Can't wait! With Mario Kart in May and Project CARS in October (?), hopefully this and Fast Racing NEO fall right in the middle.
I guess advertising works!
We're planning on it, but each platform is different as far as what it can do. At least 2P local on Wii U is ideal given that one player can use the pad and another can use the tv.
We don't know yet. I'd rather release an amazing local multiplayer experience THEN follow it up post-release with a free update.
I know it's not ideal to players, but, to me, I'd rather have more people playing first then doing it then having everyone wait for an online component.
What I love about this lineup is it covers all the major types of racing games without any overlap -- you have your futuristic racer, arcade racer, kart racer, and racing sim. Hopefully they're all as good as I expect them to be.
Tyrone, one more question. Is it going to support gyroscope steering with the Gamepad?
Wow this looks pretty good. Is this a retail title or eShop only? This and Project Cars, if it makes it out this year, I hope will make for some fun racing titles to play on Wii U this year.

Will there be a bundle price for multiple platforms? I don't mind paying extra if that means I get to have multiple platforms to play it on.I have no idea Unity's current state on XO. Given that it may not be available for months or even into 2015, we have no intention of holding it for a simultaneous release. However, that doesn't mean we won't try to get it on other platforms after we release the PC and Wii U versions.
Probably at least as an options. I'm all about giving game options when possible. The gamepad is the right size to feel like a steering wheel, but we haven't tested how well it works as one.

The Wii U is actually perfectly capable of doing 1080p, but we wanted to give that up so we can add more visual effects and polish. With AA, running at 720p/60fps the visual fidelity is negligible given that we can add more effects.
Definitely will support through Steam.
We'll balance each platform to work properly, there's unfortunately no other way around it. I say unfortunately because it's more work for us but worth it
It may support controllers for phones/mobile devices, but we're very FAR off from getting to that point. Order of importance is PC/Wii U/Other consoles/mobile.
Can't give you too much info on the handling other than we're trying to make it very accessible, but not stupidly easy. We want it to feel like a (good) modern day arcade game.

This is basically the same reasoning as Shin'en when they made Nano Assault.
Maybe I don't belong at GAF as I think this is generally acceptable.
I can see 60 FPS vs. 30, no question, but 720 vs. 1080 is much less noticeable to me.
It'd be after an NA release. We'd like to support Europe and I don't like leaving EU players behind. NOE in particular doesn't make the process easy or seamless and because of that the priority level on EU releases is much lower than NA or even JP. I'm not the only Nintendo-supporting developer who feels this way, either.
What is the hindering problem with NOE's process compared with NOA/NCL?
But i wasn't judging, just observing. It's just literally the same explanation as Shin'en gave. I have no issues with that.

I wonder that as well. If someone asked me which Nintendo region has been killing it with quick releases lately, I would say Europe. Plus I might be totally wrong here, but I thought I saw this game in an eShop reel on a Euro Direct.
Shibata needs to act on this one because it's streets ahead of other eShop titles, I'm sure it'll sell well in Europe.

Do you happen to know why cave story 3d isnt in the eshop, but the old version is ?
I want to give Nicalis my money, but i want the superior version

Thx for your information, Tyrone
Is there any plan to release in Japan eshop?
I hope NCL realizes the effort of your team and bring this to Japan
Nice. How worried are you guys about Wii U sales numbers?
Ugh...just realised this probably won't get released in Australia since it costs more money than it's worth to release smaller indie games here.
Any hope of being able to throw my money at you guys down here in Australia Tyrone?
Tyrone, please release a demo of the game! It's a great way to build hype and let people know that you have a quality product worthy of their $$$.
I hope it will have a more proper title, just being called "90s Arcade Racer" sounds bland to me for some reason. Needs a catchy name.
