Hell, Halo 2 is the one that became famous for it's multiplayer rather than Halo 1. Uncharted is renown as having good campaigns, but it's been heavily focused on MP since 2, as much as Halo or Gears have been.Pranay_ said:The Difference is , They are heavily Focused MP Games.
The difference with the original beta is that I felt like the basic feel of the game was great when it first launched, despite a few major tweaks. I felt that at the end of that beta the game was where it needed to be. I'm not seeing that at all here, it all just feels so unsatisfying. We know that UC multi can be good, UC2 and the beta did it earlier.Pranay_ said:The Difference is , They are heavily Focused MP Games.
Like it or not, Their are still many people who dont even care about the mp component in uncharted or just take it casually.
Anyways They have plenty of time to fix the game. The Retail isnt even out yet.

Fucking great post, this is pretty much the perfect example out there.Papercuts said:I disagree, UC is now a heavily focused MP game, becuase ND deemed it so. Gears and Halo still have stellar campaigns, just like UC. You buy them and plan to play them for a long period of time, and that's something they wanted UC to become.
It just makes no sense that after a lot of fixing THIS is what we got. Huge gameplay changes nobody asked for, and given their history with UC2 and now this, there's nothing to say the game being good on launch means they won't fuck it in the future.
I've always thought MP games need to be created on a developers vision; very often something ends up being over/underpowered and it must be carefully tweaked to not mess it up. Gears is a prime example of this over the trilogy. Epic didn't seem to like how shotgun focused Gears 1 was, and 2 had major changes to make it more what they wanted. However, this ended up pissing off nearly the entire fanbase, and on top of all the netcode issues we had a much slower game that they TRIED to patch like hell. I think there's SIX title updates, and we now have Gears 2 with a fucking ridiculously amazingly good shotgun dominating the playfield again, the entire game was a mess after each patch with them trying to scrounge something up. It frequently had major changes that confused players, messed with all kinds of values, and basically was never able to be BALANCED. The game was never designed with the changes in mind, so it was a lost cause.
With Gears 3 they basically nailed their vision with the playerbase. The shotgun is still great, but all the rifles are too. There's a lot of talk about the sawn off(which is damn near the entire Gears 3 OT now, lol) but I've literally seen every single weapon in this game get called overpowered. They're all viable now, which is a great thing.
With UC2 they translated the traversal gameplay into various modes, all of them worked well. It made the MP stand out against other games, and I had a ton of fun with it. Then they changed health values. The game was NOT DESIGNED FOR THIS. The game was fucked from this point. They still patched it some more, but it was pointless. Plunder was especially ruined.
Now we have UC3. I don't even know how to describe it. They want it to be the PS3's go to multiplayer game, but I can't really tell what their "vision" for it has been at all. There's SO many subsystems at work with power plays, kickbacks, the buddy system, load outs, perks, on map pickups, it's all a clusterfuck. On top of that we have giant changes already being made. It made sense with a beta back a few months ago, but NOW the game is literally less than a month off and it's in an awful state. Even if they do the big changes the game needs, I don't feel comfortable saying the maps will play well around it. I hope the shit I'm saying here makes sense to read because I'm not really sure how else to articulate it.
The speed is about the same as the beta now. Its much slower than it was at the start of the Subway demojett said:People need to stop with the COD comparisons. The beta didn't play anything like COD, and the current build doesn't either.
I played a few hours today, it's still really messy. I'm not sure what their "tuning" for the G-MAL did. It feels like it did nothing to me. I just wish it played exactly like the beta, and then go from there to adjust weapon properties, balance crap and fix shit. You can't fix this. The current rushdown-blindfire-melee clusterfuck is never going to end unless the game speed is dialed back to reasonable levels. Like ND themselves stated, there's actually less auto-aim on blindfiring in the subway demo compared to the beta, but it doesn't really matter. It's the speed that's fucking everything up.
