Some of the bosses are going to make you break a controller.
Almost every boss summons constant minions. As a solo player they'll constantly harass you to the point where they're harder than the actual boss you're fighting.

I'm the same and I'm playing this one solo too. Awesome experience. You just need to stay mobile as you get swarmed a lot. Enemies are super aggro and they'd chase you into an active volcano if they had to. They just really need to tear your head off.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake-Absolutely loving it so far (around 10 hours in).
Animal Crossing New Horizons-Loving it as well, over 40 hours already.
Dreams-Occasionally pop in and check out what people have made and/or mess around with the Imp quests and tutorials. No real interest in making my own things, but it's fun messing around with and amazing seeing the crazy things people are making.
Borderlands 3-was in heavy rotation for a couple weeks as a buddy of mine who'd been living abroad for a bit got back to the US and we played through the 2 DLCs out so far on TVHM and Mayhem 4. It was a ton of fun and not too hard aside of a couple of annoying fights. Not sure we'll play much, if at all, before the third DLC though.
A few other things occasionally on the side like some Path of Exile, Mario Maker 2 etc.

I was playing Shantae: Half Genie Hero for a good week. It was a good game to play around with. It's a remarkably short platformer that has you replaying many stages over and over so you can find all the secret items. It can get a little dull after a while but you can get distracted enough by the colorful enviroments and the very catchy theme song. The game can be hard at times, but the final stage has a jarring difficulty spike that seems way out of place! Think Rayman Origins level of slapping you in the face. And Risky Boot's own version of that stage is also a chore to endure.

A friend of mine brought it up because she saw some streamer play it and we're all into chill games that we can play while talking.
While I don't feel in the position to judge wether it's a "good game" I can say that I'm having fun and I need to put something out there.
This game handles Multiplayer better than 95% of eco-sims/simulators etc. out there.
We all know the struggle of multiplayer game sessions. Who gets to host? Where to store savegames in case that somebody else needs to host/wants to play alone?
Had this problem in many games over the last years: Minecraft, Astroneer, Ark...
If you change your savegame to a multiplayer game in Bus Simulator 18, it stores all the needed information in the cloud and whenever they want anyone can boot up the save and host a session from there. Progress is never lost and there's no need for organizing stuff or renting a server.
While I agree that this is easier for a game does not require a dedicated machine running 24/7 and that the server here mostly provides data storage; it's now what I wish for all games where you play in your own world to be. Boot up your world, play in it and now it's accessible to everyone of your mates at all times with no additional cost.
Instead I still need to host our Astroneer session on my pc where it runs 100% smoothly while the xbox one X is not able to keep up a steady framerate and lagfree hosting after 10h of playtime...

Update: Finished God of War. It was amazing from start to finish and is going into my top 10 all-time list. The last fight was SO SATISFYING and was amazing all the way through. I'm still speechless and I can't believe I missed playing this for 2 years. I'll be picking up the sequel on release day.
And FF7 Remake Deluxe is coming tuesday (my wife is an angel)! So until then, I'm finishing SuperHot and might start (and hopefully finish) RE Remake 1 or God of War 3 Remastered. Once Tuesday rolls around, I'll be on a one way ticket to Midgar!

I've heard that Doom Eternal's level design is not very good and that most encounters are focused on arenas. I was actually thinking of getting Amid Evil, Black Mesa, and Hades instead.
Which should I go with? Doom Eternal or the other 3 games? I loved Dusk and it's one of my favorite FPS games ever.

Dusk is on my list to play. Can't to jump into that one. I would say go with the other 3. Amid Evil has been simple focused fun and well, Black Mesa is what you'd expect.
Doom Eternal looks beautiful, but I find it to be worse than Doom 2016. It's rpg mechanics are very convoluted and you've got to chainsaw all the time if you don't want to run out of ammo all over the place. The dash is a nice addition and you get into a nice flow of movement around the arenas, but I found the platforming outside of those arenas to be boring and some level design confusing. I won't speak to the story because I don't think it serves any purpose lol.

I've been getting back into Forza Horizon 4 recently. I unlocked a bunch of achievements in fairly quick succession, so I decided to chase the remaining ones down and I've been having a lot of fun doing that. I've got 2 left to go.
I've also been playing Arise: A Simple Story, which I bought on a whim while browsing the games on sale on Xbox Live. I've only played a couple of the levels, but it seems pretty cool. The second level is quite a bit better than the first IMO.

Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Should have it wrapped up by Saturday night. Then onto MediEvil Remake from last year and then Trials of Mana which im really looking forward to as I loved the demo.

Oh you'll love Dusk, the level design is so awesome and the atmosphere is amazing. There's a lot of variety in the environments to. It actually has a story as well and it's all told through game play and the environments, there's some really clever stuff the game does with telling a story through environments. It's some cool stuff.

Iceborne. This expansion is massive! I thought it was going to be, you know, some additional content. I am beginning to think it has as much scope and content as the original game. Been playing for weeks and still have not opened up the Guiding Lands. Having a pretty good time with it. I co-op with randoms and do pretty good. At this stage of the game most players are reasonably proficient, know their weapon of choice and their character builds and their attacks.
It is not a simple game. There is a lot of content beyond hacking and slashing the player needs to delve into and understand. Preparation is key to a successful hunt. Every monster requires a custom build, if you want to max out your dps and defense. And each monster needs to be studied, their attacks and movements learned, their weaknesses understood. I think Monster Hunter World is among the best games I have ever played!

Finished up Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I didn't like it as much as Human Revolution, but it's still very good. It's just a much more straight forward story and smaller game overall.
Little King's Story. I like the game, but I might be close to stopping, which is about where I stopped many years ago, because navigating around the map every day is so monotonous.
Just Cause 4. I played about two hours of this before I wasn't interested any more. I can't understand how these developers don't understand what makes Just Cause great. They are trying to turn it more towards a structured shooter and action game when what people want from these games is wanton destruction and big explosions. I still go back to Just Cause 2 to get my destruction fix.
GTA4. I didn't remember how gray this game was. I am enjoying aspects of it, but it's not holding up as well as I thought it would honestly. Replaying this makes me think better of GTA5, though I still like the physics heavy car handling in this.

Been quite a while since I played it, but I remember having a good time with it. I got quite a ways into it, and then my son started a game and saved over my file.
Never went back.I'd say at least stick with it a little longer.

Final Fantasy 7 remake. On chapter 8 at about 22 hours in playtime. (On normal) I love the exploration, but it's been REALLY tough on loops for grinding. Enjoying it so far!

I just finished Phantasy Star IV. Been wanting to play thru it for decades. Fantastic title and one of Genesis' best. Some of those later boss fights got pretty dicey and almost made me quit but I made it.

Just bought Dark Souls III and Greedfall because they were each $20 on Amazon. Kind of excited for Dark Souls since I've only ever played Bloodborne but I'll probably be let down by the differences. Still excited to try it out, Someday. Maybe.
I played through Nier Automata 1 time when it released but I sold it and I guess I misssed a lot of the game by only playing through once? So might get that one again if I can find it cheap.

REmake - I don't know about this. Lots of backtracking. Super limited inventory. Limited saves. No story worth talking about. Large amounts of slow opening doors. At one point a door knob breaks for seemingly no other reason than so you can do even more backtracking. The game seems to do everything it can to be a huge pain in your ass. Yeah, the atmosphere is good but the game appears severely overrated to me.
Mario 3D World - It's awesome.

Ace Combat 7 on Gamepass. Not bad. Immediately the 60 fps makes the game play smoother than AC6 and AH.
Takes some getting used as I haven't played an AC game in a while, and I noticed the planes have a lot more sway when you try to turn compared to the old games making it harder to cut corners.
Good graphics.
Only problem is the intermission (story, replay, choose plane and gear etc....) literally is about 10 screens worth of clicking just to start the next mission.

What time is it?
- Doom Eternal (PS4) - It has everything I disliked about the original turned up to 11. I just don't need upgrade "carrots" in Doom. I'm also still not a fan of the finishing moves for health and chainsaw for ammo design. Not sure I'll stick with this one.
- Journey to a Savage Planet (Xbox One X via Gamepass) - Need to spend more time with it but the locomotion feels really slow.
- Outlast 1/2 (PS4 via PS+) - Nope, Nope, Nope. I'm too chicken for these types of games.
- Friday the 13th (PS4 via PS+) - I dig asymmetric multi-player games and this is no exception. It just too bad it is so damned clunky.
- Kona (Xbox One X via Gamepass) - Worst narrator in a modern game?
