It had plenty going for it. What killed the Vita was Sony themselves. More specifically, corporate spite against handheld consoles coming from SCEA.PS vita, the thing just had like no exclusives, and really nothing going for it, pretty much ended Sonys handheld market.
The consoles aren't bad, its just your taste in gaming might be questionable.
87 million isn't a failure. With all the debate about the failure of the Ps 3 generation its time to make your choice!

Its only your fault for not playing or not liking the games I listed. You also are on your high horse judging consoles, cause they don't have games you like, so you also are being a hypocrite. PS2 had some of the best games of that gen, if you didnt like them, you only have yourself to blame. Why don't you climb off your high horse and stop judging peoples tastes in games just because they had a bad experience with said consoles (or generation).
Theres no such option in the xbox poll? By definition you have a favourite and least favourite generation .. sure go ahead and get both polls wording changed so as to protect your feelings if you must.
Well depends how you look at it. In the 6th gen they had a 6:1 lead to Xbox, and that became a tie in the 7th gen. Successful if you look at it alone, but when you see the context, it wasn't really that "successful". The Playstation division lost a lot of money in that era, and they were heavily leaking from like 2006-2010, bare breaking even in the final years.87 million isn't a failure.
And there isn't one. They're all successful.
None have been disappointing to me personally, but I voted PS3 as that’s the gen where it wasn’t my main. 360 was as it got the best versions of multiplats and was where my friends mostly were playing online.
PS3 had killer exclusives though with the Uncharted games, TLOU, Infamous 1 and 2, Killzone 2 and 3, Journey and so on. So I still loved it and games a lot on it.
PS4 is killing it though. One of my all-time favorite consoles/libraries. I love cinematic, narrative-driven games so Sony has me on lock down.
I don't know... If the Vita used SD cards instead of ultra expensive proprietary cards, a normal USB port (like the revision) and Sony made 8gb game cards (as they promised but never made them), it could have been a totally different story. It had a lot bigger issues than that, nearly all of which were due to market conditions. Good product at the wrong time, simple as that.
what fps games? the only ones that were successful were cod, which was also on xbox, and bioshock, which again was on xbox, and F.E.A.R which again was on xbox, did you even play demons souls, dark souls, dark souls 2, kingdoms of amalur reckoning, dragons dogma, ni no kuni, last of us, god of war, dead space 1 and 2, dead island, devil may cry 4, or any of the uncharted games?PS3 is a bad generation for me. Graphically not much impressive. Alot of rehashes of old franchise. Little pc ports. Slow digital downloads. Alot of FPS releases type of games.
