49"
Just went with the IPS 49XBR830c. $650 for it was hard to pass up. Especially since I am used to IPS panels for PC monitors.
I am glad I got the 49/50. I was thinking 55" in store, since next to all the screens, it is hard to guage size in your home. It is perfect for where I have it, and I sit about 6 feet away, so it looks huge to me (used to 27" monitor for a while before deciding to get a new TV again. Traveled a lot with work.)
Well that's badass. Congrats on the buy!
Thanks, lol. I actually went in, and was like, fuck it, I am just going to get the 1080p W800c for $700, and use my double points coupon that expires in 2 days. I needed a new set in time for MLB, R&C, and UC4.
That was when the salesperson saw me staring at the X830c, and was like, "we just got one 'open box' never even take out of the box. Just screws that were sitting on top in a bag. We can let you have it with the $100 sale, plus additional $230 off which will be a 120hz 4K set."
I loved the tiny pixel density, and read good things about the X1 scaler, and played the PS4 (Ratchet and Clank demo) on it, and the scaling was just as sharp and native looking as 1080p, no softness at all, and even better pixel density (tinier stair step).
So I thought about this thread, and was like, "fuck it, let's do it. 4K ready, got great reviews for the PC hookups as well, and I am paying less for both the TV and warranty than the 1080p one? And an XBR?" Easy decision, lol.
