He did? Probably because MS is slowing VR becoming mainstream by just not allowing Oculus to work with Xbox Next console at least at release. That may or may not happen. There are no guarantees either way.
But you still haven’t answered my question. Why would Yoshida be complaining about MS not investing in VR?
So I'm lying because I don't enjoy VR? I like to discuss things that I both enjoy and don't enjoy. That doesn't make me a lier.
So you're simply denying that a minority is trying to stop VR down everyone's throat? Is that because you mean it's the majority of VR users instead?
What are you trying to get out of this?
This game is solely purposed to sell steam VR, so won't come to psvr2 or vive. Only Steam Index.
Hint, he was basing it on experience and knowledge of every PCVR headset being compatible with 99% of PCVR games. What were you basing your comment on?What are you basing this on? There's been previous VR games that were actually exclusive to specific headsets, why wouldnt this be any different?
Another BS comment about how VR sucks, yet you have already proven you dont know anything about VR, unfortunatly it is a common thing with a lot of VR Naysayers here, not all though. Some have good points and proper experience. You can have a proper discussion with both sides as long as one side doesn't bullshit to bolster their argument, it is what I try to do. Give it a go sometime, the reaction my surprise you.Just because vr is shit doesn't mean that Kinect isn't shit either. In general these types of peripherals are shit, no matter what we call them.
The same thing can really be said about VR people. Many try so hårs to push it down common gamers throats, and if they see no interest from them it's simply because they are poor trash that can afford it, cus that's the only reason you wouldn't play, right?
Someone made a thread some time ago with the conclusion that the only reason people disliked VR was because they couldn't afford it
Its niche as fuck and companies once again overestimated how big the demand for it would be hence the ridiclous price points
Valve have invested millions into this shit so won't just drop it, desperate to push adoption with a half life side story
124 kinect games over 2 generations vs 1000's of VR games on multiple platforms. even PSVR has over 200 games itself. Try harder.
I understand how people being burned with kinect would look at VR and worry.
I agree, being VR Only essentially puts Half Life Alyx behind a costly paywall.
Valve will partner up with Sony again like they did in PS3 days and re-release Half-life VR on PS5 with much marketing fanfare and bundles. Giving them another bump for the game. Half life exclusive on Sony platform will get the chins wagging.Which might pay off for Valve if the game is good enough.
Wrong.. Says the guy that's never had a high end VR experience. I know you haven't because you wouldn't be saying that. It's not meant to replace traditional gaming, its a different experience. Get your head out your ass.Good. It’s a gimmick anyway
I know Spencer gets a ton of hate around here but he generally plays a shit load of games. If he says a game is amazing I'd tend to believe him.He describes Alyx as "amazing." He could have used other nice words not fo insult Valve, but its interesting he chose that one considering.
Well - Sony had a head-start of several years with PSNow over Game Pass and XCloud but...

Print/bury.
So anyone who doesnt like VR either has never tried it, or is poor?. Nice to see your drive by trolling has improved with age.I hope so. I really want Half Life, but I don't plan on building another gaming PC. It looks to be a great VR game.
So many naysayers who haven't even tried VR, have no idea what they're missing out on. It is amazing. I realize they just want to negate it since its out of their budget.
It's pretty weird to see when Xbox fans are pretty chill with what Phill just said and the other console fanboys are the one who mad at Phill's statement.
Hint: not Nintendo.

There isnt anything in the world that EVERYONE likes, even money. So no its a stupid viewpoint. I dont like VR, and i have sepnt a lot of time on an Oculus devkit. Yes it impressed me a lot at the time, but the games are just not what i want from it.Not sure about his view, but my opinion is yes, overwhelmingly. Not all of course.. I'm still demoing it to gamers in late 2019 and most still have no clue what is, the majority truly believe it's just a screen close to your face until they try it.

3 of the streamers on Mixer i watch a lot, all got an Index, all raved about it for a few days, and none of them play it anymore.
You suggested that everyone who doesnt like VR, has never tried it. Insinuating that anyone who tries VR, loves it. Its wrong.Huh? Where did I say everyone liked it? That wasn't my point, at all.
And streamers won't get views from VR plays, that makes no sense anyway.
And to be fair, out of those 1,000+ VR games, how many of them are 20 minute demos?124 kinect games over 2 generations vs 1000's of VR games on multiple platforms. even PSVR has over 200 games itself. Try harder.

He said a while ago that MS wouldn’t pursue it for consoles until it was fully wireless and I still think that’s the right call. Was never a fan of VR until the other day watching my 9 year old cousin spend hours playing a VR game. Phil I hope you know what your doing in regards to VR?
I'm not keen for VR because of today's tech

Next question is. How many of these 124 Kinect Games are fun compared to the 200 PSVR Games.
Keep in mind this is talking about next-gen tech and not todays tech where the specs are jumping up 13+TF GCN from where they’re currently baselined.
So what you see today will jump massively for what’s produced tomorrow.

This is absolutely false. In fact psvr sold almost double sega cd(4.2m vs 2.25m) sega cd with less time on the market. Those numbers were reported in March too for psvr. Not only that, you can see what you're getting with Sega CD, but you actually have to put in a headset to get VR. Then there's nausea claustrophobia. Sega cd should have absolutely destroyed psvr sales and didn't come close.Sony celebrates 4.2 million PSVRs sold — or about twice as many Sega CD accessories
Less impressive compared to the 94.2 million PS4s soldwww.theverge.com

One thing that MS fans seem to agree on, is the myth of the infinitely large war chest. That is why it became necessary to put down VR; because if MS has an infinitely large warchest, then there would have been no harm for Xbox to pursue both traditional gaming and VR.I think it's a mistake to discount it. If anything I think it would make a lot of sense to look at partnering with Valve & Oculus to support for their headsets. No one's saying that MS needs to come up with their own VR hardware solution, but there's no harm in at least entertaining it as an option for those who may want it with select titles.

The only way to justify MS not spending money on VR, is to claim that VR is worthless. Because the alternative is to admit that Xbox has a finite budget and can't afford to just spend their way out of trouble.
I don't think anyone gives a shit about MS's bottom line except shills and investors. The people who mention the 1$ subs usually mention it when there is some PR blurb about "x Million players", "x million zombies shot" or whatever.Reminds me of the many Sony fans so concerned about Microsoft offering $1 trials and Day1 1st party games on Game Pass, while Xbox &PC players are just selfishly lapping up the the Game Pass goodness with no cares about MS's bottom line. It's very thoughtful that the Sony folks are so concerned about the financial stability of a trillion dollar company.
That's not gone happen, because than MS must release an SDK and API for it on xbox and test it.Just allow oculus to have a application on the xbox and support their headsets. Everyone wins!
Nobody expects MS to develop their own VR solution. For Sony it was a logic step, they already make sensors, cameras and screens, the amount of R&D was much less. One thing that MS fans seem to agree on, is the myth of the infinitely large war chest.
