You'd actually go through the trouble...for trailers?

Nope, I was just being PC about it. :)

The chances are 100% that you can do this.

Cool, hopefully more 720p WMV will start appearing on the newsgroups. I'm looking forward to watching The Sopranos, Deadwood etc next year. That's coming from someone in the UK whose going all HD in anticipation of the 360.

Sky HD is also coming out early 06 aswell although I don't fancy paying the extra subs for pretty much Premiership football only.

so if i just burn wmv's to a dvd it will be able to play it??? meaning i can just drag and drop, no need to make a bootable dvd???

It appears that way, yes.

Let me take that back before I regret it. I'm not sure is the real answer. Wmvhd dvd-roms do use a file structure like, say, a dvd movie does. Content, menus, DRM, etc all have their place on the disk. I have no experience with authoring a wmvhd dvd so, I can't tell you what, if anything, will be required besides the movie file itself to be played.

I do know that 360 game fmv's will use this codec also.

If anyone else knows more, please chime in.
