Also, FUCK MY BRAIN. Urgghhh. It still doesn't realize that I can throw back grenades. Whenever I see a grenade, it goes into "OMGFUCK ROLL AWAY NAO!!1" mode which works only about 60% of the time. There have countless times where throwing back the grenade was possible. But nooooooo. I can't do that. I have to jump/roll away.
Lol, yeah. I suffer from the same mental conditioning. Last night I managed to throw back my first grenade, though. Unfortunately, I threw it against a wall and still died because of it.

Maybe being a low level isn't such a death sentence after all. I'm playing with an alt account until they patch the level reset issues, and I'm not doing bad at all. I guess map advantage still plays an important part in this game.

Just now, only using a loadout with the AK-47 with no mods or worthwhile boosters, I had a ridiculous 19-1 score in Team Deathmatch against higher leveled players (including a level 35. I was level 7). I was so proud of myself I saved the match :P

I didn't even use hipfire (because I only had the pistol unlocked :P).

Glad to see that map and weapon location knowledge still plays a large part in being good at the game. It took going back to a beginner's account for me to realize that.

Is throwing back a grenade actually a legit option now? In the summer beta, the window to press the button was so small it was basically a worthless feature.

I've done it multiple times and can't recommend it enough. It's also an excellent tactic for protecting your hill.

I did manage to get my shit together one time and throw it back, which saved me from a death. But yeah, most of the time I roll away, then realise what I've done and mash triangle while walking back towards it. It doesn't end well.

I figured there were only 3, cause I have only seen 3. I wonder if its possible to go past 3 though.

Thankfully I've managed to brain train myself into actually going towards the grenades, lolz. Now if only ND prioritized grenade pickups over weapon pickups...

Every single shooter should have the ability to throw back grenades. Every one.

It's almost always a better option than trying to roll/jump out of the way now if you're close enough. Even if it's not for a kill (which freaking hilarious btw, just got another last night), it's usually safer. Like Jett, I walk towards grenades for a throwback if they aren't that far from me. You're given a bigger radius for it to work compared to the first beta.

The only times when it's worse is when:
-you can't reposition the camera quick enough to throw it away from a wall close to you or away from a group of your teammates
-there is too much shit on the ground for you to easily hit triangle and throw the grenade back without grabbing a different gun instead.

I've also learned that while you can throw back nades when holding the treasure, you will drop the treasure when doing so. Also, you can't throw back friendly nades.

What I still need to figure out of is if you can throw back a thrown back grenade.

Highrise in UC2 is much better. In this one, your characters will sometimes not grab the ledges and fall to their death where in UC2, your character would grab on.

I have to echo this sentiment, please ND. Both the train portion and this really need auto ledge grab - cause I'm falling at all the inappropriate moments.

Anyone else having trouble downloading 1.01? When i get the prompt to update and i acccept, the PS3 beeps and restarts.

EDIT: Switched to my US account and it worked!

I've had this happen with other game updates so if anyone is having problems, try waiting 20-30 seconds before clicking 'ok' to download. I have no explanation why, but its worked for me.

Works well enough.

I killed someone with their own grenade last night lol.

So I just saw the "don't fucking aim" video. Is that really what multiplayer has boiled down to, or is it a different story now?

no wonder I suck at this game. aiming gets you killed.

i have a code for the multiplayer who needs it

ME! ME! ME!
PM me please

Where's that guide that was posted a lot in this thread or the earlier one regarding using some sort of fake account for some purpose?

And Mr. Benjiman, we met again! Ha!

Haha, Indeed! Even though my team lost those were some fun games. Is so good to play when both teams go for the objectives.

Ive gotten a lot better at throwing back grenades now, I was so hyped about that last night that it upset the guys throwing them at me. I got a lot of "You want a cookie?" I think they were just pissed because I completely nullified their "Im about to die, better chuck a grenade tatic"

I don't know what you guys are talking about. It already auto grabs the edge. You have to hold O to not grab the edge.

If you are talking about being on top of the train and trying to fall to the side and grab the window ledge DON'T. It's not impossible but the train moves so fast and if you try to walk off/roll off the ledge to grab the window most likely you will end up just a hair to far to grab the ledge. Not worth the risk. Kinda like jumping to the next moving car in Airplane section when it's not all the way next to you.

I'll grab footage so you can see what we're talking about.

I've had this problem where I roll and throw a grenade, but my grenade doesn't explode. It uses my grenade slot, but there is no explosion. :(

It really is!

The grenade not exploding has happened to me a couple of times, but not with rolling just throwing. Like I throw it and I see it fly across and land just no explosion.

One more question for the people who are still playing, is it easier to get the Long Ranger medals on the new levels. I would imagine no on flooded ruins but what about on Highrise?

For those of us holding out because of fear of level reset, it should be okay to go back to playing again:

Still have not had a report of a level reset after the patch. Not calling it 100% fixed yet, but it's looking good so far.

To clarify for everyone why we've been cautious in declaring this issue officially fixed- there were two separate issues going here. One is the loss of progress being saved. Two is the ranks being reset.

We definitely fixed the first one, but did not intentionally fix the second issue. However, we have strong suspicions that the issues are related and thus have been waiting to see if the first fix fixed the second issue. In working terms, we call this 'a bug of a bug' which are always some of the most difficult to solve because you can't get to Point B without going through Point A.

Sometimes you can fix Point A and it will fix B, as we're hoping it did in this case. Sometimes, it doesn't fix B and you need to try something else.

Yes, I know this is very confusing, but this is the easiest explanation I could come up with without going into technical terms that are way more confusing. Hey, at least I tried! :)

I think I'm going to risk it.

I guess I've gotten better, or something has changed, because I was doing a lot better while playing on my buddy's account (taking turns on his little TV) last night. He is higher level than me, too.

I tried playing online after downloading the patch. I was lvl 29 and leveled up to 30 after one match. After that point I started experiencing a bit of lag and some bizarre glitches that I had never seen before. Like there were times when my player seemed surrounded by this weird bubble and had a small yellow icon over her head. During that time I couldn't see other players' names but I could still die. Then I had a treasure spawn in a chest but I couldn't pick it up no matter how many times I tried. Sometimes I had to press L2 multiple times in order to reload.

I got scared thinking the reset bug was about to hit me so I just quit using the PS button.

Ahaha, that's just the effects from the Disruption kickback! You were near someone who used it ;)

Maybe ND reset the K/D ratio for Plunder and Objective and it kinda screwed up you stats?

Yes, it did, but I noticed that right away. So it's not related. I'm just playing a lot better. Don't ask me why. Before the patch I got destroyed sometimes. Like 7 to 25 or something like that.

I miss the God-Mal.

For me personally at this point, return of the God-Mal + AK rate of fire upgrade is all this game needs to return to summer beta-level greatness.

Dedicated servers is all it needs to ascend to uber-greatness.

Ok I realize I'm either very horrible in this game (probably) or am always put in the the team of ppl who think they are Rambo

So if anybody would like to party up with (or wouldn't mind a noob to tag along), feel free to add me, I should be only nightly (East Coast Time)until I hit lvl 35

PSN: Bulletsmoke (Just mention GAF in the message so I know where you came from)

The competition feels a lot tougher in plunder and team objectives. Tons of groups and clans. Lots of shit-talkers too. Team DM, on the other hand, seems easy as hell in comparison.

I think all of us who are in favor of the return of the GOD MAL should unite and launch a co-ordinated e-attack on the Naughty Dog forums, or the twitter accounts of the mp game designers or whatever by flooding it with requests/demands for bringing it back. Strength in numbers until our demands are met, lol.

Oh god...what do I do now? I'm still going to wait it out a little longer, I guess.
