There's a comic from the 80s maybe 90s I think where Spider-Man is supporting a whole building. So nothing new really.

Like they got to the third group and just said fuck it and threw in random namesSo he's on the same level as Silver Surfer and She-Hulk?
this one is from the clone saga i guess..
is it original peter or ben reilly peter?
should be able to tell from the costume, but ehh so much time has passed

That's Peter, Ben Reilly has web cartridges on his wrists and the suit looks different (blackish) than the classic.
I'm just watching it again...when is that supposed to happen? Hulk punches him once and Thor flies out of the screen, yes. But knocked out?
Spider-Man is a street level character but not his powers.

Most of these scenes where it shows his unbelievable power is due to Spider-Man being in a tough spot and getting a sort of adrenalin rush overcoming the hurdle.
There aren't that many situations (at least up to the 90's comics) where he can show his raw strength though.
Oh yeah, I hated the organic webs. Completely misses the point of Peter being a gifted genus.
True, but when even the quips stop...then you're really fuckedHe can still joke around and still fuck people up. When Octavius bitched out at the end of Superior he was throwing jokes around while crushing Osborn's hands/wrists.
Lol I don't know how we decide what comic book "reasoning" is sound and what isn't. The whole concept of changing DNA of an individual and having them change physiologically is beyond ridiculous. So once you accept that, it's perfectly fine to say the spider DNA gave him instincts for certain enzymes and how to mix them to create the webbing.I didn't mind them. I think Raimi's reasoning was sound: Are we saying a college freshman can produce something that 3M couldn't even make?

Not to mention teenage geniuses are kind of a staple of fantasy works.![]()
i forget, did the symbiotic enhance his strength or just remove some limiters?
i remember him picking up a wall sized steel plate door or something with ease and was about to squash rhino during the cartoon.
TONY STARK MADE IT IN A CAVEI didn't mind them. I think Raimi's reasoning was sound: Are we saying a college freshman can produce something that 3M couldn't even make?
Camuncoli's glorious art lends itself well to both expressiveness in the humour and Spider-man's own ridiculous physical lending credence to him being a bruiser.True, but when even the quips stop...then you're really fucked
Although this moment is fantastic. Four panels, and it just flows wonderfully. Perfect use of a quip there

I might be wrong but I think it made him give less of a fuck. Or both that and enhance his strength.i forget, did the symbiotic enhance his strength or just remove some limiters?

IIRC Ben had the massive spider emblem that covered his whole torso. Was also Ben that made the Impact Webbing, right?

you going to respect Impact and stinger webbingYep, he shot webbed balls.
Except in Batman vs. Superman (SPOILER):The longer a superhero is around, the more bullshit they end up pulling. Once he's lifted a train, cars aren't impressive anymore. Escalation is the norm.
Same way Batman is essentially omniscient and Superman started dragging planets around on a chain. Too much one-upmanship.
Unless you're octavius and use that shit on anyone. No, all it really did was give him unlimited webbing and free clothes.
you going to respect Impact and stinger webbing
See, that's what makes a character trait good. The quips aren't just there for the sake of humor alone. They inform you about the character, and even the absence of them tells you something about the character's mindset at the momentIf Spidey goes dead silent then he's on the edge of permanently damaging or killing someone.
So he's on the same level as Silver Surfer and She-Hulk?
True, but when even the quips stop...then you're really fucked

No idea, really. The only time I have seen Silver Surfer doing hand to hand combat (instead of using cosmic powers) was against The Vision during the Avengers / Defenders war for the Evil Eye, so... as usual, depends on the writer.
Surfers physical abilities are enhanced by the power cosmic. He's essentially "incalculable".
He doesn't beat down people with raw strength often but he can. He had a nasty fight with hulk in planet hulk, and was throwing down with a mind controlled Thing in his current series.
.
Is...is that 90s Surfer or did Hulk become Silver Surfer?
You can clearly see Thor is struggling with Hulk, hence why they engage the hulk with the fighter jet.
Is "Superior Spider-Man" worth reading? it sounds kinda cool

It's pretty good.Is "Superior Spider-Man" worth reading? it sounds kinda cool
What about The Thing, Collossus, Black Bolt and Namor?
[EDIT]:
Ah, the Ultimate universe. Don't know shit about that one. Didn't know those were absent there. Ignore me.
These basically. He was a teenager when he got bit and continued getting stronger as he aged. Plus he is always holding back his strength to avoid collateral damage or hurting enemies too much, so you rarely ever see how powerful Peter ACTUALLY is.
FWIW he is probably #3 in the MCU behind only Hulk and Thor.
Checked it out last year on Unlimited and it actually pretty goodIs "Superior Spider-Man" worth reading? it sounds kinda cool
Remember the 90s when pym was jacked for no good reason
