Watch Dogs [Leaked Footage]

Love the first explosion of the cop car...followed by the second of course.

Yeah I really like their explosions. Very dense smoke throughout the blast. I think there's a lot of trickery in it but it's very stylized. Not wild about its implementation in the gas mains though.

One side of the street seems to be chaosing it up while the other doesn't even appear to see the death right in front of them. You actually see them cross the light as it turns green. Seems like a lack of detail not data.

I don't want to be "that" guy but this is beta footage. Can only hope stuff like that is ironed out but I doubt it.

I think we all are nitpicking the hell out of this footage at the moment. It looks good to me.

When all we have are short videos and some screenshots people seem to always over analyze everything. You notice so much more about what's going on when you're not playing. I mean that NPCs behave odd on the other side of the street is something you're not likely to notice in the midst of a fight with the police :P

The most noticable thing that worries me are the nearly empty streets we've seen with day time footage. Ubi promised us more than empty streets. But other than that it looks mighty fine to me so far.

I've read previews with about 50 different nps-s if i remember correctly

Watched the 1080p footage uploaded on MEGA. To me it's looking great and fun, framerate is solid as well. My only concern is the low amount of cars and pedestrians, as stated above. An empty city is a dead city.

Just me or are there some noticeable slowdowns when aim zooming in second video?

At 0:45 and 1:18

Talking about upscaled 1080p ps4 footage

...and you guys call my stuff nitpicking. There's over 20 cars by the end of the 2nd footage. Do you guys want a traffic simulator? How are are you supposed to drive fast if there are 50 cars every block? High speed chases kinda lose the thrill if you slam into the traffic jam on main street... and boardwalk.... and 5th street.... and 1st street.... Car density seems fine.

I'm just talking pedestrians. Day time footage doesn't seem to have many of them. Cars ratio seems to be fine.

I guess there will be busy areas.
But it will never be anything like real Chicago

Yeah, that seems most likely. Also interested to see how the different kind of people in different neighbourhoods thing will work out in the final product.

Feeling better about the PS4 pre-order now. Explosions look good. Hopefully it doesn't look too soft in general and the framerate is steady.

Are we 100% certain these GIFs are coming form PS4 footage? It just looks better than what we've seen at other times before, where the game has tended to look very flat and some of the explosions seen were very basic; lacking the "pluming" sort of effect they have now.

The recent footage looks great to me. And it seems to run well which is always appreciated. That augmented reality game looked pretty boring though. But maybe it's more fun to play than it is to watch.

See this is what makes me think the current footage is beta, as all the night time footage involves a rather large number of citizens, while daytime is quite lacking in numbers. Could be a console issue as well, we just don't know until we get it in our hands which is the annoying thing with all the nitpicking :P

how far away do you expect the peds to start acting aware of the police activity(acting aware is subjective)?

In real life people would take notice way down the street, out of view of the area in the screenshot. Should the same happen in the game. Where you draw the line is subjective since you aren't going to set it up to be like RL, for gameplay fun reasons.

That's not way out though it's right across the intersection. An intersection that's full of dead cops and flashing cop cars. I expect them to have a forward line of sight of 10-15 feet at least. I don't want the whole city to riot whenever I rampage but any NPC in my view should hear the gun shots or see the carnage and react. What's the point of density if there's no reaction. Might as well have cardboard cutouts after 30 feet.

Man,its raining,NPCs are at home playing PS4s or watching HBO.

So when its chugging on those ps4 videos, when you quickly turn the camera. Is there a chance that could be fixed for launch? with this being a beta.

In that longer clip, near the clerk shooting, you see pedestrians running around screaming further down the street so I presume line of interaction is far enough.
